Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) menguji kualitas Inductive Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis peserta didik, (2) menganalisis kemampuan representasi matematis ditinjau dari self efficacy peserta didik pada Inductive Discovery Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kombinasi (mixed method) tipe concurrent embedded, dimana metode penelitian kualitatif lebih ditekankan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII SMP Islam Sultan Agung 4 Semarang. Sampel penelitian adalah dua dari lima kelas yang ada pada kelas VII (dipilih kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol). Pada kelas eksperimen dilakukan pengkategorian ditinjau dari self efficacy masing-masing peserta didik (self efficacy tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Setiap kategori self efficacy diambil dua peserta didik untuk dijadikan subjek penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui (1) pengumpulan data kuantitatif dengan tes dan kuesioner, (2) pengumpulan data kualitatif dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) tahap perencanaan pembelajaran dinyatakan dalam kategori baik dari perolehan skor penilaian perangkat pembelajaran 3,954; tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran dinyatakan dalam kategori baik dari perolehan rata-rata penilaian aktivitas guru 4,108; dan tahap penilaian menggunakan uji ketuntasan klasikal (lebih dari 75% dari seluruh peserta didik kelas eksperimen tuntas secara klasikal) dan uji beda rata-rata (t hitung > t tabel dinyatakan rata-rata kemampuan kelas ekspeimen lebih dari rata-rata kemampuan representasi matematis kelas kontrol). Dari ketiga tahap tersebut dapat diperoleh kesimpulan kualitas pembelajaran melalui IDL terhadap kemampuan representasi peserta didik termasuk kategori baik, (2) Peserta didik dengan self efficacy tinggi dapat menggunakan semua indikator representasi matematis dengan maksimal dibandingkan dengan peserta didik dengan self efficacy sedang dan rendah. The purpose of this study are (1) Inductive Discovery Learning quality of voice to the ability of mathematical representation of learners, (2) the ability to represent themselves from self-learning. This research is a combination research (mixed method) type of concurent embedded, where qualitative research method is more emphasized. The population in this research is all students of class VII Islamic Junior High School Sultan Agung 4 Semarang. The study sample is two of the five classes that exist in class VII (selected experimental class and control class). In the experimental class, categorization is done in terms of self efficacy of each learner (self efficacy is high, medium, and low). Each category of self-efficacy is taken by two students to be the subject of qualitative research. Data collection was conducted by (1) completion of quantitative data with tests and questionnaires, (2) completion of qualitative data with interviews and documentation. The results showed: (1) learning planning stage in good category of score assessment appraisal tool 3.954; Stage of learning implementation in the category of both average work average 4,108; And the assessment stage uses classical exhaustiveness test (more than 75% of all classical experiments class experiments are classical) and average difference test (t count = 15.92> t table = 1.675 average ability of expeimen class higher than average The ability of the mathematical representation of the control class). From the three stages can be obtained through the quality of learning through IDL to the ability of student representation including good category, (2) learners with high self efficacy can use all indicators of mathematical representation with the maximum compared with learners with moderate and low self efficacy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menguji ketuntasan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada model pembelajaran MEA, (2) mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis berdasarkan self efficacy siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kombinasi (mix method) tipe concurred embedded, dimana metode penelitian kualitatif lebih ditekankan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui (1) pengumpulan data kuantitatif dengan tes dan kuesioner, (2) pengumpulan data kualitatif dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Ungaran yang terdiri dari enam orang (masing-masing 2 subjek dengan self efficacy tinggi, sedang dan rendah). Penentuan subjek penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang memilih 2 siswa dalam setiap kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) penilaian menggunakan uji ketuntasan klasikal (lebih dari 75% dari seluruh siswa kelas eksperimen tuntas secara klasikal), uji ketuntasan rata-rata (rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis kelas eksperimen lebih dari KKM). Dari tahapan uji tersebut dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi siswa pada model pembelajaran MEA mencapai ketuntasan, (2) Siswa dengan self efficacy tinggi dapat menggunakan semua indikator komunikasi matematis dengan maksimal. Sedangkan siswa dengan self efficacy sedang dan rendah belum bisa mengungkapkan ide-ide matematis secara maksimal. The purpose of this research is (1) to examine the exhaustiveness ability of students 'mathematical communication in MEA learning model, (2) to describe the ability of mathematical communication in terms of self efficacy. This research is a combination research (mix method) type concurred embedded, where qualitative research method is more emphasized. Data collection is done through (1) quantitative data collection with tests and questionnaires, (2) qualitative data collection with interview, observation, and documentation. The subjects of this research were students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Ungaran consisting of six people (2 subjects each with high, medium and low self efficacy). Determination of subjects use purposive sampling technique with selected 2 students in each group. The results showed: (1) assessment using classical exhaustiveness test (more than 75% of all experiment class students are classical completeness), average exhaustiveness test (average ability of students 'mathematical communication in experimental class more than KKM). From the test phase can be concluded that the students' mathematical communication in the learning model MEA were completeness, (2) Students with high self efficacy can use all indicators of mathematical communication with the maximum. While students with moderate and low self efficacy have not been able to express mathematical ideas with the maximum.

