Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi Mind Set is a journal devoted to the development of psychology as a scientific discipline. Abstract

Sport confidence is important psychology's aspect for athletes to be successful in their performance. Swimmers in SMP/SMA Ragunan are junior talent athletes to accelerate in sports champion. This research examines the role of mental training in enhancing sport confidence of SMP/SMA Ragunan's swimmers. This is qualitative research. The result of this research showed that mental training has active role in enhancing sport confidence of SMP/SMA Ragunan's swimmers. Relaxation and visualization training plays the best role in enhancing sport confidence. This research suggests that Ragunan's swimmers have to continue mental training until they get positive effect in their performance. Besides, sport needs more sport psychologist in the future to give mental training and education program in another kind of sport.

Abstract

The honorary teachers are teachers who do not have permanent status or teachers who have not been appointed as civil servants. Problems of temporary teacher not only related to their employment status but also with the school which labeled as marginal school. This situation makes the honorary teachers have insecure feeling associated with their work (job insecurity). This study involved 121 honorary teachers from 34 educational institutions from kindergarten, elementary school, Junior High School, and Senior High School in the suburban area in Salatiga. This research used Job Insecurity Scale (JIS). The research found the job insecurity of honorary teacher in Salatiga which was dominized as moderate categorization. In particular, the highest source of job insecurity for honorary teacher in suburban area in Salatiga is a low possibility to be promoted in suburban school.

Abstract

One thing that distinguishes learn using network (online) and face to face learning is the separation between teachers and students that facilitated using online technology media, such as the Internet. Each participant in online learning should be able to manage their own learning (self-regulated leaner) in order to follow the lesson well. Development of a valid and reliable Self-Regulated Online Learning (SROL) scale is needed to help us address issues regarding the success of online learning, especially in developing various research on self-regulated online learning and its relation with other variables. The development of this measure carried out on 30 students' online classes by Universitas Indonesia. Single-trial test with Cronbach alpha generate the score which means SROL scale has high internal consistency. Calculation of the validity with criterion validity, which indicates that the measuring instrument SROL valid to predict students' academic achievement. Based on the integrative analysis of items, we selected 24 best items that distinguish individuals who higher and lower self-regulated online learning. Norms based on the group by using Scaled Score, with a mean of 10 and standard deviation of 3.

Abstract

Qualitative approach in psychology, substantially cannot be detached from the development of social and psychological theory. The paper tries to reposition the role of qualitative methodology in psychology. First, qualitative methodology in psychology remains complementary with quantitative. Especially for the reason that qualitative method ramifications, in intersubjectivity, plays a role for the understandings of psychological phenomena. Second, as the quantitative methods emphazises more on objective measures of research constructs, qualitative methods give ways for exploring and deepening many constructs which for long has been considered uneasy to be studied. Third, qualitative data are innovative and creative, in terms of technological development. Emergent qualitative method enables the possibility of comprehensive understandings of individuals, consciousness, and behavior.

Abstract

A survey as cited by one of the multinational companies in Indonesia showed that 60% of the generation of Indonesian young adults had been resigned from their jobs within three years of work. Turnover behavior begins with intention which becomes turnover intention, an important thing to be a strong predictor of turnover. Previous research showed there was a significant negative relationship between psychological capital and turnover intention. Turnover intention could be affected by the occupational future time perspective, which can affect personal choices and actions. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is significant influence between psychological capital and occupational future capital time perspective to turnover intention on young adult employees. This study used a quantitative approach. Samples of this research were 146 respondents which are 48% males and 52% females. Analysis showed that the significant effect of psychological capital and occupational future time perspective altogether to turnover intention. Practical suggestion for the companies to develop their employees' psychological capital, so they can facilitate employees' motivation and behavior intention to reach a better performance which will make a good impact for their companies as well.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate if there was a correlation between self-efficacy and self-regulated learning with goal orientation among senior high school students in Jakarta. This study hypothesized there was a positive correlation between self-efficacy and self-regulated learning with goal orientation among senior high school students in Jakarta. The participants of this study were senior high school students at SMAN 40 Jakarta, grade XI. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling. This study used a quantitative approach and used goal orientation scale, self-efficacy scale, and self-regulated learning scale to collect the data and was analyzed with discriminant analysis and cross tabs eta. The result of this research is fit with the hypothesis.
