Research with a scientific approach in an effort to help students' mathematical understanding of grade IX SMP in transformation material has the aim of analyzing the effect of the scientific approach on students' mathematical understanding ability on transformation material (reflection). In this study, the type of classroom action research was used, with the research subjects with the criteria being students of class IX-A SMP IT Budi Luhur Cimahi. The number of samples used were 21 students for 2 cycles. The analysis was carried out with test and non-test instruments, giving questions as research test instruments consisting of 5 pre-test and post-test questions in the form of descriptions that will measure students' mathematical understanding abilities. While the non-test instrument is a questionnaire scale of 15 statements given to students to measure students' self-confidence. The data processing technique for the test instrument used is the N-Gain analysis test, while for the non-test instrument, Microsoft excel is used. The results showed that the scientific approach affected the mathematical understanding ability of class IX-A students with average criteria with a value of 0.55. The average value of the pretest is 3.86 and the average value of the posttest is 12.71. Based on these data, there was an increase in the value of 8.86, while the average value of the questionnaire was 68.41%, meaning that it had a strong effect on students' self-confidence.

The purpose of this research is to study the mathematical thinking skills of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems by using the Problem Based Learning approach on fractional materials. This study is a class action study conducted in class VII B Junior High School Pasundan Sidamulih. This study is a class action study. The subjects in the study were 22 students, 12 male students, and 10 female students. This study was conducted as many as 2 cycles, accompanied by the provision of pretes and postes. The data collection technique carried out in this study uses test instruments in the form of pretes and postes, non-test instruments in the form of observation sheets of student and teacher activities. Based on the analysis obtained the average pretest score of 11.95 and the average postes score of 18.45. The data showed an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills by 21.74%.

Problems in learning mathematics that are often encountered include the inability of students to understand correctly the subject matter being taught resulting in the achievement of student learning outcomes being less than optimal. The purpose of this study was to describe the results of the analysis of the difficulties of class X SMK students in solving root form problems. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of the study were 13 students of class X at SMK 4 LPPM RI. The research instrument consisted of three root form test questions. The data collection technique used in this study was in the form of test results. The results of the study indicate that students' mastery of the material is above 70% so it can be said that students have no difficulty in solving problems. However, students still have difficulty understanding the concept of root form and errors in calculations. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that class X SMK students in solving root form problems in calculating the final settlement, while for indicators determining the concept of rationalizing root forms, it is above 70%.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and find out the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students by using a scientific approach to the material of straight-line equations. This research consists of two cycles based on the Kemmis & Taggart model. which consists of: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subject of this study was 30 students of VIII grade from SMP IT Budi Luhur Cimahi of 2021/2022 academic year. The test instrument used in accordance with the indicators of mathematical communication ability is in the form of a description of as many as 5 numbers. Normalized gain data was generated in this study, resulting in a score of 0.36. Data processing in the study was obtained from normalized gain data, with a score of 0.36. This shows that students' mathematical communication skills have improved, with a moderate category. The non-test instruments used included a questionnaire on the scale of learning interest attitudes as many as 16 balanced statements with positive and negative responses. The results of the response to students' interest in learning mathematics have a positive effect on students' mathematical communication, namely 76.6 with a positive category.

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) whose purpose is to examine the improvement of the mathematical understanding ability (KPM) of high school students in class X on a three-variable system of linear equations. This study uses 3 indicators of KPM. The subjects were students of SMA Kartika XIX-4 involving 12 students. The research was carried out in 4 meetings with 2 cycles. Each cycle was carried out for 2 meetings. The data in this study were analyzed using Normalized Gain / N-Gain, the technique used in data collection was using a test instrument in the form of questions given at the pretest and posttest and using a non-test instrument in the form of an attitude scale questionnaire. The conclusion of this study is that the scientific approach shows a change in student learning that is more independent.

This study is the background for errors in solving relationship and function problems. The study with the subject of class VIII students of State Junior High School 3 Cililin aims to describe the level of error carried out by students in solving relationship and function problems, the research methodology used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, and the data produced in this study comes from the test results given to students with indicators of questions 1) Determining Relationships which are functions, 2) Applying the concepts of relationships and functions, 3) Determining the value of functions, 4) Finding the concept of function relations, 5) Defining relationships and functions. From these results, it was found that the average student error was at a moderate criterion of 65%.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the improvement of learning outcomes on the material of a two-linear equation system using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in class X SMK X Multimedia 3 Group B SMK TI Garuda Nusantara Cimahi. The research method used is a two-cycle class action research method. The subjects in this study were 13 students of class X SMK X Multimedia 3 Group B SMK TI Garuda Nusantara Cimahi. The instruments used are in the form of observation, documentation and test questions. The stages in this research are conducting a pre-cycle (before the action), doing work on the LKS, and finally doing a final test (after giving the action). The data processing technique used is using excel The results of this study indicate that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can improve student learning outcomes at SMK TI Garuda Nusantara Cimahi class X Multimedia 3 Group B Multimedia.

The use of important teaching materials in the implementation of learning. This research also aims to support mathematics learning to be more interactive and effective and to support student activities in the learning process to improve well. Student learning outcomes also focus on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of mathematic teaching materials on mathematical critical thinking skilss. The research method used in this study is experimental research, namely those obtained from observations, questionnaires and tests. The participants in this research were grade VI students of SMPN 2 Kertasari which consisted of 2 classes. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis. The results of the study show three parts of effectiveness, namely the effectiveness of interaction showing 61% results with a moderately effective category, the effectiveness of understanding which shows 59% results in the moderately effective category and the effectiveness of teaching materials on mathematical critical thinking skills showing 62% results in the moderately effective category. Therefore, the use of mathematics teaching materials on mathematical critical thinking skills is quite good in its delivery and implementation.

With the help of teaching aids, this study intends to show how mathematics learning outcomes among students have improved. The sub-material used in this study is about slices and combinations. The venn diagram board is the teaching aid used in this research. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Purwakarta Regency by involving 20 students of class VII as research subjects. The data collection technique used in this research is using a written test (daily test) in the form of a description of 8 items. Processing of data from the results of the written test in this study is using the percentage formula. Based on the data analysis of students' mathematics learning outcomes, namely a) In the first cycle there were 6 students (30%) who completed and 14 students (70%) did not complete, b) In the second cycle there were 12 students (60%) who completed and 8 students (40%) which are not completed. So based on the results of the analysis obtained from this study, it can be seen that learning by using teaching aids media can improve student learning outcomes.

The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes in learning mathematics on the material of straight line equations using the Problem Based Learning approach. This research method is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out through 2 cycles. The research subjects were 19 students of SMP Negeri 16 Cimahi class VIII C. To obtain research data used instruments in the form of essay tests, interviews, and observation questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative. The results showed an increase in learning outcomes, in the first cycle students whose scores reached the KKM were 10 students (52.63%), in the second cycle there were 16 students (89.47%), besides that when learning was carried out students were more active in asking questions, and discuss. Thus, it is concluded that the Problem Based Learning approach can improve learning outcomes and student activity in learning the material of Straight Line Equations.
