The Learning Multicultural Content Exposition Text Writing Using CIRC and TTW Models Based on Personality Types of X Graders

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the effectiveness of learning skills of expository writing of multicultural exposition with CIRC model and TTW model based on personality type of student class X as well as explaining the interaction of learning writing exposition text in multicultural expression with CIRC model and TTW model based on personality type of student class X. This research uses a quasi-experimental factorial design. In this design, there are two experimental groups namely cooperative integrated reading and composition class and think talk write experiment class. The results of the study are (1) the CIRC model was effectively used in teaching expository writing for introverted students, (2) the TTW model was effectively used in teaching expository texts for extroverted learners, and (3) The CIRC model is more effective than the TTW model. The average value of both is 88.73 > 84.64. It shows that between CIRC class and TTW class there is a significant difference.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the textual level of discourse on reporting corruption in Trans TV and Global TV media. The research employed a theoretical and methodological approach. Theoretically, this research used a model of critical discourse analysis by Norman Fairclough. The methodological approach used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The results of the study were concerned with two things. Firstly, the vocabulary used in the E-KTP corruption news texts broadcasted on Trans TV tend to be in the form of a formal vocabulary, while those on Global TV tend to use informal vocabulary. The expressions used in Trans TV tend to be the expression of euphemism, while those on Global TV tend to use metaphors. Secondly, regarding grammatical analysis, Trans TV and Global TV utilize active and passive sentences, positive-negative sentences, modalities, and personal pronouns. Thirdly, regarding text structure analysis, the corruption news texts on Trans TV and Global TV tend to show a pattern or structure consisting of five elements, namely the news headline, news date, news lead, news body, and the end of the news.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find and explain the form of reinforcement educators in the interaction of learning Indonesian Curriculum 2013 at Public Junior High School 1 Jepara. This research uses class discourse design. The data were collected by the referring method, followed by techniques of Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC), recording techniques, and noting techniques. The data were analyzed by using agih method with a basic technique for the direct element (BUL). The result of the research in the form of strengthening educator in the interaction of learning in verbal and nonverbal form. The strengthening of verbal forms done by educators in the form of words and sentences. The reinforcement in the form of words done by educators in the form of words only, while the strengthening of a sentence pronounced by educators in the form of sentences to clarify the existing words. The nonverbal reinforcement by educators is strengthening in the form of mime and body movement, by approaching, with fun activities, in the form of touch, symbols, and objects. The use of verbal and nonverbal reinforcement is done by educators simultaneously.

Abstract

The purpose of this study are to explain form of language shift and to find out of facor that be background in Dawanese shifting in Amanuban society in South Central Timor regnancy. Data are collected by using SLC (simak libat cakap) and it is continued by using recording taking note method. Data analysis is done is some stages, there are data collection, data reduction, data resentation, and conclusion. The results is this study are Dawanese has got shifting in Amanuban society through: (a) words, (b) phrases, (c) sentences, and factors that be background in Dawanese shifting, through (a) ages, (b) mixed marriage, (c) occupation, and (d) mobility population. Based on the results above, Dawanese shifting happened in Amanuban society especially in family can be seen from form of language, there are words, phrases, and sentences. The main factor cause Dawanese shifting is education factor that rise another language.

Abstract

Habiburrahman El-Shirazy’s novel presence reveals aesthetic values and is expected to realize its universal values in social life, as for example the values of religion, education, moral, ethic, social, and etc. His works contain religious valued endeavors, to present Islamic teaching instilled into each character, both male and female. The problems are how the attitude of the main female character is, how Islamic values of the novels is, and how to represent Islamic teachings of the novel. The research method used covers extrinsic approach by combining the literature and its thought (Wellek and Austin Warren), data and other data sources, its data collection, validity, and technique of data analyzing. The findings are the attitude of the main character is pious, obedient to her husband, parents, eager to study, responsible, generous, and handy. The values are found are aqidah, the worship values, its values and Islamic teaching representations are; Aqidah (ilahiyat, prophecy, ruhaniyat, samiyat), syariat (mahdah worships dan ghairu mahdah worships), Akhlak (the righteous attitude).

Abstract

Batak Society as newcomers or minority in Semarang accommodates its language. One of the domains requiring accommodation is trading. The purpose of this research is to analyze Batak society language accommodation in trading domain to Javanese in Semarang. The research uses sociolinguistics approach as its methodology. The data is collected by using observation and record as the basic techniques. Then it is continued by participant observation, free involved observation, recording, and noting. The data analysis is done using coding method and interactive model. Based on the findings, they show the accommodation pattern are (1) pattern of Javanese accommodation convergent, (2) pattern of Javanese accommodation most convergent, (3) pattern of Batak Toba language accommodation divergent, (4) pattern of Batak Karo language accommodation divergent, and (5) pattern of Batak Simalungun language accommodation divergent.

Abstract

Ca Leleng Do, Do Leleng Ca (One is equal to many, many is equal to one) poetry set is a traditional poetry originating from Manggarai, by Inosensius Sutam. This study has purpose to describe and explain the meanings of the poetry set. The approach uses in this study is theoretical and methodological approach. The theoretical approach used is semiotic. Meanwhile the methodological approach is qualitative descriptive. The technique of collecting the data is done by literature reviews and heuristic reading. Then, the validity of the data is gained through deeper observation and data triangulation. The technique of analyzing data is done by semiotic model. Based on the research, the poetry set contains meaning related to Manggarai’s people lifes, such as (1) unity and union meaning created in inter-relationship and social environment, (2) empirical meaning bind from ancestors’ relationship, (3) patriotism.

