Abstract

This research aimed to know the public perception on the socio-economic conditions post- establishment of oil palm plantation company (case study PT. Telen Prima Sawit). The research was done in Subregency of Muara Bengkal, Regency of East Kutai. This research was done from August until October 2016.  The number of samples was 44 respondents. Public perception on  the socio-economic conditions post-establishment of LCP oil palm plantations was known by doing analysis of data by descriptive.  The result of research shows that public perception on the socio-economic conditions post-establishment of oil palm plantation company PT Telen Prima Sawit in Subregency Muara Bengkal, Regency East Kutai  including in category positive  with an average score 52.70%.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to know marketing channel, marketing margin, share, and marketing profit of fresh fruit bunches of oil palm in Tempakan Village, Batu Engau Subregency, Paser Regency. The study was conducted from June to August 2016. The sampling method was done with two ways as random sampling in farmer level and in marketing channel as snowball sampling. Data analysis were done by calculating marketing margin, share, and marketing profit. The results of this study showed that there are two marketing channels in reserach location are channel of level zero and channel of level one. Marketing margin in farmer level was Rp40.39 kg-1 and margin in whole trader level was Rp314.44 kg-1. The average share of farmer level was 97.58% and in trader level was 81.48%. Margin and share that profitable for farmer is at channel of level zero. The average of profit in whole trader level of fresh fruit bunches was 112.75%, that meant marketing by whole trader is profitable.

Abstract

Dragon fruit is one of the commodities with the increasing prospective in the market. The increased of demand and consumption of dragon fruit needs ways to increase productivity in some centres of production. The purposes of this study were to analyze production, cost, revenue, income, R/C ratio, marketing channel, margin, and profit of marketing of dragon fruit. The study was conducted from September to December 2018 in Sanggulan Village, Sebulu Subregency, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The sampling method used census and snowball. Data collected were the primary  and secondary data. Data analysis was done to calculate cost, revenue, income, R/C ratio, and marketing margin. The average of production, cost, revenue, and income of dragon fruit was as many as 12,038.00 kg ha-1 year-1,  IDR63,266,389.00 ha-1 year-1, IDR120,583,333.00 ha-1 year-1, and IDR57,316,944.00 ha-1 year-1, respectively. R/C ratio is 1.91 that meant dragon fruit farming is feasible to farm. Marketing channel is  two levels from farmer to trader to retailer to consumer. Marketing margin owned by trader and retailer was IDR2,000.00 kg-1 and  IDR3,000.00  kg-1, respectively. Marketing profit which received by trader and retailer was as much as IDR1,979.00 kg-1  and IDR2,985.00 kg-1, respectively.

Abstract

         The purpose of this study was to know the food security level of paddy farmers household in Tani Aman Urban Village, Loa Janan Ilir Subdistrict. The sampling method was proportional random sampling with a total samples of 40 respondents. The food security level of paddy farmers household was known by using descriptive analysis. The results of this study show the increasing production in the medium category with  total score of 204 and the average of 5.1, food reserve in medium category with  total score of 257 with average of 6.42, food aid in the low category with  total score of 244 with an average of 6.1.The food distribution  includes economic access  in the high category with a total score of 309 with an average of 7.72,  physical access in the high category with  total score of 476 with an average of 11.9, social access is in the moderate category score with total score of 312 with an average of 7.8. The indicator of food absorption  includes food security  in the high category with  total score of 592 with an average of 14.8, and  food diversification  in the low category with  total total of 183 with an average of 4.57.

Abstract

Income level influences on economic prosperity of farmer. The purpose of this research was to know prosperity level of farmer income based on income of papaya california farming in Muang Dalam, Lempake Urban Village, North Samarinda Subcity. The research was done from June to December 2017. The sampling method were census method. Data collection was done through survey or observation and interviews. Data was analyzed to know total cost,  revenue, and income. Income was divided by the number of family members to know income per year, then it was compared with City Minimum Salary (CMS) as a prosperity index. The results of research show that farmer income from california papaya farming as much as IDR8,647,495.92 month-1 respondent-1 for an average planting area of 0.92 ha. CMS in Samarinda City the year 2017  as much as IDR2,442,180.62 month-1. The average of farmer income from papaya california farming IDR2,189,034.33 capita-1 month-1. If it was compared with the data of Statistics of East Kalimantan the year 2016 as much as IDR510,041.00 month-1 for rural area, the prosperity level of california papaya farmer is at a level of wealth or above the poverty line.

Abstract

The risk will be faced by retailers in marketing of local carrots with chantenay and imperator varieties. The purposes of this study were to know the economic risk (revenue and income) that is influenced by the risk of total inventory and selling price that  will be faced by carrot retailers in Segiri Market, Samarinda City. This research was conducted for 5 months from April to August 2018. Sampling method in this study was purposive sampling. The data collected in this study were primary and secondary data. The data analytical used the E-V (Hope- Variance) risk analysis. The results showed that the risk of inventory is as many as 21.7% for the chantenay variety and as many as 17.4% for the imperator variety. The risk of  selling price was  Rp13,576.00  for the chantenay variety  and Rp11,771.00 for the imperator variety. The retailers in Segiri Market, Samarinda City have economic risk in terms of revenue and income in the amount of 49.8% and 64.2% for chantenay carrots variety while for imperator variety of 40.4% and 55.3%.

Abstract

Palm oil plantation has developed rapidly in East Kutai Regency. This study aimed to know farming diversity before and after the establishment of palm oil company in Makmur Jaya Village, Kongbeng Subregency, East Kutai Regency and the impact of palm oil company establishment. The method used in this study was purposive sampling  with total samples of 30 respondents. Method of data analysis was t test. The result of study showed that the diversity of farming before the establishment of palm oil company in Makmur Jaya Village such as farming of paddy, hybrid coconut, corn, and cacao. The diversity of farming after the establishment of palm oil company in Makmur Jaya Village are farming of palm oil, paddy, and pepper. Palm oil company has given the very significant impact to the development of farming in Makmur Jaya Village from the result of t test as many as 5.18.