Abstract

Lima standar kemampuan matematis yang harus dimiliki siswa salah satunya adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Salah satu pendukung peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah adalah adanya self-efficacy pada diri siswa. Penerapan model pembelajaran ARIAS berpendekatan saintifik diharapkan efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran ARIAS berpendekatan saintifik yang telah ditetapkan dan menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari self-efficacy siswa dalam model pembelajaran ARIAS dengan pendekatan saintifik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kombinasi (mixed methods) dengan tipe strategi konkuren embedded. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Semarang dengan subjek penelitian diambil dari kelas eksperimen yang terdiri dari enam orang, yaitu masing-masing ada dua subjek dengan self-efficacy tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran ARIAS berpendekatan saintifik efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah berdasarkan uji keefektifan yaitu uji ketuntasan rata-rata dengan , uji proporsi dengan zhitung = 2,61 > ztabel = 1,65, uji perbedaan rata-rata dengan thitung = 2,309 > ttabel = 1,67, dan uji beda proporsi dengan zhitung = 1,87 > ztabel = 1,65. Selain itu, siswa dengan self-efficacy tinggi sudah mampu mencapai keempat aspek dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah, sedangkan self-efficacy sedang dan rendah belum mencapai secara maksimal keempat aspek dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah One of my five standards of mathematical ability that must be owned is solving ability. One of the supporters to increase Problem-Solving Ability is self-efficacy in students. The application of ARIAS approach model of scientific approach is expected to solve the problem that happened. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ARIAS model of with scientific approach that has been established and analyze the problem-solving abilities in terms of student self-efficacy in the ARIAS learning model with scientific approach. This research is a combination research (mixed methods) with embedded concurrent strategy type. The population in this study is the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 15 Semarang with research subjects taken from the experimental class consisting of six people, each of which there are two subjects with high, medium, and low self-efficacy. The results show that ARIAS Learning model with scientific approach is effective to improve problem solving ability based on the effectiveness test that is the average mastery test with , the proportion test with zhitung = 2,61 > ztabel = 1,65, test Average difference with thitung = 2,309 > ttabel = 1,67, and test the difference of proportion with zhitung = 1,87 > ztabel = 1,65. In addition, high self-efficacy students are able to achieve the four aspects of problem-solving ability, while moderate and low self-efficacy have not reached the maximum of four aspects of problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini secara khusus bertujuan untuk mendesain bahan ajar Aljabar Linear yang dapat memfasilitasi berkembangnya kemampuan pemahaman matematis mahasiswa. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pengembangan (Research and Development) yang terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu tahap pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan, dan tahap penyebaran. Agar diperoleh bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan harapan penelitian maka skema penelitian kali ini hanya sampai pada tahapan pengembangan. Pada tahapan pendahuluan dilakukan analisis profil mahasiswa meliputi analisis kemampuan awal matematis (KAM) mahasiswa dan motivasi belajar mahasiswa. Pada tahapan pengembangan dilakukan kegiatan validasi ahli dan uji praktikalitas terhadap bahan ajar. Hasil yang diperoleh pada tahap pengembangan adalah penilaian para ahli (validator) terhadap bahan ajar yang telah dirancang berada pada kategori valid dengan revisi kecil pada bagian soal-soal latihan. Hasil uji praktikalitas bahan ajar diperoleh persentase sebesar 87,81% dengan interpretasi sangat praktis. Sementara itu, hasil uji coba terbatas menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang telah dikembangkan dapat menuntaskan kemampuan pemahaman matematis mahasiswa baik secara klasikal maupun individual. This research specifically aims to design a Linear Algebra courseware that can facilitate the development of students' mathematical understanding skills. Research Methods used are the Research and Development which consists of three stages are the preliminary stage, development stage, and the stage of dissemination. In order to obtain the material that is in accordance with the expectations of research, the research scheme this time only to the stage of development. In the preliminary stage, student profile analysis includes analysis of students' prior mathematical knowledge (PMK) and student achievement motivation. At the stage of development carried out expert validation activities and practicality test of courseware. The results showing that the development stage is the assessment of the experts (validator) that have been designed to be in a valid category with a small revision on the part of the exercise. The result of the experimental test of the courseware obtained the percentage of 87.81% with very practical interpretation. Meanwhile, the results of limited trials indicate that the courseware that have been developed to complete the skill of students' mathematical understanding both in classical and individual.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the students’ learning quality on the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model nuanced ethnomathematics to students’ problem-solving abilities, and the patterns of problem-solving abilities of mathematics on the application of PBL nuanced ethnomathematics reviewed from Adversity Quotient (AQ) students. This is a mixed method research using a concurrent embedded design. Subjects in this study were determined based on AQ analysis using Adversity Response Profile (ARP) on tenth grade of pharmacy students of Vocational School of Muhammadiyah 3 Weleri, Kendal. Data collection techniques used in this research are observations, tests, and interviews. The results showed that learning with PBL model nuanced ethnomathematics gave impact on the quality to students’ problem-solving ability. The problem-solving ability of quitter students in solving problems is only up to the stage of understanding the problem. The NCTM indicator that can be achieved by quitter students is only the first indicator. Meanwhile the problem-solving ability of camper and climber students in solving the problem up to the re-checking stage. Camper and climber students can reach all NCTM solving indicators.

