Abstract

This study aims to find out how to improve learning outcomes Mathematics students class III SD Negeri 028226 can be increased by using learning model quantum teaching. This study is a classroom action research. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach to the type of classroom action research. The subject of this research is the third grade students of SD Negeri 028226 Binjai with the number of respondents 25 students. Data from this study were collected through test results and observation results. Based on the results of the action obtained 87.5% who have completed learning. Thus in accordance with the established criteria that the model of quantum teaching can improve student learning outcomes in the Material rectangle students class III academic year 2016/2017

Abstract

Abstract. This research was conducted at University of Muhammadiyah South Tapanuli in semester VI student of mathematics education program that follow Real Analytical course. This study aims to determine students' mathematical reasoning ability after using constructivism approach and also want to know the effectiveness of constructivism approach to mathematical reasoning ability, as well as expected to give benefit to lecturer of Real Analysis course lecturer. The method used to achieve the goal is by experimental method with pre-experimental design research design. This research produces: A very effective constructivism approach is used to teach real analysis courses. There is an increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities after using constructivism approach.Keywords: Constructivism, Mathematical Reasoning, Real Analysis.

Abstract

Abstract. The problem examined in this study is how students respond to realistik mathematics education that uses the context of Toba Batak culture in teaching and learning activities. The aim of the researcher to analyze students' responses to realistik mathematics education using the context of the Toba Batak culture is to find out whether the responses given by students are positive or negative. Student responses are said to be positive if students feel happy about the components of learning used, the learning component used is new, students are interested in carrying out the same learning in later learning and students are interested in the learning components used. The research results obtained are students giving positive responses to realistik mathematics education using the context of Toba Batak culture. In other words, students happy with the components of learning, the learning component used is new, students are interested in carrying out the same learning in later learning and students are interested in the learning components used.Keywords: RME, Responses, Toba Batak Culture

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of cooperative learning type Think Pair Share on student learning outcomes in basic mathematics introductory courses at the FKIP PGMS UMSU Study Program. This study was a quasi-experimental study, using the one group pretest posttes only model, using one class as the study sample. The research instrument used in this study was a test / quiz in the form of 23 objective / multiple choice questions about set material and relationships contained in the basic mathematics introductory course. Based on the data obtained from the research results, there is an increase in the quality of learning in two stages, namely before the application of the Think Pair Share learning model and after the application of the Think Pair Share learning model. It can be seen that the values obtained by students at the post-test stage are superior and than before the application of the Think Pair Share learning model. The research hypothesis testing is related to how much influence the application of Think Pair Share learning models to improving student learning outcomes is done through statistical tests / t test. The result, obtained Tcount = 3.64. Then compared with Ttaraf at df = n-1, df = 42-1 = 41. With a real level of α of 0.05 is 2.02, if the price of Tcount is compared to T(table). It turns out Tcount T(table) (3.64 2.02). This figure shows that the Think Pair Share learning model has a positive effect on the ability to understand the subject matter of Basic Mathematics Introduction for students of the FKIP UMSU PGSD Study Program.Keywords: Think Pair Share, Basic Introduction to Mathematics

Abstract

The Problem in this research is lower capability of problem solving mathematical of students is the result of expository learning who did not considering multiple intelligences (multiple intelligence). The Purpose of this research was aimed to the improvement of mathematical problem solving capability and the interaction of KAM and learning factor toward the improvement problem solving capability. The type of this research is quasi-experiment research, subject of this research is VIII grade SMP Budisatrya Medan and sample selected by purposive sampling method. The subject of this research is divided  into 2 class, first class is given cooperative learning based on multiple intelligence and the second class that given regular learning or expository learning. To measure  the student’s capability  that use the instrument that has been validated by 8 expert and already tested that showed the results of reliability question (0,946) for KAM and (0,905) for problem solving capability test. Data analysis was performed with ANOVA two lanes  factorial. Based on the research results can be concluded that an increase in the ability of students' mathematical problem solving through cooperative learning based on multiple intelligence higher that regular learning and there is no interaction between prior knowledge of mathematics to increase the ability of solving problem mathematical.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika mahasiswa yang menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together dengan mahasiswa yang menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament pada matakuliah Persamaan Differensial. Pada Penelitian ini akan dilakukan berbagai kajian dan studi literatur guna memperoleh suatu kerangka dalam mengembangkan kegiatan pembelajaran, mulai dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran, penilaian dan evaluasi, sampai dengan revisi dan pengembangan kemampuan Dosen yang berkesinambungan. Abstract

