Abstract

Over the past few decades, technology has advanced at a tremendous pace, especially related to social robotics based on the Internet of Things has significantly influenced many aspects of human life. A concrete example of its application is a robot barista designed to interact and collaborate with humans, creating a new relationship between humans and machines. However, the presence of these robots also poses ethical challenges and professional responsibilities, especially regarding data privacy, security, and social impact. This research seeks to determine and assess the primary challenges robotics engineers face in designing safe and ethical robotics systems. Through a literature study approach that includes collecting, reviewing, and analyzing various relevant scientific sources related to ethical issues in robotics and IoT technology, it was found that robotics engineers must consider aspects of security and personal data protection as well as potential social impacts such as inequality and employment reduction. This research emphasizes the importance of ethics education and the establishment of high professional standards in addition to the need for clear ethical guidelines through cross-sector collaboration. Thus, the development of IoT-based barista robots is expected to not only drive technological progress, but also bring sustainable and responsible benefits to society.

Abstract

In the digital era, efficient data management is crucial for companies as Information Technology facilitates staff tasks and operations. However, some companies still face challenges with manual data management, such as time-consuming and paper-based overtime request forms. PT XYZ still uses manual overtime forms and requires a more efficient system. Therefore, a Web-Based Overtime Application was developed using Laravel, PHP, and MySQL to streamline the entry and storage of employee data and overtime hours. The Waterfall method was used in the design process, encompassing requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance, with data collected through interviews and observations. The research results indicate that this application improves company operations by automating the overtime request and approval process, and by facilitating the management and access to overtime data. Based on an average SUS score of 82, user acceptance falls within the "ACCEPTABLE" and "GOOD" categories. This research successfully produced a web-based overtime application at PT XYZ that meets user needs and enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of overtime management.

Abstract

The skin is the largest organ of the human body and has an important role to protect the internal organs of the human body from direct external interference such as sunlight and scratches from sharp or blunt objects. Without skin, our bodies will not be formed perfectly. Just like other organs of the body, if the skin is not properly cared for, it will cause skin diseases, although skin diseases are not too dangerous in human life, skin diseases can make humans feel uncomfortable. This skin disease has many types that are almost the same, therefore an expert system is needed to find out what type of skin disease we are likely to experience. This application is made web-based. The method used by this expert system is the Forward Chaining method, in this expert system it will show several questions or symptoms experienced, then after the user answers the available questions, the diagnosis results will appear. Based on the design of the creation and implementation of an expert system to diagnose skin diseases using the forward chaining algorithm, it can be concluded that the expert system for diagnosing skin diseases using the forward chaining algorithm can help in diagnosing skin diseases suffered or experienced by someone, this expert system for diagnosing skin diseases is very useful for many people to find out what type of skin disease they are suffering from considering the many types of skin diseases whose symptoms are almost similar, this expert system is very dependent on the ability of experts (doctors) who are the source of knowledge in research on this skin disease, and the expert system designed is web-based, making it easier for users to diagnose their diseases anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) applications have experienced significant growth in recent years. Despite this growth, the development methodologies for AR applications remain underexplored in academic research. Most existing approaches rely heavily on the general Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) This gap highlights the need for a more tailored development framework to effectively guide the creation of AR applications. To address this gap, this study proposes a specialized framework for developing AR applications. The framework refines and extends the MDLC methodology by integrating key elements tailored to AR-specific requirements. The proposed framework was tested through an extensive empirical study involving 10 development teams over the course of 2024. Each team utilized the framework to design and build an AR application tailored to their respective domains. The usability of the resulting applications was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS), a widely recognized metric for assessing user experience. The results were highly encouraging, with the average SUS score across all applications exceeding 70%, indicating a "good" level of usability. This outcome demonstrates the effectiveness of the framework in enabling the development of high-quality AR applications that meet user needs.

Abstract

Currently, student speculation on the performance of laboratory assistants varies greatly because there is no definitive data on their performance. Some students think that laboratory assistants do not do their job or speculate otherwise. The purpose of this study is to use a machine learning approach based on the Perceptron model to examine the level of student satisfaction with the services of computer laboratory assistants. Due to its effectiveness in binary classification, the Perceptron model was chosen. Using a questionnaire with two answer categories - “Yes” for satisfied and “No” for dissatisfied - 67 students at UIN SU's Computer Science Study Program provided survey results. Afterwards, the data underwent pre-processing steps such as normalization, numerical coding, and separation into training (80%) and testing (20%) data. Based on the training results, the Perceptron model consistently achieved 86% accuracy in both classes in terms of precision, recall, and F1-score. The strong performance of the model in identifying students' happiness and dissatisfaction is shown by the Confusion Matrix ranking. Both precision and recall were 88% for the “Dissatisfied” class and 83% for the “Satisfied” class. This shows that even with an unequal number of samples across classes, the model can effectively identify patterns in the data. The consistent performance of the model proves the effectiveness of this method in assessing the quality of laboratory assistant services. To improve learning in the laboratory, this research significantly advances the development of machine learning applications. Testing on larger and more varied datasets is recommended for additional validation to ensure the generalizability of the model.

Abstract

PT Indokarya Teknik is a company that operates numerous vehicles requiring regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance. However, the manual scheduling system currently in place often leads to delays, negligence, and inefficiencies in vehicle maintenance management. Therefore, this study aims to design and develop a Web-Based Vehicle Maintenance Scheduling Notification System with WhatsApp Gateway to automate maintenance schedule reminders for users or relevant technicians. The development of this system follows the Waterfall Model, which includes requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system is built using web-based technology with the Laravel framework and is integrated with a WhatsApp Gateway to send automated notifications to users. System testing is conducted using the Black Box Testing method to ensure that all features function according to the specified design. The results indicate that this system enhances efficiency in managing vehicle maintenance schedules, reduces the risk of missed schedules, and facilitates communication between the company and technicians through real-time notifications. With this system, PT Indokarya Teknik is expected to optimize its vehicle maintenance operations, thereby improving overall operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Abstract

To prepare students to face social, cultural changes, the world of work and rapid technological advances, student competencies must be prepared to be more in line with the needs of the times. The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka policy is expected to be the answer to these demands. Since it was first launched in 2020, this curriculum has been implemented with several challenges such as four-year education planning, converting online course grades, converting internship credits, building partnerships, and rebuilding academic and administrative systems. The challenges experienced during the implementation of the MBKM program were almost entirely related to administration or paperwork and a few technical obstacles in the process. To find out the level of satisfaction of the public with government policy, sentiment analysis is needed on user opinions regarding the implementation of the program. This sentiment analysis can group the polarity of the text in a sentence or document to find out whether the opinion in the sentence or document is positive or negative. The method used is Support Vector Machine (SVM). Acquisition of comments from X platform produces 500 comments which are then divided into 400 training data and 100 test data. The weighting method used is tf-idf and testing is carried out using SVM with linear kernel and rbf. From the test results, it was obtained that SVM with a linear kernel with a cost parameter (c) of 1 produced the highest accuracy, namely 84%. It is hoped that this research can be used as material for consideration to improve the implementation process of independent campus learning programs.
