Abstract

Sustainable oil palm management in Landak Regency requires integrated policies that address economic, social, and environmental dimensions simultaneously. This study develops a policy-strengthening model for sustainable oil palm governance to support agricultural economic transformation. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 120 respondents (farmers, government officials, and business actors) through surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis. Path analysis was used to examine relationships among institutional capacity, policy effectiveness, and economic performance. Results show a moderate sustainability index (62.4), with the environmental dimension scoring lowest (53.5). Institutional capacity significantly influenced policy effectiveness (? = 0.64; p < 0.01), which in turn significantly affected economic performance (? = 0.42; p < 0.05). The proposed model integrates institutional strengthening, multi-actor collaboration, cross-sectoral policy integration, and capacity building to enhance sustainable oil palm governance and promote inclusive agricultural economic transformation.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the financial feasibility of Tahu 29 Home Industry, located in Tanjungrejo Village, Sukun District, Malang City. A descriptive method with a quantitative approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using cost and income analysis alongside business feasibility indicators specifically Break-Even Point (BEP), Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C Ratio), Payback Period (PP), Net Present Value (NPV), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The results indicate that Tahu 29 Home Industry is financially feasible, with both BEP production and BEP price analyses showing that the business operates above the break-even point. An average B/C Ratio of 1.00 reflects a break-even condition with growth potential, although the business remains sensitive to fluctuations in production costs. A Payback Period of 0.99 years demonstrates a fast return on investment. Furthermore, a positive NPV of Rp 705.511.174,61 and an IRR of 24.29% (exceeding the 15% discount rate) confirm that the business is profitable with strong development prospects. Based on these findings, the study recommends product diversification, stronger social media marketing strategies, and structured financial recording to support business sustainability and manage risks associated with raw material price volatility.

Abstract

The herbal plant Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata) is utilized in poultry as an alternative to Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGPs). This study aimed to analyze the potential of Sambiloto as an immunomodulator by assessing the weights of the bursa of Fabricius, thymus, and spleen. A total of 50 14-day-old male broiler chickens, basal feed, and Sambiloto leaf meal were used. The study employed an experimental design with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) comprising five treatments and four replications. The treatments included P0 (negative control without Sambiloto), P1 (positive control with commercial vitamins and no Sambiloto), P2 (feed supplemented with 5% Sambiloto meal), P3 (feed supplemented with 10% Sambiloto meal), and P4 (feed supplemented with 15% Sambiloto meal). All treatments were administered for 21 days. The observed variables were the relative weights of the bursa of Fabricius, thymus, and spleen. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan's Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The inclusion of Sambiloto leaf meal significantly affected the relative weights of the bursa of Fabricius and thymus, but had no significant effect on the relative weight of the spleen. The highest relative weight for the bursa of Fabricius was observed in P4  with 15% Sambiloto meal, whereas the highest relative weight for the thymus was in P1 with vitamin supplementation. The highest relative weight for the spleen was observed in P2 with 5% Sambiloto meal. Dietary supplementation of Sambiloto leaf meal at a dose of 10–15% has the potential to enhance the development of the bursa of Fabricius and thymus as a natural immunomodulator in broilers.

Abstract

Agricultural extension institutions are primarily responsible for enhancing extension worker competency, introducing technological innovations, developing and disseminating extension materials, and supervising field activities. In Dengkol Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency a key region for sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) cultivation this study evaluates the effectiveness of agricultural extension workers in supporting sugarcane farming and assesses farmer responses to these extension services. A descriptive quantitative design was employed, with primary data collected through questionnaires and interviews with members of the Dewi Sri Farmer Group. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and interpreted using an interval Likert scale. The analysis reveals that all variables influencing extension effectiveness performed exceptionally well. Specifically, extension frequency scored 78% (effective), while material quality (84%), extension methods (87%), worker competency (86%), facilities and infrastructure (89%), and farmer participation (89%) were all classified as very effective.
