Abstract

ABSTRACT Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management philosophy of most organizations to improve the effectiveness and performance to become a world-class organization. The purpose of this study, using multiple regression analysis, was to test the effect of TQM practices of teamwork, autonomy, and process control on internal knowledge transfer. The results of this study with sample size is 85 faculty and high school leaders in Yogyakarta show that teamwork, autonomy, and process control has a positive effect on internal knowledge transfer. Abstract

ABSTARCT As an ethnic group Minangkabau people was influenced by many conditions developed around them, like scio-cultural, value system they had, beliefs and religious, and status and roles they played. Based on those conditions, Minangkabau people has been well-known with their unique community structure and leadership pattern in the past. This condition had been running in harmony until the coming of Japanese colonialism in 1943. This pattern of leadership had been changed and tended to be disfunctional. In their colonialism era, Japanese tried to use the Tungku Tigo Sajarangan (the pattern of Minangkabau traditional leadership) as a tool for maintaining their power over Minangkabau colony. Abstract

ABSTRACT For a multinational company foreign exchange is one of key variable in their day to day activity. The ability in managing their forex portfolio could help them to achieve a good performance. This research was applying The Box – Jenkins Method in order to forecast USD to IDR fluctuation. Using this method we find that it is suitable to apply this method for forecasting USD vis a vis IDR fluctuation.  We find the USD-IDR fluctuation statistically significant following an ARMA (2,1) process but for forecasting purposes it is better to use ARMA (4,1) process since this process have better explanatory power. We recommend using higher data frequency such as daily or weekly data for a better forecasting result and for the applicability of this model to the real world. Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of this study are 1) to describe the level of motivation Retailers/Peddlers in West Sumatera in running their bussiness as a Retailer/Peddler and 2) to identify the impact of Loan for Retailer program toward the retailers’ motivation in running their bussiness as a Retailer/Peddler. This study was conducted in three regions of cities in the area of West Sumatera province, namely Padangpanjang, Bukittinggi, and Payakumbuh. A qualitative method through field study was used in this study. Data were collected though structured and depth-interview, observation, questionnaire, and study of documentation. There are 434 Retailers/Peddlers covered in this study. Quantitative data from questionnaire were analyzed with frequency and percentage while qualitative data from informants and observation were analyzed through the model of interactive analysis. The finding of this study indicated that the loan for retailer program did not have so significant impact for increasing motivation of the retailers/peddlers in running their bussiness.   Kata Kunci: Program Bantuan PKL, Pedagang Kaki Lima (PKL), Program Registrasi PKL, Motivasi

Abstract

ABSTRACT On the slope of Local Government Election of Padang in 2008 there were five pairs of mayor and deputy mayor candidates, among other candidates was Fauzi Bahar and Mahyeldi (Coalition PAN and PKS) that gets the most votes in the election of regional head and deputy regional head of Padang. Efforts were made ​​could not be separated from political parties or candidates foresight in carrying the work program as well as segmentation of the electorate. The study examines the political segmentation of the voters for election winner slope of Padang Local Government on the aspects of policy-oriented problem-solving and ideological orientation. The finding of this study indicated that policy-oriented problem-solving that involved mass media in electoral politics segmentation of Fauzi Bahar-Mahyeldi voters is not too significant. Furthermore, economic performance and political responsibilities were more emphasized on the process of imaging and "selling" the performance of the incumbent. Ideological orientation of political segmentation of voters for the election winner is very important for the election because it has cadre of investigators with a high loyalty. Abstract

ABSTRACT Identification of the problem of UMKM is divided into two groups: internal problems which include issues of organizational structure, organizational strategy, and competition and external group problems that include broad market issues, problems of input and output factor conditions supporting institutional and industrial problems. This research concluded that the internal problems of UMKM in Bukittinggi is the lower level of owner education and the UMKM management is still indicated traditional, while the external problems are the limitation of market share and access to financial institutions that are still difficult.
