Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) describe the form of abuse; (2) describe the causes of abuse; and (3) describe the impact of abuse in Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novel by Agnes Davonar. Theories used to achieve the objectives of the research, namely: (1) the nature of the novel; (2) novel elements; (3) fiction analysis approach; (4) literature sociology studies; (5) abuse; (6) causes of abuse; and (7) the impact of abuse. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data in this study are sentences and direct speeches of the characters and narratives of the author that can be interpreted or interpreted as abuse. The source of the data in this study was Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novel by Agnes Davonar. The research data collection technique was carried out with the following steps: (1) reading Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novelby Agnes Davonar; (2) marking quotes in novels that correspond to the data sought; and (3) record data on abuse, causes of abuse, and the impact of abuse in Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novelby Agnes Davonar. After the data is collected, the data are analyzed with the following steps: (1) identifying data; (2) clarifying or analyzing data; and (3) make conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the indicators of abuse phenomenon contained in the novel Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novel the work of Agnes Davonar include: (1) forms of abuse divided into three; verbal abuse, nonverbal abuse, and physical abuse; (2) the causes of abuse are divided into two; individual factors and social factors, and (3) the impact of abuse is divided into two; the impact on victims and the impact on the perpetratorsKeywords: Bullying, Novel, Social

Abstract

The purpose of this article is (a) to describe the types of images contained in a collection of poems Tebaran Mega created by Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana, (b) to describe the functions contained in a collection of poems Tebaran Mega by Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana. The data of this study is a collection of images in poems Tebaran Mega by Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana. The technique of analyzing data using detailed description techniques . The research findings in this study is the first, of the 6 types of images were examined, found 5 images in a collection of poems Tebaran Mega which is as follows: visual imagery found in 28 poems, auditory imagery found in 21 poems, olfactory imagery found in one poems, imagery feelings found as many as 11 poems, images grope found as many as 11 poems, and motion imagery found in 24 poems. Second, there are three functions in the collection of poems Tebaran Mega by Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana which is as follows: the function of imagination as much as 10 poems, aesthetic function was found in 7 poems, and suggestive function found in 4 poems.

Abstract

 This study aims to describe: (1) the structure of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency, and (2) the social function of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency. The source of this research data is story about local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency. There are two stages to collect the data. First, doing interview with informant and record it. Then, transcribe the recordings. Second, collecting data about informant environment. Based on result of the study concluded: (1) The folklore of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave told by informant with understoodable language, have ten character, the story’s background is in Nagari Salayo, and theme of the story is about Datuak Parpatiah’s body contested, and (2) social function of the local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave are for entertain, education, cultural preservation, and group identity. Keywords: folklore, structure, social function, local legend

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe (1) forms of expression of insult, (2) the function of expression, (3) the context of the use of expression of verbal abuse in the village of Koto Laweh Subdistrict Tanjuang Baru Tanah Datar District. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The subject of this study is a sentence or speech that contains the expression of insults used by the community in the Village Koto Laweh Tanjuang Baru District Tanah Datar. The data taken are analyzed by the following steps: (1) transcribing existing data from various sources into written language, ie from recorded data, interviews, and observations, (2) classifying forms of insults by function and context, (3) ) analyzing the data according to the research objectives, (4) formulating the research findings. There are three findings in this study. First, based on the form, the expression of insults in the verbal violence used by the community in Koto Laweh Village Tanjuang Baru Sub District can be classified into two types (a) expressions of word-shaped, (b) phrase-shaped expressions. Secondly, based on the phrase function of acquired speech in the village of Koto Laweh, there are 7 functions of expression, (1) as a means of expressing resentment, (2) expressing strong and extreme emotions, (3) as joke, means of expressing social intimacy, (5) insulting, (6) expressing frustration and irritation, (7) means of expression of amazement. Third, on the basis of forms of expression it is used in all contexts with reference to four speech situations, ie (a) higher speakers of the position and the relationship is familiar, (b) the speaker is higher in rank and the relationship is not familiar, (c) the speaker is more low his position and the relationship is familiar, (d) the speaker is inferior to his position and the relationship is not familiar.Keywords: form, function, context, invective

