Abstract

Bactericide fraction as been isolated and identified from Zingiber gramineum Blume bark. The isolation carried out using partition by n-hexane, chloroform, and ethyl acetate eluent. The extract bactericide active (ethyl acetate extract) as  been isolated using column chromatograpic method by benzene-chloroform (3:2) eluen system. The activity test of that isolate using Micrococcus luteus and Eschericia coli. The chemical  structure of the compound was identified  using gas chromatography-spectroscopy massa with Wiley 275.L library. The active fraction for E. coli contain hexadecanoic acid, ethyl ester;  linoleic acid, ethyl ester; oleic acid, ethyl ester; and octadecanoic acid, ethyl ester. The active fraction for M. luteus contain octadecnoic acid; 9,12-octadecadienoic acid; octadec-9-enoic acid; and hexadioic acid, dioctyl ester.

Abstract

Streptozotocin cause hyperglycemic condition in mice. The objective of this study was to determine whether the hyperglycemic conditioned by streptozotocin (STZ) has an impact at folicullar atretic and estrous cycle prolonged. Mice were injected by STZ until hyperglycemic condition was reached. The vaginal smear was recorded daily for twice estrous cycle. Mice were sacrificed soon after the last vaginal smear observation. The ovary was removed, prepared by parafin method and stained by hematoxylin-eosin.The result showed that hyperglycemic causes increasing the number of atretic follicles, decreasing the number of corpus luteum and prolonged of estrous cycle.

Abstract

Investigation of waste cooking oil quality improvement have been done using H-zeolite as an adsorbent and fluid fixed bed reactor which was operated in a various temperatures. H-zeolite adsorbent was prepared through physical and chemical treatments as follows: washing, acid, calcination and oxidation. The characterization of this adsorbent covered cations contain (Pb, Cu, Zn, Na, K, Ca and Fe) using AAS, Si/Al ratio using AAS, surface area spesific, pore volume as well as pore diameter using surface area analyzer NOVA 1000, and acidity using gravimetric method with amonia adsorption. Quality parametric of cooking oil that were investigated covered water contain, acid as well as peroxide value and density. Sample of waste cooking oil was taken from cooking oil which have been previously used three times for frying kerupuk, tempe and tahu. Fifty milliliter waste cooking oil was flowed throught 10 g H-zeolite adsorbent in fluid fixed bed reactor which was operated at various temperatures (50, 70, 90, 110oC). The oil was placed in the bottle to be analyzed. The results showed that the adsorpstion process using H-zeolite adsorbent and fluid fixed bed reactor could reduce the water contain, acid and peroxide value and density, thus it improved quality of waste cooking oil. The optimum temperature was 70oC.

Abstract

This script aim to determine the maximal value of m of K2,3,m graph so that can be redrawn on torus without intersection of edges. Hereinafter, will be determined the toroidal crossing number of  K2,3,m which nontoroidal by the m minimize. To determined if the  K2,3,m graph is toroidal, it is enough with drawn the graph on torus without intersection of edges, whereas, to determined if it is nontoroidal, besides with drawn, is also needed by theorem about properties of graph that containing K5-subdivision. Then to determined the toroidal crossing number was used the technique by proof of the crossing number of  K2,2,3 and looked for of all probabilities of the edges is going to intersect. In this research, was obtained the result that maximal value of m of  K2,3,m so that can be drawn on torus without intersection of edges is 3, while the toroidal crossing number of  K2,3,4 is 2, and our conjecture is tcr().

Abstract

Ammunition is a tool that works to sabotage or destroy the target. Weapons Laboratory in TNI AL have ammunition caliber 57 mm C-60 Het, with more than 10 years of age. Ammunition caliber 57 mm C-60 Het has three sections, projectile, propellant, and primer.  Primary part of this ammunition is not working well, so that it is necessary to repair this section. Repairing of primary part is done  by changing the chemical compound AB3, DF3, and GI2. The purpose of this study is to determine chemical composition of primary part, so that it can optimize the sensitivity and detonation. The results show that the optimization begins with model estimation of two response by Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Futher, model estimation for each response is tranformed into individual desirability function to form joint desirability function. Results optimization caliber ammunition 57 mm C-60 by Generalized Reduced Gradient method (GRG), obtained sensitivity of 9.93 cm and the detonation of 108.68 dB, with compotition AB3 compound was 48.8 grams, DF3 compound was 21.0025 grams, and GI2 compound was 17 grams.

Abstract

A good  estimator has to fulfill some propertries such as unbiased, efficient and consistent. This research aims to study consistency and asymptotic normality of maximum likelihood estimator in MARS binary response model of Friedman, for predicting the continue response variable, at  predictor variables,  with linear combination of spline truncated.

Abstract

Antidesma bunius (L) Spreng., also known as buni, has traditionally been used as hypoglycemic, anemia, siphilis and anticancer materials. Buni contains alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid and tannin. The fruit extract of buni was tested for its biological activity using BST (Brine Shrimp Lethality Test). Result showed toxic effect of methanolic extract of fruit. In the present study, the fruit was extracted with methanol and then used for cytotoxicity test based on direct counting method against HeLa cell line. By probit analysis, it is known that the IC50 of the methanolic crude extract is 3.117 μg/ml. The lack of its IC50 is caused by the cytotoxic compound that is less extracted and there are many other compounds are extracted by methanol

Abstract

Several compounds, p-hydroxyacetophenone, b-sitosterol and stigmasterol had been isolated from hexane and chloroform extracts of stem bark of kedoya (Dysoxylum gaudichaudianum (A. Juss.) Miq.) (Meliaceae) respectively. These structures had been established based on spectroscopic data (IR and NMR) and by comparison with spectroscopic data of related compounds that had been reported.
