Abstract

This study aimed to describe and analyze the form and use of sound in the Poetry Collection Book Tidak Ada New York Hari Ini by M. Aan Mansyur. To achieve these objectives the theory is used: (1) the nature of poetry, (2) theory of structuralism, (3) elements of poetry building, (4) sound elements in poetry, (5) alliteration and aconance, (6) cacophony and efoni, (7) anaphora and epiphora, and (8) the function of sound in poetry. Based on the analysis in the poetry collection, There is Tidak Ada New York Hari Ini, the work of M. Aan Mansyur, found 14 sounds of alliteration, 24 sounds of aconance, 17 sounds of cacophony, 23 sounds of ephony, 10 sounds of anaphora and 2 sounds of epiphora. There are 4 functions of the use of sound elements, namely: (1) expressive energy, (2) giving suggestions to the reader, (3) means of musicality, and (4) providing an atmosphere / special impression.Keyword: form, exploiting of sound, anthology poems, Tidak Ada New York Hari Ini, M. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the values of Minangkabau culture in a collection of short stories 'Carito Etek Siar-Indak Tau Diatah Takunyah' Amir Adriyeti work. Study of the theory in this study, namely: (1) the nature of literature, (2) the nature and elements of the short story, (3) literary analysis approach, (4) the nature and cultural values. This research is qualitative research with descriptive method. The data in this study are the values of Minangkabau culture in a collection of short stories 'Carito Etek Siar- Indak tau Diatah Takunyah' Amir Adriyeti work. Data source is a collection of short stories 'Carito Etek Siar-Indak Tau Diatah Takunyah' Amir Adriyeti work. The sections relating to research data were analyzed by means of reading, understand, appreciate, identify, and noting how cultural values contained in a collection of short stories. Data was collected by means of read carefully the short story collection 'Carito Etek Siar-Indak Tau Diatah Takunyah' Amir Adriyeti work, in order to get an overall understanding of the content of the story, marking the structure section contains the description of the values of Minangkabau culture in it , identifying cultural values contained in a collection of short stories 'Carito Etek Siar- Indak Tau Diatah Takunyah' Amir Adriyeti work. Data analysis techniques, an inventory of data, translating data into Indonesian, classifies data based on the problems presented in this study, the data that have been classified and analyzed based on the theory that has been described, after the data were analyzed, do inference. After analysis, it was found Minangkabau cultural values contained in a collection of short stories 'Carito Etek Siar-Indak Tau Diatah Takunyah' Amir Adriyeti work. Minangkabau cultural values consists of values of 6 pieces of religious systems, the values of kinship in Minangkabau society 4 pieces, and the values of livelihood system 5 pieces.

Abstract

This research is to describe: (a) the materialism of “Nyonya” in the script of play Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi and (b) the impact of the materialism of “Nyonya” in the script of Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi. This research is a qualitative research applying qualitative descriptive method. This research Data is a form of materialism and the impact of materialism of “Nyonya” in the script of play Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi. The sources in this research are five scripts of drama: the winner of Competition Drama Script “Dewan Kesenian Jakarta”, 2003. The technic of gathering data is by reading the script of Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi, then inventaring the data. Validating data is by performing detail description technic, data analysis technic, inventarizing data, interpretting data, and concluding and then writing the report. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded the following points. First, the materialism of “Nyonya” contained in the script of play Nyonya-Nyonya is “Nyonya” is oriented towards money and inheritance. Second, the impact of the materialism of “Nyonya” in the script of drama Nyonya-Nyonya by Wisran Hadi is the impact to herself and also the impact to her family. Third, Wisran Hadi has shown a today’s moral crisis through the script of Nyonya-Nyonya.

Abstract

This thesis aims to describe the form of social criticism of war in song lyric of Iwan Fals and Bob Dylan and the comparation of them. This thesis belongs to qualitative research. Subject of this research is song lyric of Iwan Fals from www.iwanfals.co.id and song lyric of Bob Dylan from www.bobdylan.com. The research focused to songlyricthat contains social criticism of war theme and applied to comparative literature theory. The method to analyze this data is descriptive analysis. Validity of data obtained by triangulation technique. Based on the results of the study concluded the following points. First, social criticism of war in song lyric of Iwan Fals described by persuade form. Second, social criticism of war in song lyric of Bob Dylan described by curse form. Third, sosial criticism of war in song lyric of Iwan Fals and Bob Dylan described by different form because different orientation: Iwan Fals tendents to push foward persuade form because war is only an useless, meanwhile Bob Dylan tendents to push foward curse form because war is very cruel.Keywords: song lyric, social criticism, comparative literature

Abstract

The purpuse  of research is structure description and social function faith community built new house in Sungai Asam Sicincin Kecamatan 2x11 Enam Lingkung Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. The research is kualitatif research of deskriptif method. Accommodate data and do with observation, interview, take direct words from informan and record again the result. Based of research conclusion that idiom faith communication on convey their love and feel on figuratife language. Sosial function of faith find on this research are four parts and idiom structure are two part of structure and three part of structure.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the image of the Muslim woman character in the novel Surga yang Tak Dirindukan, Assalamualaikum Beijing, and Jilbab in Love written by Asma Nadia. This was a qualitative research with descriptive method based on content analysis. Object of this study was novel  Surga yang Tak Dirindukan, Assalamualaikum Beijing, and Jilbab in Love written by Asma Nadia. Data analysis was done by (1) classifying the data associated with the image of the Muslim woman, (2) interpreting the data associated with the image of Muslim women, (3) analyzing and inventorying data associated with the image of Muslim women, (4) concluding the data. The findings of this research indicate that the image of the Muslim women in the novel  Surga yang Tak Dirindukan, Assalamualaikum Beijing, and Jilbab in Love written by Asma Nadia is women who are honest and keep his verbal, patient and sincere women, women who are fasting and keep her prayer, women who maintain honor and views, the women who remember Allah/God remembrance, and qanitaat.Keywords: image of woman, moeslimah, Asma Nadia, novel

