Abstract

This research is to describe the role of social worker dedicating unit on giving guidance children social welfare program (PKSA), as national priority through presidential instruction No 3, 2010 on justifiable development. PKSA isdesigned to protect and give services for children basic right, covering love, protection, sustainable live, grow and develop, that of several reasons their family could not fulfil them. The PKSA implementator is social worker dedicating unit or volounteer, graduated from bachelor or full degree of social work school, through selection, education, and appointment as contract social worker. Research location in Jambi Municipality, because in that municipality found many children problems and social worker that guide in solving the problem. Data are analised with qualitative technique. The research finds that the existence of social worker as children problem solving guidance is diterminative on the succes of the program. The role of social worker is helpful in giving service and guidance to the children. The handicap factor is the location that far in distance and found only one social worker in one municipality, not in balance with the quantity and quality of the problem. The salary also too small and coming late, no motorbike facility that makes social worker working with less enthusiasm. The supporting factor is sinergy among stakeholders commited to children problem. It recommended to the ministry of social affairs, especially the directorate of children affairs, should keep the existence of social worker and add its quantity in every municipality given the number of the increasing children problem.

Abstract

The current social services as present are still sectoral, fragmented, limited outreach, respond only actual problem, output based on budget absorbtion, they have not yet reached outcome and impact. Law No 11, 2009 and Government Regulation No 39, 2012 state that social service should be acted orientically, integratedly, and continously by government and community. Social Ministry Decree No 50/HUK/2013 on, integrated social service and movement toward regency/municipality welfare, answers the need of integrity and community participation. An implementation of integrated social service in Payakumbuh Municipality is a program use action research approach that took three years (2013-2015)of implementation. The first year, was to shape Anak Nagari social service unit (UPT-KAN). The second year was focused on the implementation of social service as community claims began. Guidance and advocation in the third year succesfully set social welfare institution (LKS), named Mitra Kenanga, functioned as an institution that diburse community fund as UPT-KAN operationalitation, targeted data base making, and socialization on the institution existence. Fun resources of UPT-KAN hailed from social and menpower and health agency, BAZ, Mitra Kenanga, and CSR. The existence of UPTKANin its application has proved poor community and people with social welfare problem easily to get base social service especially those have been untouched by regular social service program.

Abstract

The existence of street children in various areas need special handling, problems related with them are education, abandonment, violence, discrimination and child labor. The local government of Sleman Regency initiates street children handling through a masterplan made through assessment, focus group discussion held with stakeholders related to street children handling, and comparative study in order to make a coprehensive masterplan. The research uses qualitative descriptive approach. Data are gathered throuh interviews with numbres of street children, stakeholders related to street children (government and non-government), and street children guides. The masterplan is designed to handle and overcome streetchildren problems totally, coordinated, continue, and functioned as guidance for stakeholders related to children issues having the same perception toward street children.

Abstract

This study is to know the local culture and teaching strategies on strengthening the economy of the people in Bira village. The research question is how economic portrait of Bira village people and how is the role of local cultural andteaching strategies on strengthening the economy? The method used is qualitative research, through sociological approach, an approach that analyzes the social condition of the society as a whole among and its relation among the members in the community. Data premier source are women of Bira community, religous, local formal and informal, tourism figures, and related books as secondary data. Data are gathered through observation, interviews and document documentary analysis, data then analyzed through qualitative technique. The research shows that women are the backbone of the economy, after losing their husbands, through a weaving economic activity. There are two types of weaving apparels, namely Traditional Looms (TL) and Manual Looms (ML). The role of local culture and propagation strategies in strengthening the economy of Bira village people is sincere intention to be introduced in work, strengthen work ethic as part of Islamic teachings, teaches the importance of the honesty value and trustworthiness, instill values mandate in work and push to manufacture in woven gloves periodically as part of the local culture that needs to be preserved.

Abstract

This research done to know the degree of success on homeless expsychotic rehabilitation seen from misconduct behavior aspect. Research location was at Pojoreken Homeless Institution, Medan Municipality, North Sumatera Province.Data gathered through documentary analysis of 15 files of moderate ex-homeless psychotic at the institution. Data are analysed through qualitatif-descriptive technique, on the degree of success of guidance, self and social realization, social integration, work skill and vocation seen from misconduct behavior during rehabilitation. The research found that the ability of self and social realization, social integration after rehabilitation was not significant, execpt in work and vocational skills. The degree of fequency of misconduct behaviors do not immidiately change the ability of self and social realizations, social integration, except in work and vocational skills. Those because there was psychological and social problems, indicated in continously labil emotion that manifested through “smiling”, talk with him/herself, angry without any reason, retreat, easy-go, egoism, rage violently, confused, rejection, reluctant, strained, self hurting, lazy, steal, seek for rejected things, litering, silence, do not want bathing, talk all times, hurt others, and go anywhere. The research recommends that the guidance should be held continously, aspecially after rehabilitation and back to the community. Guidance should be given by those who understand on characteristic of homeless psichotic. It needs socialization among communities on homeless psichotic characteristic and services they need.

Abstract

House is one the basic of need, as a place of rest and refuge from a variety of situations and threats. House is as well as a medium for the creation of social interaction, cultural tranfer, implementattion of family education, and evenbecomes a status symbol. For the moyority of people considered a poor family, house is just as a given regardless of its feasibility in terms of physical, mental and social. Jam’iyyah foundation ar Rahmah Kuwait, one of social organizationhelped Indonesian government in overcoming poverty through ininhabitable home repairement. Aid amounting to Rp 650 million for 65 housing units concentrated in rural districts Sidorejo, Bandongan, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. Activities came out with the involvement of cadres of disaster preparedness, youth, social workers (PSM), social workers districts (TKSK) and scouts. Community participation were in the form of money, goods, energy, and mind. This success can not be separated from the role of village offials; community leaders, who facilitated for formation of the committee and mobilize communities to work together; Camat (district leader) role in facilitating the proposal; and local goverment in funding home improvements and refining. Home improvement which was originally planned only for impermanent purpose, became permanent new home with tiled floors and walls.

Abstract

This essay writen based on research on trauma healing among children victims of Sinabung eruption in North Sumatra. Research method was survey and sixty children victims of Sinabung eruption were chosen as respondents. Traumahealing handling done by a coordinated and integrated between the involvement of the whole society, NGOs, businesses and government agencies. The research found that 60 respondents 47.69 persen were boys and 52.31 persen were girls.Level of education, from primary school 76.93 persen, junior high school 15.38 persen and senior high school was 7.68 persen. The distributed questioaires answered by respondents showed there were three sacales, namely children stress symtom, children traumatic symtom, and violent symptom at refugees camps which were still be tolerated in numbers. Availability of psychological treatments were trauma healing, like singing, dancing, and drawing. It is suggested to the goverment, especially Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Affairs, and related agencies in providing assistance to the victims should conduct an analysis on the rght benefit and target.

Abstract

This paper offers solutions for social workers in the treatment of autism in terms of social interaction problem. Social workers can practice it on the field in an attempt to deal with autism in social interaction through performing several approaches. Currently, many social workers do not know how to deal with autism who have problems in their social interactions, whereas the responsibility of social workers tasks are relegating autists in the community. This paper offers two forms of treatment of autism, early treatment and integratedhandling. This has become the focus of discussion in this paper to guide social workers no longer face trouble in handling social interaction of children with autism, whichusually has been a problem in the fieldfor social workers.
