Abstract

The current IS Society community website prototype is unable to optimally facilitate cross-cohort interactions and academic documentation. These functional limitations create a significant gap in fulfilling user needs. Therefore, this research applies the Design Thinking methodology to redesign and develop the IS Society academic community website prototype. The Design Thinking process integrates qualitative findings obtained from observations and semi-structured interviews with quantitative data collected through direct testing. The prototype was evaluated by 40 participants using the Maze platform to measure task performance and the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire to assess perceived ease of use. The results indicate an average direct success rate of 94.25% across eight task scenarios, with two scenarios achieving 100% success, and an average SUS score of 87.06, categorized as Excellent. These findings suggest that the prototype offers low cognitive load and efficient navigation. However, some issues remain regarding layout clarity and the visibility of interface elements, which led to user errors in the discussion and profile sections. Recommended improvements include emphasizing the visibility of main buttons, simplifying menu labels and symbols, and adding a short introductory guide for first-time users. Overall, this study demonstrates that the implementation of Design Thinking effectively guides data-driven iteration for the development of academic community websites and provides an evaluation framework that can be replicated in similar contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to design and build a calorie calculator web application based on the Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Studies (FNDDS) dataset from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as a tool for daily nutrition monitoring. The research method uses the Waterfall system development model, which includes needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The application is built in Python using the Flask framework and utilizes the Pandas library for nutrition data processing. The system is tested using black-box testing across all key features, including food search, category selection, and nutritional content calculation. The test results showed that all system functions ran with a 100% success rate in the functional test scenario and in the calorie, protein, fat, and carbohydrate calculations, according to USDA reference data. The average system response time is less than 1 second per request, indicating efficient application performance. The novelty of this study lies in integrating the scientifically standardized USDA dataset into a lightweight Python Flask-based web application specifically designed for the educational and daily nutrition-monitoring needs of users in Indonesia, with a weight-based approach to proportional nutrition calculation. This application is expected to become a web-based nutrition education medium that is easily accessible and further developed.

Abstract

The management processes for internship activities and document disposition at PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) are still carried out manually, leading to inefficiencies in document validation and tracking. This study focuses on the development of SIGAP PGE, a web-based information system that integrates internship modules and document disposition features to support the digitalization of internal administrative workflows. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was built using the CodeIgniter 4 framework, a MySQL database normalized up to the Third Normal Form (3NF), and employs Role-based access control to ensure data security. Based on Black Box Testing, all system functionalities operated as specified. Additionally, the ID Card validation process demonstrated a 62% improvement in efficiency compared to the previous manual procedure. Key features of the system include internship participant data management, four-level hierarchical validation, automated notifications, and real-time digital document disposition. The implementation of SIGAP PGE has enhanced efficiency, transparency, and administrative accountability within PGE. Therefore, this study concludes that a web-based integrated system significantly accelerates document validation and disposition processes in a structured corporate environment, while offering further development potential through RESTful API integration.

Abstract

The widespread adoption of digital technology in the healthcare sector has driven the need for transparent, secure, and reliable data management systems, especially those for sensitive patient data and the drug supply chain. Blockchain technology is seen as a potential solution due to its decentralised, immutable, and transparent characteristics. This study aims to identify and analyse the use of blockchain technology in the healthcare sector, focusing on patient data transparency and the efficiency of pharmaceutical supply chains. Using the PRISMA-guided Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research examines 18 Scopus-indexed articles (Q1–Q3) published between 2020 and 2025. The analysis shows that the Hyperledger Fabric platform and Permissioned Blockchain architecture dominate due to their efficiency and suitability for consortium-based systems. The main supporting technologies applied include smart contracts, IPFS-based off-chain storage, and consensus mechanisms such as PoA and PBFT. Empirically, the implementation of blockchain has been proven to improve transaction efficiency, supply chain traceability, and the integrity and security of patient data. However, technical challenges such as scalability, interoperability, and compliance with global privacy regulations remain obstacles. This study contributes by mapping healthcare blockchain architectures and technological trends, and by offering future research directions for performance optimisation and system adoption.

Abstract

In recent years, the adoption of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) has become an important part of the digital transformation in the healthcare sector. However, centralized EMR systems still face several challenges, including the risk of single points of failure and limitations in ensuring the integrity and security of patient data. This research aims to develop a prototype of a decentralized RME data storage system utilizing Blockchain and the Inter-Planetary File System (IPFS). The system is designed to support three main scenarios, namely patient registration, patient data search, and outpatient registration. Patient medical record data is stored off-chain on IPFS in JSON format, while metadata, including the Content Identifier (CID) and Population Identification Number (NIK), is stored on-chain on the Ethereum network using Smart Contracts. System evaluation was conducted by measuring gas consumption in patient data storage and outpatient registration functions. The results show that the patient registration function consumes a significantly higher average gas (380,907 units) than the outpatient registration function (51,540 units), indicating greater computational complexity. These findings also suggest that integrating blockchain technology with IPFS is a viable approach to building a secure, decentralized electronic medical record (EMR) storage system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and evaluate the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design of the Taekwondo Valentino Club website using a Design Thinking approach. The research was conducted within a community-based sports club characterized by non-technical users and a relatively informal organizational structure. The methodology followed the five stages of Design Thinking—empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test—with data collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and usability testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS). The study involved 41 respondents, including club administrators, coaches, and members. The evaluation results show an average SUS score of 83, placing it in the Excellent category. Overall, users did not exhibit negative perceptions regarding system complexity, consistency, or practicality. Task-based observation further indicated that the majority of respondents completed all usage scenarios without requiring additional technical assistance. The findings demonstrate that the Design Thinking approach is effective in producing an intuitive and easy-to-use UI/UX design that aligns with the needs of community sports club users. This study contributes to UI/UX research by highlighting interface requirement patterns specific to community-based sports organizations and supports ongoing efforts to digitize community sports club management.
