We examined the proposed model that links corporate ethics,CSR, corporate reputation, and perceived risk in the case of controversial products thatoffers by company, especially on cigarette products. As one of the doers in Indonesiantobacco industry, PT. Djarum implemented many CSR programs including educationalinitiatives. This research was conducted in the Faculty of Economics and BusinessDiponegoro University as a recipient of PT. The sampling method which was usedfor this research was a non-probability sampling with convenience sampling technique. Byusing the structural equations model with AMOS software to examine the proposed model, this research indicated that the more well-defined of corporate ethics statements lead tobetter evaluation of CSR activities;the better evaluation of CSR activities lead to goodcorporate reputation, but did not lead to lower perceived risk; the good corporate reputationlead to lower perceived risk; and the more well-defined of corporate ethics statements didnot lead to lower perceived risk. Based on Sobel test results, this research indicated thatperceived CSR has a significant role in enhancing corporate reputation which in turnreducing perceived risk.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to select the undervalued stock based on the Jensen's model approach. Data used is monthly stock return for 24 months during period of the year 2004 to 2005. Population used is 314 kind of stocks. The result of stock selection shows average undervalued stock of 53 or 17% of stock available for the year 2005. By experiment of 6 kind of initial set, 1 month lead time and 12 time training set, the result shows that the Jensen's model is not enough accurate to estimate the return for the next one month. The average monthly expected return of 13,7% and actual return of 2,9% shows the difference statistically significant. Eventhough, the actual return 2,9% still higher than market return IHSG BEJ of 1,6% on the monthly average. The correlation between the past stock performance and the future stock return is negative and not significant. The difference between return of high past stock performance and low past stock performance is not significant. The correlation between past beta and stock return is not significant. The difference between return of high past beta and low past beta is not significant.

Abstract

Rural development is a spotlight during 2015 – 2019. Two issuesin the development of rural communitiesare the fact that in the past two decades, the development progress has only been focused on urban areas while in general our country the development has been dominated by rural areas and despite various efforts and rural development programsinitiated by the government in the New Order era, the socio-economic conditions of rural communities are still very far from the expected (alarming). This study aimed to develop local potential-based entrepreneurship model in Kangean islands. The development of the model becomes a model of rural settlement issues, particularly on islands. Entrepreneurship development model includes upstream downstream of local potentials capable of being expanded in agricultural and marketing sectors to become one of the tourism objects. This study used multi-methods analysisby applying LoqationQuotion (LQ) method, SWOT analysis, trend analysis, and analysis of CommunityEconomic Empowerment in agriculture and marine. The strategic value and objectiveof the study was toprovide important information on the local potentialsin Kangean islands. The results of the study indicated that the local potentials in agricultural and marine sectors could be used as tourism object. The Development model of local potential-based tourism object was intended to promotelocal potentials while maintaining the local wisdom, such as the character and local cultures.

Abstract

The study attempts to analyze the factors of capital structure determiner and its impact on company value. The research aims at examining and analyzing the effect of profitability, size, growth opportunity, asset structure, cost of financial distress, and tax shields effects as the capital structure determiners on the manufacturing companies registered at Indonesia Stock Exchange. The differences between the factors of capital structure determiners (consisting of profitability, size, growth opportunity, asset structure, cost of financial distress, and tax shields effects) and the value of manufacturing companie registered at Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample includes 59 companies registered at Indonesia Stock Exchange the data analysis instrument employed was Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and t-test. The results of the research indicate that the factors of capital structure determiners, which have significant effect on capital structures, are profitability, size, growth opportunity, asset structure and cost of financial distress. The exception may be tax shields effects, which do not give significant effect at all on capital structure. The latter becomes evident because the depreciation and amortization rates of the registered Indonesia manufacturing company do not seem significant to contribute to company cash flow so that it stands out of company debt proportion. The factors of capital structure determiners with significant effect on capital structures involve profitability, size, asset structure, and cost of financial distress and tax shields effects. Size and growth opportunity do not have significant effect on the capital structure because manufacturing companies consider financing their investment using equity financing to deal with little financial risk regardless the size of company. It shows that there is a similarity on these factors of capital structure determiner between manufacturing company registered at Indonesia Stock Exchange the insignificantly defferent determiner factors pertain to growth opportunity, asset structure and company value. Meanwhile, the difference also develops between the factors of capital structure determiner in the manufacturing company registered at Indonesia Stock Exchange. The significantly different determiner factors will be profitability, size, cost of financial distress; tax shields effects and capital structure.