Abstract

Abst The purposes of this study are to (1) identify learning quality in Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) model (2) obtain mathematical connections ability based on artisan, guardian, idealist and rational personality types. This research is mixed method concurrent embedded design with qualitative research as the primary method. The type of this research is a quasi-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this research consist of 8 students XI RPL grade in SMK N 1 Kabupaten Semarang. Learning quality is assessed from the planning, implementation and evaluation stage. The result of this research shows that CUPs model in good criteria. Mathematical connection ability the artisan personality type reaches several indicators of mathematics connection, but they lack ability in using mathematical operation and can’t apply the concept and procedure relationship which have been given to the new situation. Mathematical connection ability the guardian personality type reaches several indicators of mathematical connections but they are less conscientious in their calculations. Mathematical connection ability of the idealist personality type reaches all indicators of mathematics connections. Mathematical connection ability of the rational personality type reaches all indicators of mathematics connections. rak ___________________________________________________________________ Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) medeskripsikan kualitas pembelajaran pada model CUPs (2) menemukan pola kemampuan koneksi matematik ditinjau dari tipe kepribadian. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian mixed method dengan desain concurrent embedded design. Penelitian kuantitatif dan penelitian kualitatif berjalan beriringan dimana penelitian kualitatif sebagai metode primer. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif yang digunakankan adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan Nonrandomized Control Group. Kualitas pembelajaran kualitatif dinilai dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran model CUPs berkualitas dalam kategori baik. Hasil validasi ahli pada tahap perencanaan, observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada tahap pelaksanaan dan hasil angket respon pada tahap penilaian masuk ke dalam kriteria minimal baik. Siswa dengan pembelajaran model CUPs mencapai ketuntasan belajar dan rata-rata kemampuan koneksi matematik siswa setelah dikenai pembelajaran CUPs lebih baik daripada rata-rata kemampuan koneksi matematik sebelum dikenai pembelajaran CUPs. Siswa dengan tipe kepribadian artisan sudah mencapai beberapa indikator kemampuan koneksi matematik, namun kurang lancar dalam menggunakan menggunakan operasi matematika serta belum dapat menerapkan hubungan konsep dan prosedur yang telah diberikan pada siatuasi baru. Siswa dengan tipe kepribadian guardian sudah mencapai beberapa indikator kemampuan koneksi matematik tetapi kurang teliti pada perhitungannya. Siswa dengan tipe kepribadian idealist sudah mencapai semua indikator kemampuan koneksi matematik. Siswa dengan tipe kepribadian rational sudah mencapai semua indikator kemampuan koneksi matematik. Abstract __________________________________________________________________ This study aims to: (1) determine the quality of the CUPs model qualitatively and quantitatively, (2) found a pattern of mathematics connections ability of students of class XI viewed by personality types. This study used mixed method with concurrent embedded design, which qualitative as a primary method. The design of quantitative research was quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The subject of this study were 11th grader students of SMK N 1, Kab Semarang. The quality of learning qualitatively assessed from the planning and preparation, implementation, and assessment. The quality of learning quantitatively was analyze using paired t-test and z-test.The resul ts showed that the learning by using CUPs model qualified both qualitatively and quantitativly. Students with artistic personality types have achieved some indicators of mathematics connection ability, but are less fluent in using mathematical operations and have not been able to apply the conceptual relationships and procedures that have been assigned to a new situation. Students with guardian personality types have already achieved some indicators of mathematics connection capabilities but are less conscientious in their calculations. Students with idealist personality types have achieved all indicators of mathematical connection capability. Students with rational personality types have reached all indicators of mathematical connection ability. © 2017 Universitas Negeri Semarang
Analysis of Mathematical Communication Ability and Curiosity Through Project Based Learning Models With Scaffolding

