Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe the program of extracurricular activities of scientific papers to develop the talents of IPS students in MA del Bojonegoro, (2) Describe Implementation of extracurricular activities of scientific papers to develop the talents of IPS students in MAN Model Bojonegoro, (3) Knowing the obstacles and solutions in extracurricular activities of scientific papers to develop the talents of IPS students in MAN Model Bojonegoro. The type of research is field research (field research) and using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview, documentation and triangulation. Data is analyzed using the following scheme: data collection, reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the research show as follows: (1) The program of extracurricular activity of scientific writing is a prominent activity, this activity is presented so that students can develop talents in the field of IPS in terms of writing and research, extracurricular activities of scientific papers have been running well with the enthusiasm of students in following the activities (2) Implementation of extracurricular activities of scientific papers the field of IPS include: (a) The material is choosing learning materials according to the conditions and circumstances surrounding the students (b) The method used  includes lecture, discussion, question and answer and assignment. (c) Media, include media of view and view of hearings such as, laptops, LCD and loudspeakers; (d) Evaluation include: the techniques of evaluation of assignments, practices, and comparing the quality of scientific papers students from year to year. (3) Obstacles in extracurricular activities of scientific papers to develop the talents of IPS students in MAN Model Bojonegoro namely the constraints of facilities and infrastructure and time constraints. The solution of the school is by the addition of adequate infrastructure, especially internet access and additional reading and addition of time allocation.Keywords: implementation, extracurricular, activities of scientific writing, IPS.

Abstract

The importance of teachers’ strategy in the learning process is inseparable from the occurrence of several obstacles faced by the students. It is especially related to History subject. This subject is well-known for its numerous theories and stories. Thus, to make the teaching and learning process effective and to prevent boredom during the class activity, the teachers must apply the suitable strategies in teaching, particularly for history subject. The writer has formulated the objectives of this study, namely: (1) to describe the strategies which is usually use in the history of learning process (2) to describe the strategies implementation chosen by teachers to improve the learning process effectiveness of History subject for the Tenth graders of Social Science class in MAN 1 Malang, (3) to describe the obstacles faced by teachers when the learning process takes place. The results of the study show that, (1) the strategy commonly used is the use of receptive, inquiry, jigsaw and think pair share methods (2) the process of implementing the strategies chosen by the teacher to improve the learning process effectiveness of the History subject given for Tenth graders of Social Science class in MAN 1 Malang undergo several stages. Those are the planning stage that is making lesson plans; the implementation stage, which is a preliminary stage in which the teacher checks the students’ attendance and provides stimulus to students; and the core stage where the teacher uses a variety of learning methods that have been selected such as lecture, inquiry, think pair share, and jigsaw, (3) The obstacles faced by the teacher when the learning process takes place are the students themselves. The examples are the students’ skill to comprehend the material, students’ character, some passive students and noisy students.  Keywords: teacher strategy; learning  effectiveness; history subject

Abstract

In Indonesia, the dangers of disasters such as floods, droughts, storms, and landslides have caused much loss of human lives and livelihoods, economic and infrastructure degradation, social order changes as well as environmental damage. In the face of disasters, the improvement of the system's preparedness in the community to reduce the risk of hazards is done through mitigation and adaptation efforts. Under Law No.26 of 2007 on spatial planning confirms disaster mitigation to be an important aspect of attention. Malang city of East Java including the recorded area is potentially prone to disasters, either flood, landslides, tectonic earthquakes or volcanic earthquakes. This study aims to determine the efforts of Malang City Government to improve community preparedness in facing the threat of disaster in Malang. The method used is positivism approach with qualitative approach. The result of this research indicates that the readiness of Malang City Government in facing disaster is with structural and non-structural mitigation. The structural mitigation effort that is done is the improvement of urban drainage channels, increasing the RTH and RTNH, incessant in the greening program by building a city park where as a tourist place is also useful for urban RTH, river normalization, reforestation on the banks of the Brantas river and other small rivers and cutting big trees on the street. While the effort in non-structural mitigation is the existence of regional regulations governing disaster (Malang Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2017 on Disaster Management Implementation, Strategic Plan (RENSTRA) BPBD Malang City 2015 - 2018), build synergy program with all actors (ministries, state institutions, social organizations, business entities, and universities) to empower communities, simulate increased knowledge and community awareness, increase community capacity to reduce and adapt to disaster risks by simulating and direction.Keywords: disaster; preparedness; mitigation

