Abstract

Research on the Development of Creative Writing Handout Based on Quantum Writing Method on Study Program D IV Bali State Polytechnic derives from the problem of lacking of the students’ interest in writing. This is not only caused by low level of students’ interest in reading but also by the use of conventional teaching method with text book style. Therefore, the objective of first year of this two year-planned research is to explore the handout.The existing exploration result of handout show that the handout do not explicitly discuss about creative writing or good writing technique. Based on that exploration, year one of this research has produced handout on Menulis Kreatif Berbasis Metode Quantum Writing. The draft of the handout is completed with teaching manual, lesson plan, syllabus, and assessment model. The draft of this handout has been validated by content and media validator on which the result needs to be revised again. The revision will be done in the second year.

Abstract

The development of tourism was so fast at the last decade, but it was lacked attention for the environment, culture and the welfare of the society, so that the alternative tourism accurred as a new concept in the development of tourism.The concept was quite different from the concept of the conventional tourism. This new concept was very wellknown as a modern tourism that put the natural and the cultural conventional as the priority and to increase the economy of local society or the local people, and finally this concept is known as the term ”Ecotourism”. The result of the seminar at the National Ecotorism in Bali that was held on August 25 until August 26, 2006 produced 9 principles of the ecotourism which could give the recomendations in relation to the Sustainable Tourism. The evaluation result of the principles and criteria of ecotourism at the natural tourist object Ijen Creater in Taman Sari Village, Banyuwangi in some cases it had the similarities with the principles and criteria of the formulation of the seminar and the course of ecotourism in 2006, which was used as the reference to measure the standard of the ecoturism which was legalized nationally that refered to the Green Globe 21 agreed and trusted internationally.

Abstract

Some time it is difficult to attract the students’ interest in learning English. One of the reasons why they are not interested in learning this language is because they are boring. To avoid this situation happen, the students are invited to work in multi media room. They are asked to listen to the tape and play asking and answering questions. By doing this kind of activity, it is hoped that the students will be eager enough to practice their English which have been learnt for long time. As it is said by Erlinda R. Boyle from Chinese University of Hong Kong in Forum Magazine Volume 31 Number 3 July 1993 page 36 as follow: “The ideal environment for improving in a second language is one where the target language is spoken and heard all the time”. From what it is mentioned above, it is known that the best way to learn foreign language is: live where that language is spoken.. According to Jeremy Harmer ( 2001:229) the advantage of learning English through listening tape is : “taped material allow students to hear variety of different voices apart from just their own teacher’s. It gives them opportunity to ‘meet’ a range of different characters”. This means that it is much better when we ask our students listen to the tape repeatedly, so they will be familiar with different character of voice. This influence their ability in comprehending what the people said.

Abstract

Tourism is like a fire, it can cook your food, but it can also burn your house Down”. Tourism effects to both negative and positive of human life especially to the local people where the tourism being developed. To minimize the negative impact and to maximize the positive one is required the involvement of Balinese traditional Village (desa pakraman) in tourism development, and tourism is expected to support the conservation of the nature environment, people and local culture and protect the negative impact to the young Balinese traditional people (Sekaa Teruna). Simple tourism is a best choice for the young generation because it can create or prevent the local knowledge/local genius. Unrealized there are two kinds of culture are owned by local people of Bali such foreign culture/tourism(touristic) culture and local culture cultural tourism. The Global Tourism/touristic culture must be implemented to create the convert of foreign tourist during their visit and the local culture must be conserved to attract and tide them in order to see, admire and enjoy it. Base on the above explanation as a religious social institution and as place of born, life, growth and developed of tourism, Balinese Traditional Village has the important role as a filter in protecting the tourism bad impact imported by foreign tourist. Abstract

This paper analyzes the role of tourism in supporting sustainable development, and economic empowerment. So far tourism has greatly contributed to the economic growth and employment, but it also worries because the negative impact caused is very complex, both in terms of social, cultural, economic, and natural resources and the environment. It is a paradox in the lives of mankind today especially associated with the current development paradigm, namely sustainable development that was declared by the United Nations through the Rio Summit, 1992, which aimed to conserve natural resources and the environment. To answer that, then it is pushed to streamline the model of tourism known as alternative tourism. How can the alternative tourism support sustainable development programs? That is what will be further discussed through this paper, and how it can empower a community economic development. This post data is collected from various sources of literature and other reliable sources on the internet, then analyzed and compiled into a complete text.

Abstract

This research tries to obtain certain information about such agents as company, association, potential delegates, PCO and destination attributes behind the decision making of meeting planner in determining MICE’s destination. The data of this research are gained from 7 international journal articles and book chapters relating to the topic of discussion. The methods of analysis is based on descriptive qualitative approach by describing the data as it is.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effects of the independent variables in this case brand of car for the average difference between the dependent variable, cash sales and credit sales. The method used in this study is the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The results achieved in this study is there is a difference in the Cash sales between car brands Ford and Nissan on Car Dealership in Bali which is seen from the figures significance is 0.005 <0.05, but no difference in credit sales between car brands Ford and Nissan on Car Dealership in Bali significance is seen from the figure 0.175>0.05. Thus the independent variables significantly influence brand only to dependent variable on cash sales, while the variables are not credit sales

Abstract

Development of the tourism sector in the province of Bali need to be developed in accordance with the conditions, potential and resources owned by each district in Bali. Tourism in fairly rapid growth requires new breakthroughs in anticipation of the saturation that may occur on tourists. Then came the development of tourism opportunities that promote the preservation of the natural environment in order to prevent destruction and/or environmental pollution caused by tourism activities, better known as the " Back to Nature ". Involvement as an alternative tourism attraction will provide an option for international travelers and domestic tourists to enjoy and extend their stay in Bali in particular and Indonesia in general. One of agrotourism development in Bali Bagus Agro Pelaga done by adding, promote or improve the necessary facilities and manage them well so crowded so interesting and beneficial to the government, investors and local communities. Development of the Agro done gradually and in accordance with the concept of development in the area of tourism development does not rule out the required resource sustainability for next generations..
