Abstract

Stroke is the highest cause of disability. Stroke patients with paralysis need to do the ROM exercise regularly. Families of stroke patients need an enough knowledge in ordet to do the ROM exercise at home. The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of passive ROM education on families’ knowledge, attitudes and skills in stroke patients at the Klaten Islamic Hospital. This research was a quantitative type with a research design using a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The population in this study were all stroke patients at Klaten Islamic Hospital with an average of 42 patients per month. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The samples were grouped, a total of 21 research respondents were included in the intervention group and there were 21 samples in the control group. The data research instrument used questionnaires and observation sheets to measure and observe the knowledge, attitudes and skills of the family in performing passive ROM on patients. Data analysis used Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney test. The results showed an increase in family knowledge, attitudes and skills about ROM both in the intervention group and the control group. The category of improvement towards the good category mostly occurred in the intervention group. In the intervention group, the results of the assessment showed that the majority of respondents with poor knowledge (71.4%) changed to be good (100%). The attitude of the respondents also increased, from the majority (72.6%) to be good (90.5%). And also on the skill variable, from the majority was less (81%) to be good (100%). The results of the different test showed that there was an effect of passive ROM education on knowledge, attitudes and skills with  p value of 0.000. The conclusion obtained shows that there is an effect of passive ROM education on the knowledge, attitudes and skills of stroke patients' families in both the control and intervention groups.

Abstract

Indonesia is a rich country in natural resources. Aloe vera (Aloe vera Linn) is a natural resource that has the potential to be developed. Aloe vera (Aloe vera Linn) has been shown to have a function as a skin moisturizer. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the aloe vera gel formulation has fulfilled the evaluation requirements in accordance with existing standards. This research was conducted by making aloe vera gel preparations in two formulas with carbopol variance, namely each with a concentration of 0,5% (F1), 1% (F2). Evaluation of gel preparations includes organoleptic, pH measurement, stability check at room temperature and cold temperature, spread-ability test, adhesion test, homogeneity test, and irritation test. The study was conducted for 2 months for stability, every week for pH measurement and at week 1 and week 8 on the dispersion and gel-ability, while the homogeneity and irritation tests were carried out after completing the formulation. The results showed that the evaluations that have fulfilled the requirements were organoleptic evaluation, stability at room temperature and cold temperature, homogeneity, and irritation. The evaluations that did not meet the requirements were the pH measurements at F1 and the spread-ability in both formulas.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical service is an effort that can be used to create social welfare. The community expects the best possible pharmacy services in the drug distribution process. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of patient satisfaction on the quality of pharmaceutical services at the outpatient installation of Anwar Medika Hospital. The study was observational with survey method. Primary data were collected on 147 respondents. Respondents conducted by using purposive sampling. Respondents were patients who got pharmaceutical care in outpatient installation of Anwar Medika hospital. The research instrument used a likert scale answer type questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the community satisfaction index and Cartesian diagram. The results of the analysis using the community satisfaction index based on five dimensions showed that the reliability dimension has an average of 73.75, responsiveness 73.00, assurance 70.75, empathy 70.75 and tangible 73.75. Overall, respondent rate pharmaceutical services in outpatient installation of Anwar Medika hospital was satisfactory. The results of the Cartesian diagram analysis showed that there were 2 questions that were in I quadrant, namely related to the speed of pharmacy services in serving prescriptions (responsiveness dimension) and the number of seats sitting in the waiting room was sufficient (tangible dimension). This research can be concluded that the patients are satisfied with the pharmaceutical services at the Outpatient Installation of Anwar Medika Hospital. The assessment elements on the speed of prescription services and the number of waiting chairs need to be evaluated and improved to improve the quality of service and meet satisfaction on the dimensions of responsiveness and tangibles.

Abstract

One of the conditions that cause respiratory failure is airway obstruction. Including obstruction of the Endotracheal Tube (ETT). Endotracheal Tube (ETT) that has been installed requires special attention in maintaining the cleanliness of the accumulation of secretions. Therefore, it is necessary to suction mucus (suction) which aims to maintain a patent airway due to accumulation of secretions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the suction position on changes in oxygen saturation in mechanically ventilated patients. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design with one group pre-post test design. The sample technique used by the researcher is a total sampling technique with a total sample of 20 respondents. The respondents of this study were patients in the ICU who received suction. The action taken is the provision of a semi-Fowler position and a supine position when suction is performed. The statistical test used is the dependent t test. The average SpO2 before suction in the semi-Fowler position was 97.10 and after that it was 90.50. The average SpO2 before suction in the supine position was 97.75 and after that it was 85.30. The results of the comparison test between before and after the intervention obtained a p value of 0.000 (p value 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of the semi-Fowler suction position and the supine/supine position on oxygen saturation in patients who are mechanically ventilated.

Abstract

Stroke is a neurological disease that can cause loss of motor function in sufferers. A stroke causes the patient's motor skills to experience weakness, or hemiparesis. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation in stroke cases. This research was a literature review. This article was obtained from two journal data bases, namely Sciencedirect and Google Scholar. The limitation of article search was published on January 2010-December 2020 with full text in Indonesian and English. The instrument used in this study was Crow Critical Apraissal Tolls (CCAT). There were 4,294 articles was conducted, then selected based on inclusion criteria and a critical appraisal and there were 6 articles matched with the criteria. These six articles used a pretest-posttest with control group design. From six articles were mentioned that Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) exercises affect toward muscle strength, improve coordination, improve functional abilities and reduce mobility disorders in stroke patients. The conclusion is Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation is effective as an effort to treat stroke patients.
