ABSTRACT This article reveals the contribution of skills reading comprehension text exposition to writing skills text description grade students VIII SMP Negeri Padang Panjang 2.. This research type is quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this research is the design contribution. This research population is grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Padang Panjang are registered on the 12th school year 2018/2019, i.e. as many as 156 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, i.e. 40 students. Research data is a score test results intermediate reading comprehension text exposition and score the writing skills test result text exposition. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text exposition and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text exposition. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension text exposition grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang PanjangÂ 2 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 79.39. Second, the skills of writing text exposition grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang PanjangÂ 2 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 80.23. Third, there is a contribution of reading skills in the description of text to the skills of writing exposition texts of class grade VIII SMP Negeri PadangÂ Panjang 2 at 76,39%.Â Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks Eksposisi

ABSTRACTÂ There are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of reading comprehention ofÂ VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Second, describe the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students atÂ SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehentionÂ with the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The Â type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 PadangÂ which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 36 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention and scores on the results of the test writing skills of the report observation text. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure report observation text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write report observation texts of Â VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 PadangÂ is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 82,99. Second, the skill of reading comprehentionÂ of VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 PadangÂ in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,42. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and report observation text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (13,59Â > 2,68). Â Kata Kunci:Â Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi.

ABSTRACTÂ This research was conducted to describe sentence structure and diction (word selection) exposition text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. The data of this study are qualitative data in the form of text exposition of students. Data are analyzed by steps, namely (1) the researcher identifies the sentence structure contained in the students' exposition text, (2) the researcher identifies the diction contained in the student's exposition text, (3) the results of the analysis by the triangulation informant, (4) make conclusions. Based on the results of the study, two things are summarized as follows. First, in writing about the exposition text of the eighth grade students of Padang 12 Middle School using six basic sentence patterns. The sixth basic pattern of the exposition text sentence structure is SP, SPO, SPPel, SPK, SPOK, and SPOPel. This is evident from the 40 exposition texts that have been analyzed, the basic pattern of the sentence most used by students is SPOPel, while the basic pattern of the least used sentence is SP. Second, when viewed from the use of diction with the accuracy of the use of diction 90% and the use of 10% diction which is inaccurate in the exposition text by class VIII students of Padang Middle School 12.Â Kata Kunci: Stuktur Kalimat, Diksi, dan Teks EksposisiÂ Â

This research population is grade VII SMP 8 Negeri Padang are registered on the 12th school year 2018/2019, i.e. as many as 255 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, i.e. 40 students. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text description and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text description. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension text description grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 8 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 79.17. Second, the skills of writing text descriptions grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 8 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 81.25. Third, there is a significant correlation between reading skills of calss VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang in the freedom degree and 95% significant level. H0 is rejected an H1 is accepted because the test results prove that the count is greater than ttable, namely 7,56>2,68.Â Kata kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this study is threefold, namely (1) the effectiveness of the sentence in the exposition essay of VIIIÂ grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya in terms of sentence structure, (2) choice of words, and (3) spelling use. The type of research used is qualitative research using descriptive methods. Data ofÂ researchÂ is the results of identification of sentence ineffectiveness used in essays of exposition and sourced from the object of research. The technique of validating the data used is the thick descriptionÂ technique. Data were analyzed using simple statistical descriptive techniques and qualitative analysis using formats.Â Of 264Â sentences used as research data, there were 47Â effective sentences and 199Â sentences were not effective. This means that there is still a lack of understanding of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya about effective sentences in exposition essays. The ineffectiveness of these 46 sentences is because they do not meet one or more of the indicators used in this study. Second, 42 sentences are not effective in terms of sentence structure. this is because one element is incomplete. Third, 125 sentences are not effective in terms of the use of word choices. This is due to inappropriate choice of words. Fourth, 97Â sentences are not effective in terms of spelling usage. 48Â sentences on the inaccuracy of the use of capital letters, 5Â sentences on the inaccuracy of the use of dots, and 44Â sentences on the inaccuracy of using commas.Â Kata kunci: Keefektifan, Kalimat, Teks Eksposisi

