Abstract

Intensi pemberian ASI eksklusif diukur menggunakan kuesioner the Infant Feeding Intentions scale. Sedangkan sikap, norma subjektif dan persepsi kontrol perilaku dinilai menggunakan modifikasi kuesioner Breastfeeding Attrition Prediction Tool. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi logistik ganda. Sebanyak 45,8% ibu memiliki intensi kuat memberikan ASI eksklusif.

Abstract

Childbirth complications are one of the main causes of maternal death in Indonesia that occur due to high-risk pregnancies or deliveries and can threaten the lives of both the mother and the fetus, thus requiring appropriate midwifery care. Other factors that influence ANC visits include socio-cultural aspects, the level of anxiety of pregnant women, comfort, motivation, psychological factors, travel distance, support from health workers and family support. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Maternal Health Literacy Program in Betamue Culture in improving the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding ANC. This study is a Quasi-experimental study with a total sampling technique. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the average knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women before and after the implementation of the Maternal Health Literacy Program in Betamue culture. Which means that the Maternal Health Literacy Program in Betamue culture is effective in improving good knowledge and positive attitudes of pregnant women in ANC services.

Abstract

Perineal laceration is a common complication of vaginal delivery that can cause reproductive organ dysfunction and bleeding. As many as 85% of women who give birth vaginally may experience perineal laceration. One non-invasive intervention that can be performed to prevent this is perineal massage. This study aims to determine the difference in the degree of perineal laceration between mothers who received perineal massage and those who did not. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group approach. The sample consisted of 26 mothers who gave birth, divided into two groups, namely the intervention group (given perineal massage) and the control group (without perineal massage). Data collection was carried out at PMB Rosita and Ernita Midwife Clinic in Pekanbaru City from 24 April to 23 May 2025. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that in the intervention group, the majority of the 13 pregnant women who received perineal massage, 4 (30.8%) experienced grade I, 1 (7.7%) experienced grade II, and 8 (61.5%) had no lacerations. The Mann-Whitney test results showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the intervention and control groups in terms of the degree of perineal laceration. Conclusion: Perineal massage as a non-pharmacological alternative has been proven to significantly reduce the degree of perineal laceration in mothers giving birth. It is hoped that perineal massage can become one of the interventions applied in maternal health services to prevent perineal rupture in mothers giving birth

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Rokan Hulu Regency remains stagnant at 56%, far below the national target of 80%. This low achievement is influenced by insufficient maternal nutrition knowledge, postpartum stress, and limited social support. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of lactation massage and nutrition education interventions in improving breast milk production and maternal knowledge. The research employed a mixed-method explanatory sequential design with a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test control group, followed by in-depth interviews. A total of 60 breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 0–6 months were selected through purposive sampling. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test, while qualitative data were examined thematically. The results showed a significant increase in breast milk volume (≥20%) and maternal nutrition knowledge scores (≥25 points) in the intervention group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). Qualitative findings revealed that the intervention enhanced mothers’ confidence, reduced stress, and strengthened community support. This study concludes that combining lactation massage and nutrition education is effective in improving exclusive breastfeeding practices and should be integrated into primary healthcare services
