Abstract

This study was prepared with the aim of increasing interest and learning activeness in achieving students' understanding of history learning using the application of timeline learning media in class XI F2 students of SMA Negeri 3 Ciamis in the 2024-2025 school year. This type of research is classroom action research with instruments of interview sheets and observation sheets. The subjects of this study were students consisting of 34 students. The object of this research is students' understanding of history learning. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of tables and graphs. The results showed an increase in activeness and interest in learning in cycle 1 by 26% to 79% in cycle 2, then the understanding of learning the history of students in cycle 1 amounted to 67.6% then in cycle 2 increased to 88.23%. This means an increase of 30.3%. Thus the use of timeline learning media in history subjects can increase interest and activeness in achieving the learning understanding of students in class XI F2 SMA Negeri 3 Ciamis.

Abstract

The research aims to explore the application of historical story texts as a teaching medium in an effort to improve student literacy at SMA Negeri 2 Ciamis. The research using the Classroom Action Research method follows the Kemmis and McTaggart (1988) model which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of the study was 34 students in class X E 2. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and literacy tests before and after the implementation of teaching media. The results of the study show that the use of historical story texts can increase students' literacy and understanding of historical materials, as well as improve social-emotional skills, critical thinking, analytical, and empathy. This can be seen from the increase in the average student literacy score from 74% in the pre-action to 91% in the second cycle. In addition, learning activities showed a significant increase, with active participation in class discussions and group assignments. Literacy includes pre-reading, reading, and post-reading activities, which are applied through group discussions and analysis of the story texts of the novels "Laut Bercerita" and "Salt to the Sea". Through interactive discussions, they share perspectives, debate interpretations, and deepen their understanding of history. This study concludes that the application of historical story texts as a teaching medium is effective in improving students' literacy, as well as providing recommendations for the use of similar methods in their learning.

Abstract

Perjuangan Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX dalam mempertahankan kedaulatan Republik Indonesia (RI) selama Agresi Militer Belanda II (1948-1949) merupakan sebuah babak penting dalam sejarah kemerdekaan Indonesia. Penelitian bertujuan menggali peran dan kontribusi Sultan dalam mendukung pemerintahan Republik, terutama saat Yogyakarta menjadi ibu kota negara. Dalam konteks tersebut, Sultan tidak hanya memberikan dukungan moral tetapi juga material dengan meminjamkan gedung-gedung milik kesultanan untuk keperluan pemerintahan dan membuka kas kerajaan untuk membiayai aktivitas pemerintahan RI di Yogyakarta. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif, dengan menggunakan analisis historis sebagai metode utamanya yang meliputi; koleksi heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan sintesis historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap konsisten Sultan dalam memperjuangkan kedaulatan RI tidak hanya mencerminkan komitmennya sebagai pemimpin daerah, tetapi juga sebagai simbol persatuan bangsa dalam menghadapi ancaman dari luar. Perjuangan beliau pada masa itu merupakan babak penting dalam sejarah perjuangan kedaulatan Negara. Kontribusinya tidak hanya sebatas simbol-simbol belaka; ia aktif memobilisasi sumber daya, mendukung operasi militer, dan memupuk persatuan di antara rakyat Indonesia. Dengan demikian, kontribusi Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam mempertahankan eksistensi Republik Indonesia pada masa yang krusial ini.
