Abstract

Commuter marriages face challenges that can affect the commitment of the couple. One of the main concerns in commuter marriages is communication, particularly how individuals can express their needs, thoughts, and feelings to their partners. This research aims to understand the correlation between self-disclosure and marital commitment among individuals in commuter marriages. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach, with a sample of 100 participants selected through convenience sampling. The research variables were measured using The Eight Dimensions of Self-Disclosure for self-disclosure and the Marital Commitment Inventory for marital commitment. The results of the Pearson correlation test showed a significant correlation between self-disclosure and types of marital commitment among individuals in commuter marriages (r = 0.432-0.462; p = 0.000). These findings indicate that efforts to improve the quantity and quality of communication between spouses, especially in expressing personal needs, expectations, feelings, and thoughts, can be made to maintain marital commitment in commuter marriages.

Abstract

Abstract

This research discusses the phenomenon of cyberslacking among organizational students during online learning in the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of the study is to explore the forms and reasons why organizational students engage in cyberslacking. This exploratory qualitative study involved 100 organizational students (16% male; 84% female) who participated in online learning at University X Semarang. Data were collected using a Google Form (open and closed questions) distributed through social media platforms. The results showed that the majority of organizational students engaged in cyberslacking by accessing social media platforms such as WhatsApp (25.5%), LINE (19.8%), and Instagram (19.5%), and common forms of cyberslacking activities were chatting (47.6%), scrolling (28%), and seeking entertainment (18.2%). Organizational students engaged in cyberslacking due to feeling bored (50%), having urgent matters (18%), and feeling tired (13%). Although they felt entertained, organizational students also felt guilty, worried, and unfocused during cyberslacking activities. Organizational students perceived their role as having responsibilities, wanting to apply knowledge, and being useful, so sometimes they had to engage in cyberslacking when there were important notifications related to their organization. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of self-regulation in learning for organizational students and the role of educational institutions in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of online learning.

Abstract

Post-traumatic growth refers to the positive growth experience after experiencing trauma, such as increased wisdom, maturity, appreciation for life, and spiritual growth. Meanwhile, broken home refers to a family in a disordered condition, with both parents no longer living together in one household or having already divorced, resulting in children usually living with a single parent. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, and involved four research subjects who were children of broken homes from families who had divorced. The subjects were males and females aged 20 to 27, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of analysis technique. The results of the study showed that all four subjects were able to achieve post-traumatic growth.

Abstract

This study aimed to test the effectiveness of online-based group stress management intervention for adolescent girls experiencing increased stress due to the distance learning system implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic. The intervention program was conducted for 8 sessions with 8 participants aged 16-17, with each session lasting 60-90 minutes. The effectiveness of the intervention was measured using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and Brief COPE questionnaire before, after, and one month after the intervention. The results showed a decrease in stress and an increase in effective coping strategies among the participants, indicating that online-based group stress management intervention can effectively address stress in adolescent girls during the implementation of distance learning systems due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The protection of children from sexual abuse, both within the family and society, is a fundamental right that must be guaranteed. The phenomenon of domestic sexual violence committed by family members indicates a lack of protection and security for children to grow and develop. The impact of such experiences can be detrimental to a child's development in the present and potentially dangerous in the future. This study aims to comprehensively describe the impact of domestic sexual violence and to discuss inhibiting and supportive factors in the recovery process. A qualitative phenomenological method with an Interpretative Phenomenology Analysis (IPA) approach was used in this study. The researcher conducted semi-structured interviews with an epoche attitude as the basis for answering the research objectives. Participants were purposively selected, and two female participants aged 10-19 years who experienced sexual violence by family members were obtained. The study found that there are psychological impacts that disrupt adolescent development in cognitive, emotional, physical, and social aspects. Additionally, there are post-traumatic symptoms, social factors that worsen the impact of sexual violence, and supportive factors that aid in the recovery process. The study also discovered a new finding: the lack of sexual education and power relations as contributing factors to domestic sexual violence.