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) test the effectiveness of project based learning model with scaffolding in improving mathematical communication skills, and (2) to describe mathematical communication skills and students' curiosity through the project based learning model with scaffolding. This research uses approach of mix method of sequential explanatory type. The subject of the research are the students of VIIA class of State Junior High School 18 North Halmahera academic year 2016/2017. Techniques of collecting data by using tests, observations, questionnaires and interviews. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and statistical test of t comparison and regression effect test. The results showed that the model of project based learning with scaffolding was effective on mathematical communication ability. Mathematical communication skills and the curiosity character of upper and middle group students are categorized as good and in the high category, while the lower group is considered poor and still in low category. Abstract

The ability of students mathematical literacy (KLM) in MTs is still low because problems related to daily life are not used as the source of concept formation. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning with character of Islam effectively improves students KLM and analyzed. Type of research used mixed methods with concurrent embedded research design with two types of data. Quantitative data are the value KLM in pretest and posttest which is analysed by ttest, gaintest and qualitative through three procedures namely reduction, presentation and conclusion. The two classroom research subjects are experiment and expository. The result of this research experiment is effective, because (1) experiment KLM has reached classical completeness exceeding 75%; (2) improvement of student KLM on experiment higher than student expository. The ability of students mathematical literacy on the category is very good, good and good enough.

Abstract

Problem solving ability is one of the goals in learning mathematics and it can be developed by paying attention to student’s learning style. The aim of this study are to determine the quality of the Whole Brain Teaching learning assisted geogebra and found a pattern of problem solving ability of 8th grade students in problem solving viewed by learning style. The research uses mixed methods study with concurrent embeded design. The type of quantitative research is experimental research with nonrandomized control group. The subject of the research were 2 students of VIII-F, who chosen from each learning style. Quantitative data were tested by z-test and t-test, while the qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. Learning by Whole Brain Teaching assisted geogebra is qualified. Students of visual type can solve the problem well until the looking back stage. Students of auditorial type can solve the problem but have difficulty to looking back. Students of kinesthetic type can solve the problem but have difficulty in planning stage.
Students’ Mathematical Literacy Based on Self-Efficacy By Discovery Learning With Higher Order Thinking Skills-Oriented

Abstract

Purposes of this research are to describe the quality of Discovery Learning with higher order thinking skills-oriented to students’ mathematical literacy, to describe students’ mathematical literacy based on their self-efficacy, and to analyze the influence of self-efficacy towards students' mathematical literacy. This research uses mixed method by concurrent embedded design type. The subjects are the students of first grade of SMA Negeri 1 Slawi. Based on the three stages of learning quality, Discovery Learning with higher order thinking skills-oriented is qualified to student's mathematical literacy. In the case of aspect of the process of mathematical literacy, students with high self-efficacy are able to master the four aspects excellently, and they able to master the other three aspects well with some mistakes. Students with medium self-efficacy are mastering one aspect well, and cannot mastering the other six aspects well. Students with low self-efficacy cannot master five aspects maximally, and cannot master two other aspects. Mathematical literacy are influenced by self-efficacy about 34.6%.
