Abstract

A study was conducted on the 2010-2020 Scopus data base on librarian competence, with the aim of knowing: a) The growth of scientific publications on the topic of librarian competence from the Scopus data base; b). Core journal growth rankings; c) Researcher productivity; d) Number of publications based on affiliation / institution; e) Number of publications by country; f) Number of publications based on document type; and h) Number of publications by subject. This study was conducted by searching through the Scopus database (http://www.scopus.com). A search on the Scopus database uses the term or the word Librarian Competency, on January 11, 2021, which is contained in the title, abstract and keywords. As for visualizing the development of research on librarian competence, the VOSViewer software is used. The results showed that scientific publications on librarian competency topics for the period 2010-2020 were 280 articles, most of which were from the Journal of the Medical Library Association, with 38 documents. The most productive writers are Zhang, Y. with 4 titles. Most of the documents came from the United States with 106 documents, with the type of journal articles, namely 230 documents, and the most subjects were Social Sciences with 52.90%. When viewed from the bibliometric visualization, six clusters of subjects were found. It is concluded that social science dominates the subject and the United States is the country with the most research on librarian competence.

Abstract

Purpose. This study aims to describe the potential of DOAJ as an alternative to open source learning during a pandemic.Method. The method used in this research is the literature study.Result and discussion. Based on the literature search, DOAJ's potential as OER during the pandemic can be seen based on the characteristics of DOAJ which are digital, online, free, and free of copyright and licensing restrictions. This study concludes that DOAJ has the potential to be used as an alternative source of open learning during a pandemic because of its characteristics that support efforts to prevent Covid-19 transmission. Given the potential of DOAJ as an alternative to OER during the pandemic, the use of DOAJ as an alternative to OER can continue to grow after the pandemic period. Therefore, further studies regarding the level of use of DOAJ as an alternative to OER or the level of DOAJ compliance with user information needs will be an interesting study to be investigated in future studies.

Abstract

Bimbingan Teknis Tenaga Perpustakaan (Bimtek), literally translated as Technical Training for Library Technician, is an activity carried out by the National Library of Indonesia through the Librarian Development Center (P3) unit as an effort to fulfill their responsibilities as a supervisory board. To avoid this, organizers need to finalize the planning as best as possible, one of which is by assessing the need for Bimtek materials that are in accordance with the interests and needs of the participants. Through this research, the authors conducted a need assessment for the first time at the P3 unit Bimtek involving librarians and library technicians on a national scale.. Abstract

Are all the information stored in digital libraries, both information in the form of collections or user personal data, guaranteed security? This article discusses the threats to information security in digital libraries and their prevention. This study uses a qualitative method with a research library technique, namely research that refers to previous studies, several expert opinions, and other reliable sources obtained by the author by digitally reviewing the research results. The research conducted shows that information security threats in digital libraries do not attack programs or applications that are used to manage information only, but also physical objects to store the information. Examples of information security threats to digital libraries are malware which consists of various types. The easiest way to keep information that is stored safely is by backing up (duplicating information). However, backup alone is not enough. It is necessary to improve the performance of librarians or other training managers by including various national and international events. Not only human resources, but various devices used in digital libraries also need to be updated so that the system that is run is not easily disturbed. In addition, digital libraries should in some time hold simulations of conceding information, so that when such unexpected incidents occur, libraries can take appropriate steps so that the impact that occurs is not more widespread.
