Learning to Write Scientific Articles with The Project Based Learning on The Levels of Students’ Creative Thinking

Abstract

The students’ skills of writing scientific articles are necessarily acquired in order to put the students’ ideas into writings, within appropriate methods and styles. The learning process of writing scientific articles is suitably acquired with the project based learning which assesses the levels of students’ creative thinking. The research aims to explain aims to explain the effectiveness of learning process in writing scientific articles with the project based learning and the levels of students’ creative thinking. The research applied quasi experiment. The data were collected using purposive sampling method. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests. The sample were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests. Finally, the data were analyzed using paired t-test. All of them were analyzed using paired t-test. All the tests used SPSS 25 test program the results of the research were concluded by applying the project based learning and the levels of students’ creative thinking on students’ writing practices. The results found that learning to write scientific articles using the project based learning effectively affect students with a high level of creative thinking that those with medium and low levels. The benefits of this research were to enrich the thesaurus theory of learning to write scientific articles based on the level of students’ creative thinking more effectively.

Abstract

A skill to conclude the content of procedural text owned by students to understand the meaning of the text. Learning by using investigation group model is appropriate to learning styles of students. This research aims to analyze concluding skill of students dealing with the text by using investigation group model based on students’ learning styles. This quasi experimental research used several data collection techniques, such as questionnaire guidance, observation guidance, documentation, and interview guidance. The data analysis used validity and reliability tests while the sample test used normality and homogeneity test. The final data was analyzed by using one way anova to find out the effectiveness comparison of the learning based on students’ learning styles. The findings showed that visual typed students got average score 79, auditory typed students 82.4, and kinesthetic typed students 77.8. Learning the skill to conclude procedural text by using the model was effective to be implemented for auditory typed students. This research is expected to enrich theoretical knowledge of learning to conclude procedural text based on the effective learning styles of students..

Abstract

Language is human nature, meaning that language as a means of verbal communication is only possessed by humans. The politeness of speech spoken by state officials in Q and A Metro TV talkshow is an interesting phenomenon to be studied from a pragmatic perspective since social and verbal interactions of state officials will appear as natural as possible when state officials communicate with hosts and panelists. This study analyzed the forms and types of violations and the obedience of Leech maxim politeness of state officials in Q and A Metro TV Talk Show. The study was analyzed using a pragmatic and descriptive qualitative approach. The data was collected by listening and note-taking. The data analysis techniques in this study was normative technique. The obedience with the principle of politeness can be found in the maxim of generosity, the maxim of acceptance, the maxim of modesty, the maxim of approval, and the maxim of sympathy. Violations on the principle of politeness are on the maxim of judgement, maxim of generosity, maxim of courtesy, maxim of modesty, and maxim of approval. The benefit of this study is to provide an understanding of the politeness of the speeches of state officials in Q and A Metro TV Talk Show.

Abstract

Poetry text writing skills possessed by students so that they can produce poetry based on freedom of imagination and creativity. Synectic learning model with the students’ independence level is appropriate for learning to write poetry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of learning to write poetry texts with a synectic model based on the independence level of the classroom students. This study used a quasi-experimental method with data collection techniques using observation and interview guides. Final data analysis used one-way ANOVA test to analyze differences in the effectiveness of learning to write conservation poetry texts based on the independence level. The results showed the average value of high independence students was 87.86, then the average independence learning outcomes were 84.63, while the average learning outcomes of low independence was 84. Learning to write conservation poetry texts with synectic models is more effective to be used in students who have a high level of independence. The benefits of the results of this study can add to the learning theory to write poetry that accustoms students’ independence more effectively.

Abstract

Poetry is a medium for poets to express or utter their notions and intended purposes to readers. This research objective is to analyze the form, meaning, function of figurative language and image as well as the relationship between figurative language and their correlations in poetry set Melihat Api Bekerja by M. Aan Mansyur. The data were poetry excerpts which had appropriateness to problem sings. The data were gained through literature study and hermeneutic reading. This review of the poetry set used stylistic review. The findings showed: first, there were 76 figurative languages consisting of 27 similes, 17 metaphors, 18 personifications, 3 metonymies, 3 synecdotes, and 8 idioms; second, there were 77 imageries consisting of 41 visual images, 8 audio images, 2 smelling images, 1 tasting image, 19 palpability images, and 6 movement images; third, there were 6 correlations of figurative and imagery language. A significant founding in this research is a poetry collection Melihat Api Bekerja by M.Aan Mansyur can increase reader interest in figurative language and imagery comprehension. the benefits of these research for the readers to get and understand figurative language and imagery in poetry collection Melihat Api Bekerja by M.Aan Mansyur.

