Abstract

Early Warning Score (EWS) is tool that could be applicated to know the early deterioration of the patient. There are seven criteria/indicator in the EWS, these are temperature, O2 saturation, heart rate, O2 supplement, systolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, consciousness. The ability to know the worsening condition in these seven indicators will help the medical team to give prompt treatment to the patients.  Wates General Hospital is one of the hospitals in Indonesia that has carry out the EWS system.  There is no research conducted on Early Warning Scores in that hospital. The objective to look at the risk of non-compliance with the implementation of EWS on the patient's mortality rate and to see other risk factors for patient mortality. This is an analytic observational study with a case-control retrospective design. Calculation of samples in the case and control groups with purposive sampling method with a total sample of 328 consisting of 82 cases (mortality) and 246 control groups (no mortality patients).  Data analysis bivariate data is analized with statictic chi square test and logistic regression. Results The risk for non-compliance to EWS implementation is significantly affect the patient mortality with p-value score of 0,001 (p<0.05). Other risk factors that significantly affect the patient’s mortality are patient severity level, heart disease, stroke, pneumonia, and sepsis. Compliance with the EWS protocol is statistically significant correlation with patient mortality. Implementing good EWS will help medical tim to know early the patient's condition. patient mortality is significantly affected by non-compliance with EWS implementation.

Abstract

Birth weight in infants is associated with a decrease in the immune system of pregnant women, one of which can be caused by iron deficiency, for this reason, it is necessary to have blood-added tablets for pregnant women to avoid anemia. but in fact, there are still many pregnant women who do not comply with the rules of consuming blood-added tablets. this will impact the occurrence of pregnancy problems or cause the baby to be born to have a low weight. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between adherence to taking blood tablets and the incidence of low birth weight. Using an observational design with a cross-sectional approach with a sample of 32 people using total sampling, the data obtained were analyzed using chi-square The results obtained p-value is 0.401, which means that there is no significant relationship between adherence to blood-added tablet consumption and the incidence of low birth weight. Compliance with blood tablet consumption does not directly relate to the incidence of low birth weight.

Abstract

The use of contraceptives in couples of childbearing ages will have an impact on births, the more children are born, the more costs will be incurred to support children and will have an impact on children's health. Growth and development are two events that are different, but interrelated and difficult to separate. The Family Development Program for Toddlers and Children is one of the efforts to foster and increase family planning participation for families of toddlers in supporting the realization of a happy and prosperous small family. This study aims to analyze the effect of family participation in childcare and development and BKB in West Java Province. This type of research is an analytic survey with a cross-sectional research design. Respondents are parents or families who have children under five and preschool in the BKB group and taken by purposive sampling of as many as 2,803 and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. The result variable number of ideal children <0.05 means there is a relationship with the physical growth of toddlers, while the variables of the use of contraceptives and mother's education> 0.05 means there is no relationship with the physical growth of toddlers. The use of contraceptives can indirectly affect the physical growth of toddlers because the use of contraceptives will minimize unwanted births and focus more on the growth and development of children who have been born.

Abstract

Success in providing nursing is directly proportional to the success of the nursing management process, because to create high-quality services, professional services are needed which are technically to improve each system of providing nursing care, for that the provision of nursing through the Professional Nursing Practice Model (MPKP) is considered very important. The results of the survey conducted by researchers obtained information related to the professionalism of nurses by 5 informants, that the nursing services they felt were still unsatisfactory. The purpose of this study was to determine the Professional Nursing Practice Model (MPKP) before and after being given treatment. This research is a type of quantitative research with a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design. The population in this study were all nurses who were permanent employees at hospitals in Kotamobagu City with a total of 257 people. The total sample of this study was 154 people who were determined based on the Slovin formula. The sampling technique used is the probability sampling method by accidental proportion based on the hospital cluster. The results of this study indicate that the frequency distribution of Pillar I of the management approach at Kotamobagu City Hospital has increased after being given the application of MPKP to each element and the frequency distribution of Pillar IV of the nursing care delivery system at Kotamobagu City Hospital has increased in each element after being given professional training.

Abstract

Type 2 DM is a metabolic disorder disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar due to insulin resistance and can cause Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) which can be cured by wound cleansing. The study used a Pre-Post control group design with a measurement time of 16 days involving 40 patients who were divided into 2 groups and selected randomly. The method of analysis used the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney. The instrument uses standard operating procedures for wound cleansers made from the decoction of Arabic bidara leaves and the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool (BWAT). Data analyzed using Mann-Whitney  (p= 0.586) showed that there was no difference in the mean after wound cleansing in the intervention group and after wound cleansing in the control group, but there was a difference in the decrease in indicators.  The intervention group reduced 8 BWAT indicators consisting of wound edges, Necrotic Tissue Type, Necrotic Tissue Amount, exudate type, Exudate Amount, Skin Color Surrounding the Wound, Peripheral Tissue Edema & Induration. while the control group decreased 6 BWAT indicators consisting of Necrotic Tissue Type, Necrotic Tissue Amount, Exudate Amount, Skin Color Surrounding the Wound, Peripheral Tissue Edema & Induration. Arabic bidara leaves contain flavonoids as anti-inflammatory and antioxidants as well as alkaloids, tannins, and Christine as antibacterial. This research can be used as an evidence-based practice for DFU wound care.
