The Help movie becomes a site for redefining the superiority of white skin over black skin. The number of films with the central theme of oppression and discrimination against blacks makes whites feel they have to redefine their identity in the eyes of the world as people who bring enlightenment to blacks. The purpose of this paper is to identify forms of redefinition superiority in The Help movie. The theory that used in this paper is representation theory that formulated by Stuart Hall. The data obtained from observation of images (visual image) and sound/dialogue (audio) in which there is a text that describes the redefinition of the superiority of whites over blacks, and then analyzed using a constructionist approach. The results showed, The Help is an attempt to construct that not all whites discriminate against blacks, by presenting white figures who oppose discrimination and defend black rights through a book, which is then published and read by the public, but on the other hand, this film wants to convey that the black struggle not succeed without the presence of whites. Blacks will not get their freedom if whites do not take part in the struggle that they are doing. This film wants to redefine white superiority which does not always have a bad impact on black lives, because there are many positive aspects that can be generated through white superiority, such as improvement in the economic level, and raise black awareness of their potential.

Women in their efforts to end the subordination of their bodies and create a body positivity movement then formed their own media with a feminist perspective such as Jurnal Perempuan and Magdalene. This study aims to analyze and explain the form of representation of beautiful women in the feminist media of Jurnal Perempuan and Magdalene using Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis theory with a feminist perspective that looks at the text from the subject-object and writer-reader side and its relationship to the circumstances when the text was produced. The results of this study explain that women must find a way out to believe the existing beauty myths. the definitions of beautiful women and beauty from the Journal of Women and Magdalene do not differ much, these two media try to explain and convince that there has never been a right definition to explain women's beauty itself, the definition and shape of the boxes on women's beauty are wrong. and the pursuit of beauty is not right. Beautiful women must be interpreted more broadly than just physical appearance.

The use of audio-visual media as a documentation tool in research practice is growing along with technology development. Audio-visual media has advantages and benefits in searching for audio-visual data such as depth of information. This development is a new opportunity for research method innovation. This article argues that documentary films as an embodiment of audio-visual media are an alternative method in research practice. Documentary films are used as research tools, data/information, or research dissemination facilities and can be considered research methods. The use of digital media technology in making documentary films is also a concern of this article because it makes it easier for researchers, primarily to fulfill the functions of supporting tools for research data retrieval and data analysis. While documentary filmmaking has long been seen as a creative endeavor, it is now finding an opportunity in academia. However, some questions remain about the characteristics of documentary filmmaking as a research approach. This article attempts to show the methodological process adopted by documentary films as a qualitative research strategy. This study uses a qualitative approach with the method of literature study and observation and observation of two documentary film productions based on community research. This article will describe: 1) the documentary film approach as an alternative method in research practice; 2) stages of making a documentary film relevant to the need for data collection and analysis. The results of this study reveal that the use of documentary films as an alternative method of research offers creative and innovative ideas in research outcomes and supports research results that are rich, in-depth, dynamic, in sharing knowledge.
