Abstract

Dentists are vulnerable to Covid-19 transmission when carrying out health services so that new health service procedures are established. The dentist's readiness for change becomes important to assist the implementation of new health procedures optimally and continuously. Perceived organizational support can enhance dentist’s readiness for change. Aim of this study was to determine the correlation between perceived organizational support (POS) and the dentist's readiness for change (RFC) in providing health services during the Covid-19 pandemic era. Pearson's Correlation was used in this study. The instrument used was rearranged based on the theory of POS (Eisenberger, 1986) and RFC (Holt, et al., 2007). There were 107 dentists from Bandung (86.9%) and Cimahi (13.1%) participated. Results showed that POS was significantly correlated to the dentist's RFC. POS is also significantly correlated with three aspects of RFC. Support from organizations can increase dentist’s RFC in providing health services in pandemic situation.

Abstract

Adults seeking treatment for stuttering presented a comorbid diagnosis of social anxiety. The development of social anxiety may be related to negative conditioning experiences from an early age regarding people’s responses when reacting to stuttering such as confusion, interrupting, mocking, distancing, or ignoring stuttering speech. Repeated exposure to negative social reactions causes people who stutter to form beliefs that negative evaluations will occur in all social situations. The high level of social anxiety is more concerning given the data showing that increased anxiety can increase the frequency of stuttering. The purpose of group therapy with Cognitive Behavior Therapy is to reduce social anxiety and negative thoughts related to social anxiety in stuttering adults. The method used is a quantitative method supported by qualitative data from interviews. The results showed a decrease in social anxiety and negative thoughts in the group’s average score after undergoing therapy. In addition, there were changes in behavior, thoughts, and feelings after the session as evidenced from the follow-up interview a month after the end of therapy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Brain Respiration on reducing stress in mothers working from home (WFH). Brain Respiration is a powerful technique to energize the brain because it can regulate emotions that can reduce stress. Fifteen people joined the experimental group and the rest control group. Mothers who were members of the experimental group got Brain Respiration while the control group did not. A biofeedback device measured the degree of stress through electrodermal activity (EDA). The results obtained show that there are differences in the degree of stress in the form of a decrease in the degree of stress in WFH mothers who are included in the experimental group after being given Brain Respiration (T-count = 12, and T-table = 25. If T-count < T-table then H0 rejected). There are also differences in the degree of stress in WFH mothers included in the experimental group and the control group (the results of U-count = 31.5 and U-table = 72). The conclusion can be drawn is that Brain Respiration can reduce stress in WFH mothers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the social presence that arises from turning on or turning off the camera on video conference on group problem solving ability. This study uses an experimental method with the instruments used are the Social Presence Scale and the Tower of Hanoi puzzle by measuring reaction time, latency, and the number of movements of the respondent group (N=79). The results indicated that there are no significant differences in social presence, reaction time, latency, and the number of movements between the group that turned on the camera and the group that turned off the camera (p>0.1). This result could be caused by differences in the tendency to actively argue, individual domination, and differences in knowledge about the problem. The implication of this study will be discussed later in this article.