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this research is to description of the following. First, describe the mastery level of instrinsik element of grade IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang. Second, describing the skill level of writing short story students in class IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang. Thirdly, it describes the contribution of Instrinsik element mastery to the short story writing skills of class IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang. This type of research is quantitative using a descriptive method with a correlation approach. The population amounted to 285 people and was spread in nine classrooms. This research sample amounted to 57 people. The research Data is a result of the objective test of multiple-choice for an Instrinsik element mastery test consisting of 42 grains. Student short story writing skills Data is obtained by conducting a performance test. The collected Data is analyzed according to the indicators to get student scores and grades. Based on the results of the study, three sympultants were obtained. First, the skills of short story writing students IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang Panjang in general are on the qualification more than enough with an average value of 72.15.Â Secondly, the mastery of instrinsik element of grade XI SMP Negeri 20 Padang is being qualified more than enough with the average value of 69.76 count. Thirdly, the mastery of language style contributes to the short story writing skills of class IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang by 32.49%, while the rest is influenced by other factors that are not researched in this study.Â Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, Unsur Instrinsik, Menulis Cerita Pendek

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was categorized into three. First, to describe the text writing skills of the experimental class persuasion students. Second, to describe the text writing skills of the control class students' persuasion. Third, to describe the influence of the cooperative learning which was Think Talk Write (TTW) model assisted by audiovisual media in writing skill related to the persuasive text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. The type of study was quantitative with quasi-experimental research. The design of this study was static by two groups. The population in this study was VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang who were enrolled in 2018/2019 academic year about 252 students. The sample in this study was 64 students that consist of two classes, namely class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII D as the control class that was taken by using purposive random sampling technique. There were several results of this study. They were: First, persuasive text writing skill of the experimental class students was in the category Very Good (BS) with an average score of 85.94. Second, persuasive text writing skill of control class students was in the category Good (B) with an average score of 76.82. Third, the working hypothesis (H_1) was received at the level of Î± = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = (n1 + n2) -2 because of tcount>ttable, which is 4.23> 1.70. In other words, the use of model cooperative learning type Think Talk Write assisted by audiovisual media has a significant effect on the persuasive writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. Therefore, the cooperative learning type Think Talk Write (TTW) model could be used as an alternative in learning persuasive text writing skill at the junior secondary level. ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this research, namely. First, describe the form of the Indonesian language teacher directive speech act in PBM in class X AKL 3 of SMK Negeri 3 Padang. Second, describe the teacher's speaking strategy. Third, describing the context for using spoken strategies. Fourth, describe student responses. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data in this research are teacher directive speech acts and student responses. Data was collected by recording techniques, and recorded. Data analysis techniques, namely first, transcribe the recorded data into written language. Second, inventory and identify speech acts. Third, classify data based on the type of speech. Fourth, analyzing the data based on the form of speech acts, speaking strategies, the context of speaking situations, and student responses. Fifth, conclude data based on data collection.The results of this research are four. First, the form of the Indonesian teacher's directive speech act. ABSTRACTÂ TheÂ purposeÂ of this study is to describeÂ (1) theÂ characteristics of theÂ short story text structureÂ of class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 11 Padang and (2) theÂ characteristic of theÂ short story text elements by class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 11 Padang. Theories related to this research there areÂ four theories, namely (a) understanding of short story text, (b) short story text structure, (c) elements in short story text, and (d) short story text style. TheÂ typeÂ of research used is qualitativeÂ research using descriptiveÂ methods. TheÂ data of this study areÂ theÂ results of theÂ writing of theÂ students of class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 11 Padang in theÂ form of short stories totaling 33 short stories. TheÂ techniqueÂ for validating theÂ data used is a thick description. Data wereÂ analyzed using simpleÂ statistical descriptiveÂ techniques and qualitativeÂ analysis using formats. Based on theÂ results of theÂ study can beÂ concluded,first, short story text by students of class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 11 Padang areÂ moreÂ dominantly built on fiveÂ structures, namely abstract, orientation, complications, evaluation, and resolution. It can beÂ interpreted that theÂ short story text by students of class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 11 Padang is not complex text structures. Second, short story text by students of class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 11 Padang dominantly using advanced plot. Third, short story text by students of class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 11 Padang then to useÂ threeÂ types of languageÂ styles, namely hyperbolic style, personification, and simile.Â Kata kunci : Karakteristik, teks cerpen

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this study is three. First, describing reading skills understanding the procedural text of class VII students at SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Second, describing the procedure for writing the text skills of Grade VII students in Padang Middle School 25 Third, describing the correlation of reading skills in the text comprehension procedure and the procedure for writing text skills for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang.Â This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used is correlational design. The study population was grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, which was 241 students. The study sample was determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 45 students. The research data is in the form of a reading skill test score understanding of the procedure text and the score of the procedure for writing the text procedure. There are two instruments for this research, namely objective tests to measure reading skills, comprehension of text procedures and performance tests to measure the procedure for writing text skills. text comprehension procedures, and procedure writing skills in class VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. at the real level (Î±) of 95% with n-1 freedom degrees in other words if the reading skills of students 'procedural text comprehension are good, then students' writing skills are also good.
