Abstract

New normal is a transition from pandemic to normal. This transition period certainly has an impact on the behavior of users in using the library, due to the culture of using digital media in meeting information needs during the pandemic. The condition that occurred in the UIN Sunan Ampel library was no exception. This study aims to determine the level of visits and borrowing as well as user behavior during the new normal period. Based on the results of research using descriptive qualitative methods with a sample of one hundred respondents, it shows a tendency that the frequency of visits is once a week with a duration of one hour. The need for a visit is to complete lecture assignments and read collections. In terms of discipline and user compliance with rules and regulations, it is still relatively high, namely, by always carrying and scanning KTM when entering. The collection services that are most in demand are General and Reference. Meanwhile, in terms of procedures for browsing collections, the majority of users choose to go straight to the shelves.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the role of Taman Baca Tanah Ombak in improving health literacy competencies during the pandemic, (2) describe children's health literacy competencies during the pandemic, (3) describe the relationship of the role of Taman Baca Tanah Ombak to children's health literacy competencies during the pandemic. This research uses a type of quantitative research using descriptive methods. The population and samples in this study were children of regular visitors to Taman Baca Tanah Ombak which amounted to 25 respondents. The instrument used in the study was a questionnaire as the main data source. To analyze the data in this study using spearman rank correlation. The results of this study, namely (1) Taman Baca Tanah Ombak has played a very good role based on respondents' responses to 13 items of questions indicators of the role of community reading parks with a score of 3.46 with excellent categories. (2) the competence of children's health literacy – children of visitors to Taman Baca Tanah Ombak has been very well proven based on respondents' responses to 11 items of health literacy indicator questions with a score of 3.33 with a very high category. (3) Taman Baca Tanah Ombak has a significant relationship thanks to the category while Taman Baca Tanah Ombak has a role of 26% while the remaining 74% is influenced by other factors not studied in this study.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to find out an overview of reading cafes that are friendly to people with disabilities. Literature review as a method of writing this article by looking for relevant theoretical references from various sources of books and journal articles. Sources of data for this writing are compiled from several sources of documents, scientific journals and textbooks. Collecting data from observations of various information contained in journals, books and serials related to topics related to reading cafes that are friendly for disabilities. This writing data analysis uses descriptive narrative. The result of writing this article is necessary to pay attention to facilities that are easily accessible for people with disabilities. Starting from disabilities that have visual impairment, deafness, reading difficulties, physical and cognitive disorders. In addition, the facilities, policies, services and programs provided for persons with disabilities will be able to develop and enhance creativity, achievement and more productive self-development and to create a reading cafe that is friendly to persons with disabilities and must pay attention to access to information that is in accordance with the needs of persons with disabilities.

Abstract

The activities carried out by the organization will certainly create and produce a lot of archives. The archive becomes a document that must be maintained and cared for. The purpose of the research are to find: (1) The system of records management in the Kecamatan Bekasi Utara Office. (2) Obstacles experienced on records management in the Kecamatan Bekasi in Kecamatan Bekasi Utara office. The method that is used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques that are used are observation, interviews and document study. The result of this study indicates that records management in the Kecamatan Bekasi Utara Office carried out in several stages, namely the creation of archives, use of archives, maintenance of archives and archive shrinkage. The storage system used is based on index and numeric. The management principle applied is centralization-decentralization. Obstacles experienced on records management are lack of available facilities and infrastructure, no special budget given, maintenance of rooms that have not used air conditioning, and a digital (computerized) management and storage system has not been implemented.

Abstract

Librarian ethics in providing acceptable service is very important, where there are many impacts that are given to users when the services provided are deemed not good. Therefor the importance of librarians in having good ethics, solely to provide good service with good quality to users, so that users will feel satisfied with these services as explained by Prakoso (2015: 44) regarding ethics, explaining that This ethic for a person or a group of people makes the handle to regulate their behavior in accordance with the values and norms contained therein. Meanwhile, what is contained in the Law No. 47 of 2007 concerning Libraries. Explaining that 'library services are carried out in an excellent manner and are oriented towards the interests of the visitors. So excellent service in customer-oriented is the key to the quality of library services. 'Therefor the importance of having good ethics to provide good service with good quality.