Abstract

Short story writing skills require the creativity of students. Students are required to be able to think creatively and be able to develop their imagination to produce interesting short stories. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of short story writing learning using multiliteracy models with public service advertising media based on the type of learning of senior high school students. The research design used was a quasi-experimental population of senior high school class XI students in the academic year 2019/2020. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using short story writing test techniques, non-tests conducted by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the average similarity test (T-test) and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results of this study can prove the effectiveness of the use of multi literation models with public service advertising media on learning to write short stories based on the learning type of senior high school students. The results of this study provide theoretical and practical advantages. Theoretically, this research can provide alternative theories of the use of innovative learning models that fit the needs of 21st -century students. The significance of this research for educators is the theory of innovative short story writing learning based on the type of student learning by using a multiliteracy model that utilizes public service advertising media.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the diversity of languages ​​used by the Banjar-Dayak speech community in the City of Palangka Raya, which represents the existence of bilingual and multilingual communities with conditions such as these that lead to the choice of languages ​​used by the community, especially in the domain of the family. This purpose of the study was to describe the form of language choices used in the family domain. Data collected using the listening method and proficient method. Analysis of the data in this study used a translational equivalent using the Pilah Determinant (PUP) technique and an advanced technique consisting of two techniques, namely the Linking Appeal Equalization technique (HBS) and the Differential Linking Technique (HBB). The results showed that the language form of the bilingual community of Banjar-Dayak was in the form of a single language including Dayak and Banjar languages, code-switching, and code-mixing.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the form of language; to identify the language function; and to describe the characteristics of an anecdote message on YouTube video in Javanese Cenut Nut. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The results of this study indicate the form or variation of anecdotal language in the Javanese Cenut Nut youtube video based on its speakers consisting of idiolects, dialects, and sociolects. The language function in the Cenut Nut youtube video, i.e. language expressed the speaker's feelings; language sought someone to do something; the language provides information; to express about the language itself; focus on the aesthetic value of language; and expressing solidarity and empathy for others. Characteristics of messages in the Java Cenut Nut youtube video are be known clearly (explicit) in the form of exclamations, advice, warnings, suggestions, or prohibitions relating to the main theme of a story; be conveyed directly or implied through characters or characterizations in a story; delivered in accordance with the phenomena in the community; the speakers often repeat words; the tone of speech used by the speaker tends to go up or rough; and the language used by the speaker were some words that contain pornographic associations. Based on the description above it can be concluded that in the Cenut Nut youtube video some forms or variations of language, language functions, and characteristics of messages that are different from Javanese in general.

Abstract

The traditional pahili mbuala ritual utterances used by the performers of the ritual can implicitly represent the culture of the unique Sumba ethnic community. These particularities are full of meanings that can be known through teachings spoken for generations by ritual practitioners.The purpose of this study was to analyze the form of lingual units and the cultural significance of the traditional pahili mbuala ritual speech in Rindi Village, Rindi District, East Sumba Regency.The data in this study are qualitative data using the refer method followed by a competent free engage listening technique (SBLC), record technique, and note-taking technique. Data analysis was carried out through two procedures namely analysis during the process of presenting data and analysis after data collection. The results of the study showed that the form of a lingual unit of traditional pahili mbuala ritual speech in the form of words, phrases, sentences, and discourse can reveal cultural meanings that reflect the thought patterns and views of the Sumba ethnic community on the values ​​and teachings adopted.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were provided and explained the forms of lingual units and the meaning of lingual units contained in the Batak Simalungun traditional wedding ceremony in Medan. The data in this qualitative study were obtained using the method of listening and proficiency. The data analysis is used in the matching and distribution method with techniques for direct elements. The data analysis was carried out through two procedures, namely analysis during data collection and analysis after data collection. The results obtained are as follows. First, lingual unit forms include words, phrases, sentences, and speech. The lingual unit in the form of a word includes the word monomorfemis and the polymorphemic word form. Second, the cultural meaning of the lingual unit which includes (1) the meaning of human relations with God, (2) the meaning of human relations with the humans, and (3) the meaning of married life
