Abstract

This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach which aims to describe and analyze students' difficulties in completing the mathematical communication capability in review of mathematical resilience. The sample of research is the students of class VIII G SMP Negeri 2 Cisarua as many as 28 people. The instruments used are communication skill test, questionnaire of mathematical resilience and interview guidance. The result of data analysis showed that communication ability of students who have high resilience was able to solve the problem of mathematical communication skill well, as well as resilient students were able to complete the test of mathematical communication ability well, but the low resilience students were less precise in completing the test the ability of mathematical communication.

Abstract

The reasoning problem solving is aspect very important ini learning mathematics, not only increase the learning but can improve the analyze power and solve problems in learning mathematic. The student to have high self regulated learning and self efficacy to be learning better . The Purpose of this study is to determine relation reasoning problem solving mathematic with self efficacy and self regulated learning student at the eight grade of SMP Negeri 1 Kutawaluya, The 31 students. Technic used to analyze is correlation test for determine relation reasoning problem solving mathematic with self efficacy and self regulated learning students. Reaserch instrumen used was a postest reasoning problem solving and nontest questioner self efficacy and regulated learning student. The result of reaserch shows there positive correlate between reasoning problem solving mathematic and self efficacy with signification value 0,023<0,05 and self regulated learning with signification value 0,000<0,05. So, Self efficacy and self regulated learning students directly propotional to reasoning problem solving student because the higher its self efficacy and self regulated learning student then the higher reasoning problem solving students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how the improve mathematical communication ability of students in learning using contextual approach. The research method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method, with two different classes taken, where the first class gets the learning with the Contextual Approach and the second class using ordinary learning. The population is all students in one of the islamic junior hight schools in Cimahi city with a sample taken two classes. Both classes were given pretest and early questionnaires to determine their initial ability, then the experimental class was given learning with the contextual approach and the control class was given regular learning, and at the end of both classes were given postes that will on though to use help software SPSS 22 and Minitab 16. Analysis using Product Moment Pearson. The results showed a significan students in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This study was conducted by giving a five description test that has been validated to one of the upper classes. This research was conducted in class VII J SMP NEGRI 1 CILAMAYA WETAN with limited subject ie 6 students with high, medium, and low grade student classification. The results of the research were students' answers analyzed by the Watson error category. And the percentage of student error type in solving the problem of mathematical communication based on categories of error according to Watson is (inappropriate data/ ID) including into error which is high enough that is equal to 38%, (inappropriate procedure/IP) including into error which is quite high at 34%. (omitted conclution/OC) error is included to a fairly low error of 26%. While (ommited data/OD), (response level conflict/RLC), (undirected manipulation/UM), (skills hierarchy problem/SHP), and (above other / AO) of 0% each, including into very low errors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of mathematical communication skills of junior high school students from the influence of contextual approach. This research takes the form of a posttest pretest design that compares the influence of a contextual approach with a conventional approach. This study has a population that is all students of SMP class VII in Cianjur District while the sample is a student of class VII SMP Plus Al-Ittihad Cianjur. The samples were taken at random into experimental groups and control groups. Based on the data in the field, it can be concluded that the effect of improving mathematical communication ability of junior high school students who gain learning using contextual approach is better than conventional learning. Therefore, the effect of improving learning with contextual approach is much better while conventional learning is still very less.

Abstract

This research to find out in depth about the relationship of self confidence to the ability to think creatively mathematically MTs students. The population in this research is MTs in Cimahi City. Instrument in this research in the form of description of ability of mathematical  creative thinking as much as 5 item, and self confidence questionnaire of student. Methods in this research using correlational research  methods. The result of this research shows that there is a correlation (r) value on Person Corellation between self confidence with students’ mathematical creative thinking ability is 0,597**. Form these results show the level of relationships that are classified and indicate the direction of a positive relationship.

Abstract

This study describes the ability of mathematical connections. This study is a qualitative descriptive research with the subject of research as many as 27 students of class IX SMP Negeri 01 Cipongkor West Bandung regency. Subject given a written test in the form of an instrument about the connection consisting of eight items. After that, researchers conducted interviews with selected subjects. From the result of student completion and interview, it is found that the level of mathematical connection ability of junior high school students is still low. This is seen from the mistakes that students do in solving the problem, where students actually already understand the problem quite well as can mention the elements that are known and asked. However, students are less conscientious about how the relationship between the data is known and what is asked. So that students are wrong in choosing the right strategy in the settlement. In addition, this is also influenced by students' lack of understanding in the application of formulas. The errors are caused by several factors, including students are less understanding of the material and students are not able to transform the issues submitted into the knowledge it has.

Abstract

The ability to think critically is a process whereby one enables one to formulate and evaluate his own beliefs and opinions. The method used for the analysis of this research is Qualitative Descriptive Method that aims to analyze the results of students' work on critical thinking questions and self-tracking questionnaire students in SMPN 3 Batujajar West Bandung regency. The sample studied is 1 class of students who amounted to 39 students in class VIII-C SMPN 3 Batujajar in West Bandung regency. The test question used is critical mathematical thinking with 3 questions and non test self-efficacy on each student. The result of the analysis is the ability of mathematical critical thinking in junior high school in West Bandung regency based on the written description test is still quite low. This research is part of the thesis that will be examined by the author.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the relationship of mathematical resilience to students problem solving abilities. This research was conducted in MTs Negeri Kota Cimahi class VIII-I even semester in academic year 2017-2018. The method used is qualitative descriptive method. Population taken is all students of class VIII MTs Negeri Kota Cimahi. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, which is a determination and sampling technique determined by the researchers with certain considerations. The sample consists of 34 students. Circle material used in research. Research instrument as many as 5 items about problem solving and resilience statement scale as many as 40 statement. The conclusion gained is that there are difficulties experienced by students in solving problem solving problem and there is correlation between mathematical resiliency to student problem solving ability equal to 0,649.

Abstract

This study aims to know the achievement of the ability of the solution of the problems a useful or valuable junior high school students who used the realistic mathematics conventional by learning, the experimental work on this , matter used arithmetic is social class VII junior high school semester the even. Methods used is quantitative, who is in the form of experiments in supported by data from pretes and postes.The population research is junior high school students class VII in west bandung.With 43 sample graders experiment and 40 graders controls on the academic year 2017 / 2018. An instrument that is used is math tests the ability of the solution of the problems .Processing the data were analyzed using ibm spss version 21 application statistics . Processing data using analysis test normality and has been continued by test the average namely mann-whitney test .Based on the analysis conducted , results showed that the achievement of the ability of the solution of the problems a useful or valuable junior high school students who used the mathematics realistic better than conventional learning .