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe novel structural gender exitences that are  reflected on women characters involving. Gender eksistences as domestic sector and gender existences as public sector on novel Jurang Keadilan composed by Pipiet Senja this research discusied aboud the nature of novel, novel structural, fiction analisys approach, the nature of feminism, and the nature of gender existence. This is a qualitative research by using descriptif method to analyze novel structurals in general and mimesys approach to analyze the gender existence an a novel. First edition of the object of this research is Jurang Keadilan written by Pipiet Senja printing 1 dzuhijjah 1431 H/Desember 2010. Collection data were conducted by there steps. (1) reading and understanding the novel, (2) marking the parts that indicate the gender existence, (3) identifying characters to find the similaritles with the research problem, (4) classifying sentences and paragraph that could visualize pictures of women in Jurang Keadilan novel. After the data collected, those data will be analyzed by these following steps: (1) describing the novel structural, (2) classifying the gender existence data, (3) interpreting the gender exixtence on women characters, (4) resulting data that has been analyzed and interpreted and (5) reporting the research result.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) folklore structure of local legend Tujuah in Kanagarian Sikucua Timur sub-district V Koto Kampuang Dalam Padang Pariaman district, (2) social function folklore local legend Tujuah in Kanagarian Sikucua Timur sub-district V district Koto Kampuang sub-district Padang Pariaman. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data of this research are folklore of local legends of Tujuah in Kanagarian Sikucua Timur, Subdistrict V, Koto Kampuang Dalam, Padang Pariaman District. The data in this study were analyzed in four stages, namely: (1) the data identification stage, the data collected from the informants were identified through two stages, namely: (a) the stage of transcription, transliteration, and (b) the stage of describing the results of observation, recording, and interview, (2) Data classification or analysis stage, (3) Discussion phase and conclusion of the results of classification or data analysis, (4) Reporting phase. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the folklore structure of local legend Tujuah in Kanagarian Sikucua Timur, V Subdistrict, Koto Kampuang Dalam, Padang Pariaman Regency consists of, namely: (1) language style, language style speech used by folklore in local legend Folklore Pariaman dialect, (2) point of view, (3) character and character, figures found in local folklore local legend Pujuran Tujuah is divided into two, Sutan Bagindo as the main character, and Putri Bungsu, Mandeh Rubiah, Rajo Simanta as a side character, ( 4) background, background of folklore local legend Pujuran Tujuah is a setting, time setting and social setting, (5) plot / plot, plot / plot in folklore local legend Pincuran Tujuah is a conventional plot, and has three stages: , the initial stage or introduction (beginning), middle stage or conflict (midle), and the final stage or end (end), (6) themes, and (7) mandate. The social function of folklore local legend of the Tujuah Swamp in Kanagarian Sikucua Timur, V Koto Kampuang Dalam District, Padang Pariaman Regency, namely: (1) educating, and (2) entertaining.Keywords: folklore, legend, minangkabau

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the violence in character of the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban by Abidah El Khalieqy. This data is a quote that contain of violence on figures in this novelPerempuan Berkalung Sorban by Abidah El Khalieqy . The method is used to collect the data is read and written. The data is collected with the following steps: (1) read the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban by Abidah El Khalieqy, (2) analyzing the violence contained in the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorbanby Abidah El Khalieqy, (3) especially to study literature references related to the research problem, (4) writing related data of the violence, (5) make the conclusion. Based on the research findings and discussion it can be concluded that a character in the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorbanby Abidah El Khalieqy, is classified on the main character and additional character. The main character in thisnovel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban by Abidah El Khalieqy is Annisa. The additional character are Samsudin, Kalsum, Khudhori, Kiai Hanan Abdul Malik, Hajjah Mutmainah, Rizal, Wildan, Nina, Maryam, and Fauziah.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is (1) to describe literary style in product advertisement of PT. Unilever Indonesia, (2) to describe the context of literary style in product advertisement of PT. Unilever Indonesia. This research data is 52 advertisements that are gotten by downloud with youtube site. The data collection is transcripted, after that identifying the data and also the context of literary style in product advertisement of PT. Unilever Indonesia, then it is classified base on the same literary style and context. The research findings are first, there are 7 comparison literary styles in product advertisement of PT. Unilever Indonesia that is devided into literary style of simile, metaphora, personification, metonnimi, sinecdoc pars pro toto, hiperbola, and paradocs. Second, there are 8 (eight) comparison literary styles in product advertisement of PT. Unilever Indonesia that are climax, non-climax, repetition, paralism, alliteration, ellipsis, ironi literary style, and retoris question. The context of literay style usage in Product advertisement of PT. Unilever Indonesia is to explain special quality of product to convice and persuade the audience and society when they see the product advertisement of PT. Unilever Indonesia to use the product.