Abstract

Raudal Tanjung Banua’poems is containing many problems of the nature environment. This study aims to analyze the representation of the nature environment in Banua’s poems and the reasons for the emergence of environmental problems in the poem. The approach of this research is ecocriticism and semiotic approach. Heuristic method is used to collecting data and hermeneutic method is used analysis the data. The results of the analysis show that environmental representations in Banua poetry can be grouped into four categories, namely the occurrence of exploitation of nature, the occurrence of nature environment damage, the causes of damage to the nature environment, and the benefits of the nature environment for humans. The appearance of nature environment problems in Banua’s poem is motivated by several reasons, among others, because Banua can not directly protest, because of his love for the nature environment, as his prayer that the nature environment can be in good condition, hope for a better life for fishermen and farmers, and the form of a devotee to God. The results of this study are expected to provide benefits for solving environmental problems and the development of environmentally sound literature.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan kebutuhan pengembangan multimedia permainan edukatif untuk pembelajaran kesiapan membaca bagi anak-anak usia dini; merumuskan prinsip-prinsip pengembangan; mengembangkan desain; membuktikan keefektifan multimedia permainan edukatif tersebut dalam meningkatkan minat dan kesiapan membaca pada anak-anak usia dini; dan membuat model multimedia permainan edukatif dalam pembelajaran kesiapan membaca untuk anak-anak usia dini. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Research & Development, yaitu untuk mengembangkan suatu produk melalui proses pengembangan. Data penelitian bersumber dari guru PAUD/TK, anak-kanak usia dini, dan tiga pakar dalam uji ahli. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah pemanfaatan permainan edukatif yang telah dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini sangat efektif untuk meningkatkan kesiapan membaca pada anak-anak usia dini. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan kemampuan yang sangat signifikan sebesar 48%. Pemanfaatan model ini mampu meningkatkan minat belajar anak didik yang terbukti dengan peningkatan sebesar 41%. Model ini layak digunakan di lapangan karena dapat menjembatani permasalahan pembelajaran kesiapan membaca pada anak-anak usia dini yang selama ini menjadi perdebatan.The objectives of this study are to (1) determine the needs,(2) formulate the principles, (3) develop the design, (4) determine the effectiveness of multimedia development in educative games to improve the interest and reading readiness to young learners, and (5) create the model. This study used Research and Development approach. The result of the study are (1) multimedia development can improve their learning interest about 41%, (2) this multimedia development is effective to improve reading readiness of young learners. It can be seen from the increase of their abilities about 48%, and (3) this model is acceptable to be used in the classrooms since it can be an alternative solution of debatable reading problems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengemukakan potret kehidupan sosial orang Flores dalam novel Ata Mai (Sang Pendatang). Pendekatan yang dipakai dalam rangka mencapai tujuan tersebut ialah sosiologi sastra. Sosiologi sastra yang dimaksudkan di sini identik dengan sosiokritik. Artinya, karya sastra memiliki pretensi melakukan kritik sosial atas peristiwa dan kenyataan sosial kemasyarakatan. Menurut pendekatan ini karya sastra terlahir atas latar belakang sosial budaya, pengetahuan, dan pengalaman langsung pengarang dengan kehidupan sosial masyarakat pada sebuah tempat tertentu. Metode yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kualitatif yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis. Dari hasil analisis diketahui bahwa melalui novel “Ata Mai” (Sang Pendatang) pengarang mengobservasi, mendokumentasikan, dan mendeskripsikan kenyataan faktual masyarakat Ende-Lio, Flores, Nusa Tenggara Timur sebagai ekspresi ungkapan jiwa kepengarangannya. Intensitas pengetahuan dan pengalaman pengarang tentang masyarakat suku Ende-Lio Flores tampak dalam temuannya mengenai persoalan-persoalan sosial seperti dkemiskinan, penindasan atas perempuan, belis, pendidikan dan kesehatan yang tidak memadai, dan aktualisasi diri masyarakat yang dibangun atas tingginya harga diri.This study presents a portrait of the social life of a Florinese person in the novel “Ata Mai” (“The One Who Comes”). The approach used to achieve this is the sociology of literature. What is meant by the sociology of literature is identical with socio-criticism. This means that a literary work possesses the pretension to make a social criticism of an event and a happening in society. According to this approach, a literary work is born out of a cultural social background, which includes an understanding, and a direct experience of the writer in the social life of the community in a particular place. The method used in this study is qualitative, which produces descriptive data in written form. Analysis reveals that the author of “Ata Mai” has observed, documented and described a portrait of the life of a person from the Ende-Lio, Flores, community, in Nusa Tenggara Timur. This work reveals the author’s own soul, and the intensity of the knowledge and experience of the author, of the people of Ende-Lio, Flores. This is evidenced in the findings regarding person problems such as poverty, the harassment of women, dowry, education and health which are not evenly enjoyed, and the actualization of a society which is built upon a high regard for one’s dignity.