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the Speech Acts illocutionary At the State Address of President Jokowi Date August 14, 2015.This study is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. The main data in this study are speech-speech on a speech by President Jokowi containing illocutionary speech acts on the President's speech Jokowi dated August 14, 2015. The source of this research data is video of President Jokowi first official speech on August 14, 2015, which is downloaded via youtube. The instrument of this study is the researchers themselves. Data collected by the state address how to download video youtube President Jokowi through, listening to the speech of President Jokowi, President Jokowi and transcribe speech into written language.Examination of the validity of the data was done by using trilingulasi. Data analysis was done by (1) transcribe the recording data in written language, (2) classified based on the type of follow illocutionary speech, speech acts function, and the strategy says, in a speech by President Jokowi dated August 14, 2015, (3) analyzing the data that have been classified, (4) make the conclusion of the research results Based on data from this study, it was found 94 research data, the type of representative illocutionary speech act, directive, expressive, commissive, declaration. Illocutionary speech acts function is the function that is found fun and work. Abstract

This study aims to: (a) present the physical description form of the Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja manuscript; (b) presents the form of the transcription of the text of Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja in the text of the Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja; (c) presents the form of the translation of the text of the Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja text in the Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja manuscript. This research includes philology research. This research resulted in (1) description of Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja manuscript; (2) the transfer of Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja's text which is transcribed from Arabic-Malay script to Latin script; (3) the transfer of the text of the Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja text which was translated from Malay into Indonesian.

Abstract

This article describes: (1) Layla-Majnun novel structure Sholeh Gisyamar work, (2) the main character in the novel psychological Layla-Majnun works Sholeh Gisyamar of aspects of id, ego, superego. This data was collected by way of reading the novel Layla-Majnun Gisymar Sholeh work, marking the language related to the research problem. The findings of the research, a novel structure-Majnun Layla Gisymar Sholeh work consisting of plot, setting, characterization, theme and the message, style, and point of view. While the discussion of the psychological aspects of the figure consists of the id, ego, and superego. Based on the results of this study concluded that, aspects of the main character's personality is more likely to attach great importance to the principle of the id ego gratification. Aspects of the ego is not balanced with the character superego aspect, then in the event of self-awareness on the figure, the ego back into play so that the resulting chaos and abnormal action. So the role of the superego in Layla-Majnun novel works Sholeh Gisymar only slightly.

Abstract

The object of this study was a collection of short stories Nadira written by Leila S. Chudori. This research aims to describe (1) women's struggle, and (2) ideas of feminism in a collection of short stories Nadira by Leila S. Chudori. Theoritical studies used in this research are: (1) the definition of short stories and (2) fictional structure, consists of (a) intrinsic element, and (b) extrinsic elements, (3) fictional analysis approach, and (4) the essence of feminism. The study used feminist literary criticism. Based on the story of this collection of short stories, another study used theory of socialist feminism. Feminism refers to a thought or ideology that want justice and gender equality. Because of these ideals, then feminism is regarded as an ideology of women's liberation. While socialist feminism states  the cause of oppression in women is capitalism and patriarchy. Feminism literary criticism means “reading as woman”. This feminism literary criticism analysis was conducted using feminism approach. This study will examine the women's struggles in the social, economic, educational, and political  contained in this collection of short stories.Keywords: women, feminism, feminist- socialist, feminism ideas

Abstract

Research aims to describe the main character in the novel Perahu Kertas novel written by Dewi Lestari. This research focused on emotional froms the main character in the novel Perahu Kertas. This research is descriptive qualitative research methods, technical contenyt analysis. The data of this research is the kinds of emotions the main character’s Perahu Kertas novel by Dewi Lestari which includes trace elements based characterzations. The data source of this research is Perahu Kertas novel written by Dewi Lestari published by Bentang Pustaka in 2012. Based on the findings and discussion can be summed up in the Perahu Kertas novel written Dewi Lestari, there are seven main characters of emotions consisting of positive emotions: the sense of comfort, contentment, joy, happines, and a sense of comfort which is compossed of the negative emotions anger and sadness.

Abstract

This research aimed to: (a) present a description of Tasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa script, (b) present the transliteration form from Arabic-Malay into Latin script of Tasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa text, (c) present the translation from Malay-Minang into Indonesian language of Tasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa script. This research is a philology research. The object of his research is the text of theTasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa. The method of this research is descriptive method and method of philology research which is adjusted with research stage. At the data collection stage, used field study method and literature study method and to library. The results of this research were (1) the complete description of the script, (2) the transcription ofTasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempatext  from Arabic-Malay into Latin without changing the kind of language that can be read and understood by the present society(3) Tasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa text had adapted into correct Indonesian Spelling (EBI). Some of Malay’s vocabularies and Minangkabau language’s vocabularies found inTasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempascript were maintained to preserve the purity of the old vocabulary.Keywords: philology, text, transliteration, translation
