Abstract

Research about making of microcrystalline cellulose from stick bulrush ( Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) have done. From 300 g dry stick bulrush got 50,772 g microcrystalline cellulose. The loss on drying was about 5,57%. Characters a white, granular powder, odorless and tasteless. Identification with iodinated zinc chloride solution the substance becomes violet-blue. Solubility in the ammoniacal copper tetrammine solution it dissolves completely. Water-soluble substances the residue weighs is 0,085%. Starch with add iodine 0,05 M is negative (blue colour isn’t produced). The pH of the supernatan liquid is 5,46 and Hydration capacity is 3,504. Bulk and tapping densities is 0,251 and 0,374. Carr’s index and Hausner index  is 32,68 and 1,49. The inspection loss on drying, Characters organoleptic, Identification, Solubility in the ammoniacal copper tetrammine solution and Starch of result microcrystalline cellulose same with comparator (Vivacel pH 102) and fulfill conditions of British Parmacopoeia 2002.

Abstract

The optimation of production process of  bioplastic poly (3 - hidroxybutirat) (P(3HB) fermentation by Bacillus sp FAAC 20801 bacteria, using straw as carbon source has been carried out. Detection of P(3HB) produced using gas chromatography. The highest glucosa level obtain by using H2SO4 5% for hidrolisis. From 46800 mg straw (glucosa concentration 200 mg/mL) produce 5379 mg biomassa and 0.058 mg P(3HB) ; from 83400 mg straw (glucosa concentration 400 mg/mL) produce 5011 mg biomassa and 0.124 mg P(3HB) ; from 142800 mg straw (glucosa concentration 600 mg/mL) produce 3992 mg biomassa and 2.309 mg P(3HB).

Abstract

The determination of phenolic compounds and it’s antioxidant activity of a few tea samples of sacked tea and unsacked tea which is found at the market has been done. The Acquisition of phenolic compound content done by using Folin-Ciocalteau method and it’s antioxidant activity measurement using DPPH as an oxidant (free radical), gallat acids used as the comparison. The results showed that four samples tested unsacked tea KA has the strongest antioxidant activity among the other three samples, because It has the lowest IC50 value. The  IC50 value influenced by it’s phenolic concentration. The phenolic content from unsacked tea KA obtained 39.5487 mg/g, while on samples of tea sacked KA, sacked SW, and unsacked 2K respectively:  19.754 mg/g; 33.9279 mg/g ; and 27.9814 mg/g.

Abstract

The effect of ethanolic extract of Nothopanax scutellarium. Merr on liver function and urine creatinine level of male white mices had been done. The extract was administered orally with variation of dose at 150, 300, 600 mg/kg BB one times a day for 15, 30, 45 days. As a control group was used male white mices that administered only Na CMC 0,5% solution. The result showed that administered of ethanolic extract Nothopanax scutellarium. Merr at variation of dose did not influence on liver function and urine creatinine level (p>0,05).

Abstract

The effect of the pumkin juice Cucurbita moschata (Duch.) Poir. on the ulcer of white female rat  induced by absolut ethanol was investigated using oral method. With The reseveral doses 0.4 ; 0.8 ; and 1.6 ml/200 g body weight doses. The result showed that the juice with 0,4, 0,8, and 1,6 ml/200 g body weight dose were able to cure the ulcer with curative ratio for each rasio dose are 22.22 %, 52.89 % and 71.04 %. It’s shows that higher dose give better result. The juice can also significantly decrease the gastric pH of rat induced by ethanol absolut to it’s normal value (P<0,05).

Abstract

Has been researched about  microencapsulation of paracetamol with solvent evaporation method using polymer sodium carboxymetil cellulose (NaCMC). Determination of paracetamol level carried out by UV Spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 243,5 nm, the dissolution test using solution phosphate buffer with pH 5,8 and the method used is Metoda Dayung. From the research result, obtained dissolution rate microcapsules of paracetamol on formula 1 is higher than formula 2 and 3. This is because in formula 2 and formula 3 show the addition of coating as a microcapsule wall – forming wich will reduce the speed of drug release. Model kinetics of active ingredient release from microcapsules of paracetamol following the zero order and first order.

Abstract

Study about sub acute toxicity of jati leaf extract toward white male mice has been done, which consist of SGPT activity for liver function test, creatinine clearance for kidney function test and organ’s weight ratio. The extract was administered orally once a day for 15, 30 and 45 days with variable dose of 150, 300 and 600 mg per kg body weight. The result showed that there were no significant effect of jati leaf extract administration to the SGPT activity, kidney function and organ’s weight ratio (p > 0.05).

Abstract

The determination of cytotoxic of the marine sponge Petrosia sp. using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test has been done. The cytotoxic activity analysis were done toward condensed extract, n-hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol fractions  and yielded LC50 value 70.736 ppm, 269.153 ppm, 197.38 ppm and 70.667 ppm respectively. It shown that butanol fraction was more cytotoxic than the other fractions.