Abstract. The research is motivated by the low ability of problem solving in student math SMP Negeri 6 Rengat, the activity of students in following the lesson is still relatively low. The us of fishbowl collaborative learning strategy is throught to be able overcome the problem solving ability of student math which is still low. The purpose of this research is to know the ability of problem solving of student mathematics by using fishbowl collaborative learning strategy. This type of research is experimental research. The research design used was randomized subjects posttest only control group design. The population in these villages is class VII. The class selected to be the experimental class is the class VIIA and the control class is the class VIIB. The data collection technique used in this research is the ability problem solving test in the form of essay. Data analysis techniques in this test use t test based on hypothesis test results obtained t count = -4,321 and t table = -2,010. Based on hypothesis test results t arithmetic t table with the real level used is 0,05. Ho rejected. So, it can be concluded that the ability to solve mathematical problem with the application of fishbowl collaborative learning strategy is better than the ability to solve mathematical problems with the application of conventional learning strategies in the class VII SMP Negeri 6 Rengat. Keywords: Collaborative Learning Strategy Fishbowl, Problem Solving

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to describe students' difficulties in solving problem solving problems in Algebra and Trigonometry courses. Subjects in this study were students of the Mathematics Education Faculty of Unika Santo Thomas Faculty of Teaching and Education study program in North Sumatra in semester 1 of the 2017-2018 school year, totaling 10 people. The data collection tool used in this study was a test of 5 questions in the form of a description. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques are carried out by tests, observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out with the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students had difficulty using the concept of equality and inequality squared, the use of the concepts of trigonometric formulas. Students also have difficulties in using number sequence principles and completing trigonometric equation solving, difficulties in disclosing information from problem solving and calculation errors. The contributing factor is the existence of several concepts and principles of algebra and trigonometry that are used in solving problems that have not been well controlled by students and are less thorough in performing calculations.Keywords: Analysis of Learning Difficulties, Algebra and Trigonometry

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of the concept by students of science class XI SMA Negeri 1 Rengat Barat. The purpose of this study is to determine the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students by class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Rengat Barat.This type of research is quasi exsperiment with randomyzed subject posstest only control group design. The analysis technique in this test is t-test. Based on the hypothesis test calculation its shows the significant value of the sample class is smaller than α that is 0.006 0.05. This means that it can be concluded that the ability to understand the concept of mathematics using the reciprocal teaching learning model is better than the ability to understand the concept of mathematics by using conventional learning model.

Abstract

Abstract. The research is based on the students’ low communication ability in mathematical field at SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Penyu. The round club learning model using is expected to overcome this problem and if becomes the purpose of the research. This is an experimental research which uses Randomized Subjects Posttest Only Control Group Design. Based the hypothesis test result is obtained that tcount= 2.255 ttable = 2.0003 and it alpha 0.05. It can be concluded that the students’ communication ability in mathematical field by applying the round club learning model can be increased better than the conventional one. Keywords: Round Club Learning Models, Mathematical Communication Skills of Students Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Penyu. Penggunaan model pembelajaran round club di duga dapat mengatasi komunikasi matematis siswa yang masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran round club. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Randomized Subjects Posttest Only Control Group Design. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh bahwa thitung = 2,255 ttabel = 2,0003 dengan taraf nyata adalah 0,05. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan penerapan model pembelajaran round club lebih baik dari pada kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan penerapan model pembelajaran konvensional (biasa) pada kelas VIII di SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Penyu.     Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajarn Round Club, Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa
