Abstract

Academic procrastination has a psychological impact on students in the form of negative emotional disturbances in students, such as anxiety and stress. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of classical format counselling guidance (BK) services in reducing students' academic procurement at SMK Kharismawita 2 Jakarta. The study used the experimental method of one group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 45 students in class X selected by purposive sampling. Academic procrastination instruments are used to measure changes in student behaviour. The study results showed an increase in the average score in all aspects after the service was provided. Although the N-Gain value in the category was low (0.3), the paired sample test showed significant changes in all aspects with a significance value of 0.000. Classical information services have been proven effective in increasing students' awareness of academic procrastination. The results of this study provide recommendations for counsellors in schools to utilize classical-based BK services as an intervention strategy in reducing students' overall academic procrastination behaviour.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the analysis of the development needs of genre-based Indonesian Electronic Student Worksheets. The result of this study is to determine the response of students and teachers to the development needs of E-LKPD Interactive Bahasa Indonesia. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods using instruments in the form of questionnaires and interviews to determine the needs of students and teachers in Indonesian learning. The development model in the development of student worksheets uses the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages namely Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate. Needs analysis data was obtained from 30 students and 2 homeroom teachers. Based on the results of research that has been done, it can be concluded that Electronic Student Worksheets are Indonesian indispensable in learning, especially writing materials. This can be seen from the results of teacher interviews and student questionnaire results which show that there are still limited LKPD and teachers rarely use technology-based media when learning in class. Students sometimes get bored and have difficulty in expressing ideas / ideas through writing, so the ability to write various types of texts is still lacking, with an average class score of only 63. Based on the questionnaire, 80% of students agreed that interactive Electronic Worksheets were developed, and based on interviews, all teachers agreed to develop Indonesian genre based Interactive LKPD.

Abstract

Traditional accounting teaching materials tend to be less engaging and do not always integrate practical approaches that can motivate students to understand the accounting cycle as a whole. The aim of this research is to produce a valid and practical teaching materials that can increase understanding of the accounting cycle with the help of Microsoft Excel software. This research is R&D research with the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study were 4th semester students of the Economic Education Study Program, FKIP, Sriwijaya University. Data was collected over a period of 4 months and obtained through the Needs Analysis Questionnaire, Validity Questionnaire, Practicality Questionnaire, and Test Questions.. The research results show that the teaching materials developed have met the Valid criteria with a percentage of 92.3% which is included in the Very Valid criteria. This teaching material is also considered practical with a percentage of 84% which is included in the Practical criteria. Apart from that, based on the results of calculating the N-gain value, it was found that this teaching material can improve understanding of the accounting cycle with an average N-gain of 0.98 which is included in the effective criteria. Based on the results obtained, the resulting teaching materials are highly recommended for use in increasing understanding of the accounting cycle. Experimental studies can also be carried out to see whether there is an influence on students' understanding of the accounting cycle before and after using this teaching material.

Abstract

Studies have demonstrated that students' problem-solving skills in Indonesia are still relatively low, necessitating a transformation in teaching methods to enhance these skills. This study aims to assess the implementation of the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach based on group discussions in improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) focused on improving the mathematical problem-solving skills of 36 students in class XI MIPA 5 at SMA Negeri 3 Denpasar. The implementation method is divided into two cycles with data collection techniques using mathematical problem-solving skills tests and observation sheets. The analysis of students' mathematical problem-solving skills in each cycle resulted in a percentage of students who achieved or exceeded the minimum mastery criteria score of 75. The results showed that the average score of all students in the Pre-Cycle stage was 30.72; the average score of all students in Cycle I reached 66.94; the average score of all students in Cycle II also showed a significant increase, reaching 81.22. The implications of this study highlight the importance of utilizing realistic problems in learning, such as PMRI, as well as group discussion methods with peer tutors in enhancing students' mathematical problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Each student represents mathematical concepts uniquely. Therefore, this study aims to investigate how variations in students' learning styles impact their ability to solve divergent problems that measure their capacity in mathematical representation. This study utilized a one-way ANOVA test and quantitative methodology. A total of 23 eighth-grade students from one of the junior high schools in Bandung were sampled. They were selected on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 94 eighth-grade students using a simple random sampling technique. Learning style questionnaires and mathematical representation ability tests with divergent geometry and linear equation problems were used to collect data. The results showed that learning style, at the 5% significance level, affected symbolic mathematical representation ability yet it did not affect verbal or visual mathematical representation ability. Students with visual learning styles performed best when answering problems using symbolic mathematical representation ability, based on further investigation using post hoc tests.

Abstract

Multicultural education becomes very important in diverse urban communities, especially in the context of Islamic schools. However, many challenges are faced in implementing multicultural values, such as the gap between teachings in school and the students social reality, as well as the limited support from parents and the community. This study aims to explore how MI Al Fithrah Surabaya strengthens the identity of multicultural education within an urban community. A qualitative approach was employed in this research, with data collection primarily through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that MI Al Fithrah has made efforts to integrate multicultural values into the curriculum and school activities, despite challenges such as the gap between school teachings and the social realities faced by students, as well as the limited support from parents and the community. To address these challenges, it is recommended to enhance teacher training, periodically revise the curriculum, and increase community involvement. These findings suggest that multicultural education at MI Al Fithrah has significant potential in shaping students into more tolerant individuals who are prepared to navigate diversity, although further support is needed to achieve optimal effectiveness. This study contributes to the understanding of the importance of multicultural education in Islamic schools, particularly within the context of diverse urban communities.

Abstract

Statistic emerges concern for social science students. Especially those who do not have sufficient mathematical experience, so they tend to build a negative paradigm towards statistics. The aim of this study was to build an argument related to the statistical attitude of social science students towards statistics and the statistical learning process through the integration of quantitative data and qualitative data, then proposes several important points to build effective statistics learning for social science students. Sampling of the number of Islamic Religious Universities in Jambi Province and the number of students used non-probability sampling. So that 3 universities and 375 students of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty were obtained who took the Education Statistics course in the 2021/2022 academic year. Dealing with the sequential explanatory model analysis, this study argued that high or low anxiety in understanding the material and anxiety in completing statistical tasks were influenced by statistics self-concept and statistical self-efficacy. Furthermore, several factors that cause low statistical self-concept and statistical self-efficacy and were followed by high statistics anxiety were math experience, online learning system, statistics teacher competence, and assignment of statistical tasks beyond normal limits.