Abstract

Religiosity is a religious appreciation and depth of trust expressed by daily worship, prayer, and reading of scripture. Religiosity can give a positive role to achievement motivation for the student. Correct understanding of his religion and the constant practice of his religious beliefs that will distinguish someone from others. Without a true understanding and practice of his religious beliefs, a necessity will form skilled individuals, initiative, leadership, responsible, honest, disciplined, loyal, optimistic, passionate and tolerant. Religious perspectives can play a positive role in relation to the achievement that the student will achieve in completing his education through understanding and belief in his religion. The higher the person's religious level the easier it will be for them to better complete their duties and responsibilities and to strive for difficulties in the face of religious values.Keywords: religiosity; achievement motivation

Abstract

Formal education is a systematic, structured, complex, and tired, started from elementary school until higher education. Informal education is a long life process. Because of its characteristics, this type of education is able to give a strong influence on individual personality development. Meanwhile, non-formal education is all kinds of education that are conducted deliberately, orderly, and planned. It is separated from formal education since it aims to educate certain students in achieving the learning objectives. This study aims to: (1) identify the non-formal education model of Mentari Ilmu 3 learning course institution in Sukun, Malang, (2) find out the result of the non-formal education program evaluation in Mentari Ilmu 3 learning course institution in Sukun, Malang, and (3) know the factors that inhibit and support the implementation process of Mentari Ilmu 3 learning course institution in Sukun, Malang. This study uses a qualitative method as a part of the procedure of the study producing descriptive-qualitative data in written and spoken form. The data are obtained from the people and attitudes observed. The data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the study are: (1) the education model of the Mentari Ilmu 3 learning course institution in Sukun, Malang is non-formal education, in which the curriculum is made based on the K13 curriculum. (2) The results of the non-formal education program evaluation conducted in Mentari Ilmu 3 learning course institution in Sukun, Malang consists of general evaluation held by LAZIZMU and special evaluation held by the internal party of the learning course institution, (3) the factors inhibiting the implementation process of Mentari Ilmu 3 learning course institution program in Sukun, Malang are the untidy management system, minimum coordination and commitment from the tutor, unclear target, and a minimum number of educators.Keywords: education model; non-formal; learning course institution

Abstract

Based on the theory of learning outcomes, Clark states that student learning outcomes in schools are 70% influenced by students' abilities and 30% are influenced by the environment. The part of the environment is parents and technology (gadgets). To prove the theory, the purpose of this research is 1. Find out the influence level of parental care on social science learning achievement of Grade VII students in SMPN 1 Singosari, 2. find out the influence level of gadget use on social science learning achievement of Grade VII students in SMPN 1 Singosari, 3. find out the influence level of parental care and gadget use on social science learning achievement of Grade VII students in SMPN 1 Singosari. To achieve the aims, the researcher employed quantitative research using correlational approach. The population consists of 324 students of Grade VII in SMP Negeri 1 Singosariand the researcher took 180 samples out of the population. The data analysis is conducted using classical assumption tests such as normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test and multiple linear regression analysis, determination, t-test and F-test. The results showed that parenting and the use of gadgets simultaneously or simultaneously affect the results of students' eyes IPS student grade VII SMPN 1 Singosari, meaning that the more optimal parent care pattern, bush in the optimal use of the gadgets used properly and parental supervision in the use of gadgets will affect student learning outcomes and student learning outcomes will be better.Keywords: parental care; gadget use; learning outcomes
