Abstract

One of the highest causes of maternal mortality in Indonesia is caused by bleeding which is indirectly caused by anemia in pregnant women. The need for iron in pregnant women will increase, but the administration of Fe tablets sometimes causes side effects of nausea and vomiting for pregnant women, resulting in non-compliance of pregnant women in consuming them. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of increasing the Hb of pregnant women in the first trimester by consuming sweet potato leaves. This research method uses pre-experimental with one group only pretest-posttest. Based on the result of the t-test analysis, the value tcount < ttable (-11.19 <-2.262) with a significant value (0.000) < 0.05, which means that there is a difference in blood hemoglobin levels of pregnant women in the first trimester before and after consuming purple sweet potato leaves. This can be interpreted than consuming purple sweet potato leaves can effectively increase blood hemoglobin levels of pregrant women in the first trimester. Judging from the average N-gain value is 1.056 > 0.7, it can be concluded that the comsumption of purple sweet potato leaves to increase blood hemoglobin category. Based on this analysis, sweet potato leaves can be consumed daily as a companion to Fe tablets for pregnant women.

Abstract

One of the reasons mothers do not breastfeed is a lack of confidence in her breastmilk production. Oxytocin hormone is an important trigger of prolactin secretion, which plays a role in the milk ejection process/milk ejection reflex. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to activate the oxytocin hormone is back massage or oxytocin massage for nursing mothers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of oxytocin massage on milk production in nursing mothers. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi experimental research design. The research was conducted in BPM Ernita, Pekanbaru city. The population in this study were all mothers giving birth in BPM Ernita last 3 months a total of 30 breastfeeding mothers. Sample size of this study was 15 respondents who were given oxytocin massage treatment and 15 respondents as the control group. Data analysis was performed by univariate and bivariate computerization using the Mann Whitney test. The results of this study there was an effectiveness of oxytocin massage. on milk production in breastfeeding mothers at BPM Ernita, Pekanbaru city (p = 0.000). It is hoped that health workers, especially midwives, can apply oxytocin massage and provide additional information about oxytocin massage to increase breast milk production for breastfeeding mothers and their families.

Abstract

Adolescent are nation's assets, young women who experience anemia are at risk of becoming pregnant women with anemia. The high prevalence of iron anemia in adolescent girls in Indonesia requires collaborative interventions. The intervention that has been launched by the government is giving blood tablets (TTD) once a week and once a day for women of childbearing age who are menstruating. The acupressure method is an alternative effort to increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with anemia. In addition to increasing hemoglobin levels, it is also useful in maintaining the immune system. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of acupressure on hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with anemia. This research is a true experimental design research using a pre post test control group design. Subjects were divided into 2 groups. In 2 months, Group A received acupressure once a day, Group B received TTD once a week. Before and after the intervention, hemoglobin levels were measured. The degree of anemia is divided into mild anemia (hB 8 g/dl – hB 9.9 g/dl), moderate anemia (hB 6 g/dl – Hb 7.9 g/dl) and severe anemia (hB < 6 g/dl). Almost all of the population had normal hemoglobin levels (86.1%) and only 5 people (13.8%) had mild anemia. After the data collected, it was known that p > 0.05. The results of the T test analysis obtained were p = 0.606, it was concluded that there was no significant difference in hemoglobin levels between each group.

Abstract

Based on 2017 WHO data, exclusive breastfeeding reached 43.5%, far from meeting the world target of 95%. In Indonesia, it only reached 61.3% of the 80% target. The main factor is due to the low production of breast milk at the beginning of breastfeeding and the lack of knowledge of the mother. Efforts to overcome the problem are to stimulate milk production by giving ginger extract which is rich in lactogogu, polyphenols, and flavonoids to stimulate the hypothalamus to maximize the production of the hormone prolactin compared to other herbs. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving ginger extract (Curcuma xanthorhizzaRoxb) on the volume of breast milk of postpartum mothers in the Airpura Health Center Work Area in 2020. This type of pre-experimental research with a one-group pretest and posttest research design. The population was all primiparous postpartum mothers on the 4th to 7th day as many as 35 people, the sample using purposive sampling technique was 14 people. The instrument is an observation sheet. The data were normally distributed using a paired sample t-test. The univariate analysis showed that volume of pretest breast milk was 21.07 cc ± SD 7.385, the post-test breast was 50.71 cc ± 11.906. The results of the analytic bivariate showed that ginger extract was given with p-value=0.001 (p<0.05). The conclusion is that temulawak extract affects increasing the volume of postpartum mother's milk. It is suggested that ginger extract helps the success of exclusive breastfeeding