Abstract

User education is material about libraries that are given to users. Libraries provide user education so that users know how to use the library. There are still users who do not understand using the library, which makes the writer interested in researching the importance of user education to maximize the use of the library at SMKN 1 Bandung. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach, where data is obtained using a questionnaire distributed using google forms. The population in this study were users of SMKN 1 Bandung, which amounted to 30 users. The study results revealed that user education in the library of SMKN 1 Bandung was carried out by providing various methods of user education for school residents. Pustaka revealed that user education provided by the library of SMKN 1 Bandung is considered essential and helps users use or utilize various library services and facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of digital collection services at the Padang State University Library UPT using the EUCS (End User Computing Satisfaction) model. This study uses a quantitative type with a descriptive method. The population in this study is the average number of visitors who come to the digital collection service at the Padang State University Library from January to December 2021 totaling 3,112 members with a sample of 97 people. Sampling was determined based on a simple random sampling technique, namely a random sampling technique without regard to the existing strata in the population. The results of this study are the use of digital collection services at the Padang State University Library UPT using the EUCS (End User Computing satisfaction) model with 5 dimensions with an average score of 3.19. The content dimension obtained an average score of 3.26 which is on a positive interval scale, namely there is user satisfaction because digital collection services provide information according to user needs and have complete information. The accuracy dimension obtained an average score of 3.11 which is on a positive interval scale, namely there is user satisfaction because the information generated by digital collection services is accurate. The format dimension obtained an average score of 3.14 is on a positive interval scale, namely there is user satisfaction. The aesthetic/beauty side of the interface contained in the digital collection service system has an effect on both the search and the information displayed in PDF form. The ease of use dimension obtained an average score of 3.19 on a positive interval scale. There is user satisfaction due to the ease of users in accessing information, clarity of instructions in accessing information on digital collection services, adequacy of computers and users finding information with the keywords used. The timeliness dimension obtained an average score of 3.23 which is on a positive interval scale, namely there is user satisfaction because digital services provide the latest information provided on digital services and the desired information.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the benefits of the Mendeley application for students inwriting scientific papers for library and information science students using the ISO/IEC9126-2 Usability measurement method based on the four characteristics as indicators,namely Understandability, Learnability, Operability, and Attractiveness. This study used anexperimental method, namely pre-experimental designs. Pre-Experimental Designs Thisresearch is a design that includes pre-test, treatment and post-test. The population in thisstudy were library and information science students class of 2020. The number of samplesin the study were 47 people. The sampling technique is basic accidental examining(inadvertent inspecting), namely distributing questionnaires to respondents using Googlestructure via the WhatsApp application. The results of the pre-test showed that theunderstanding level of the Mendeley application reached 2.66%, the operability level of theMendeley application reached 2.15%, the learnability level of the Mendeley applicationreached 1.51 %, and the attractiveness of Mendeley applications is 3.11%. The results of thepost test showed that the understanding level of the Mendeley application reached 7.11%,the operability level of the Mendeley application reached 10.4%, the learnability level of theMendeley application reached 3.45 %, and the attractiveness of the Mendeley application is7.55%. From the pre test results, the post test results increase in the utilization andoperation of the Mendeley application. Based on these results it is concluded that theMendeley application has been utilized by users properly.

Abstract

Preventive preservation is an attempt to prevent damage to a collection done in a library. One of the activities programs found in preventive preservative is a program of educational activities. These activities are carried out to librarians as well as to library users. The study aims to understand the program of educational activities in preventive preservative attempt in the FIB Unpad library. This article USES qualitative descriptive research methods with data collection techniques through literature, interviews and observations. As a result of this study, the fib unpad library conducts a program of educational activities for librarians of formal and nonformal education. Formal education is given through klate and nonformal programs through seminars. The program of educational activities for the user was provided with the effort to stick warning signs and sanction them to unregulated users.

Abstract

Literacy hegemony is currently formed by the cultural practices of the dominant social group, in this case, adult humans. The whole practice is seen from the eyes of adults as a form of the legitimacy of power. Since 2017 the phenomenon of children's involvement in literacy practices has increased. Even though children work together with adults in their operations, they are able to accommodate their needs well. This article tries to look at communication activities that occur in the phenomenon of children's involvement in literacy practices in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The writing of this article is based on the theory of symbolic and sociocultural interaction with a constructivist approach. The research informants consisted of 5 elementary school children in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province who had a consistent and measurable literacy trajectory and were involved in various literacy practices from 2017 to 2019. The results showed that communication activities in children involved in literacy practices partially begin early, intensely, and in a conducive communication environment. The presence of parents or adults around the child is decisive. Creating space for discussion and children's participation through play activities and text media forms interactions that help children's cognitive and affective development, encouraging children's involvement in literacy practices
