Abstract

Background research is the condition of students who experience saturation in listening activities at the time of learning. Saturation is caused by several factors. 1. Interest and motivation to learn the students in the process of learning listening skills are low, 2. Less optimal media used by teachers to support the implementation of learning listening skills, 3. Teachers have not used audio-visual media such as the use of infokus in the learning process. Media that is an integral factor in learning can be an important factor in overcoming the problem. Quantitative research type descriptive method. The study population was 142 students consisting of six classes, and the sample was class VIII5 used by Cluster Random Sampling. The instrument for data retrieval is a written test of objective tests. The results of the study are generally quite good with an average of 94.043. Based on the indicators, (1) in determining what (what) the average score of students is 94.78 and is very good, (2) in determining who (who) the average score is 93.47 and is very good, (3) in determining why (why) the average score of students is 86.95 and is quite good, (4) in determining where (where) the average score of students is 94.78 and is very good, (5) in determining when (when) the average value of students is 98.86 and is considered perfect, and (6) in determining how (how) the average value of students is 100 and pertained perfect. Based on the research that has been done, audio-visual media suitable for news material, because it can improve student learning outcomes.Keywords: Listening, News, Audio-Visual

Abstract

Education is not only about intelligence shrewdness, but also children characters’ building. Character is soul attribute, morals, sensibleness that can make someone looks different with somebody eles. Someone with character can be defined has nature and personality. So, character is identical with morals. Character or moral of someone is formed through educational process. Family is the first time where educational character begin. In order to get great education , it needs management steps. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze and describe the achievement motivation of badminton athletes in Bungo district. This research has shown some of its outcome target such as becomes a topic discussion in local scientific meeting which has been held in STKIP-MB. In addition, the results of this study will be published in the National Journal of ISSN. Furthermore, this research was a qualitative research with descriptive method. The data were gathered through observation, interview and documentation study. Sources of data in this study were athletes and badminton coaches who joined in the bottom club PBSI Bungo. This research was conducted in June 2017 until August 2017. The conclusions of this research were: (1) motivation source for achievement of badminton athletes in Bungo was the intrinsic motivation. They wanted to be excellent athletes, champion and top athlete, (2) even though the motivational role of the badminton athlete of Bungo district in PB Bungo Sport and PB Tunas Bungo was high, but it could not contribute to the achievement. This happened due to coaches, parents and related parties didn’t fully support the athlete's process while training for the match.Keywords: Achievement motivation, badminton athlete

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan pendekatan Kontekstual dalam peningkatan kemampuan menulis cerpen di kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Bukittinggi. Pengambilan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan test unjuk kerja.Analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan menulis cerpen dalam mempergunakan alur/plot cukup, (63,77). Kemampuan siswa menampilkan tokoh baik sekali (87,69). Kemampuan siswa memperhatikan penggunaan latar/setting cukup, (56,15). Kemampuan rata-rata menulis cerpen secara umum tergolong lebih dari cukup ( 74,77). Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa karena sebelum penggunaan, rata-rata 57.Kata Kunci: cerpen, pembelajaran kontekstual

Abstract

Planning learning reading comprehension using cosntruktivisme approach manifested in a lesson plan prepared in accordance with step-by-step approach construktivisme. Implementation of learning reading comprehension using construktivisme approach consists of early learning activities, the core activity of learning that includes the step prabaca, saatbaca, and pascabaca, and the final activity of learning. Implementation of learning reading comprehension using construktivisme approach implemented by the steps of: a) orientation, b) elicitation, c) restructuring ideas, d) the use of the idea in many situations, and (e) review. Assessment of learning in reading comprehension approach construktivisme do with the assessment process and assessment of results. Assessment process as affective and psychomotor. While the results in the form of cognitive assessment. Assessment of learning reading comprehension using construktivisme approach in which the first cycle has increased the average results of the assessment process, namely 73.2 and 44.4% Kentuntasan. while in the second cycle the average results of the assessment process, namely 81.1 and 88.9% completeness. Abstract

One problem that happen in learning especially theme 6 and sub-theme 1 (theme what a beautiful my country and sub-theme the varieties of animals and plants) are the limitedness of students’ worksheet (LKS). At present, the available of students’ worksheet do not meet the requirement and do not based on the criteria in thematic learning model, yet. In addition, it cannot activate the students in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to produce the students’ worksheet in which valid based on thematic learning, what a beautiful my country and sub-theme the varieties of animals and plants in grade IV SD Koto Baru, Dharmasraya. This students’ worksheet is hoped to improve the students’ creativity and learning outcomes.The design of this study was design-based research, in Indonesia; it is named Research and Development. The design used in this study by following the process that developed by Sugiyono in which it consists of 10 phases; 1) the identification of the problem, 2) the collecting of information, 3) product design, 4) design validity, 5) design revision, 6) examination of product, 7) product revision, 8) test the product usage, 9) last revision of product, 10) production. The development of students’ worksheet in this study only uses 5 procedures. The validity of students’ worksheet is examined by 3 experts.The results of the development showed that the theme what a beautiful my country and sub-theme the varieties of animals and plants based on thematic learning in students’ worksheet at grade IV SDN Koto Baru, Dharmasraya were valid with scores 72%. It is based on the contents, constructions (the component of presentations), and the language used for learning at the 2nd semester grade IV SD. Based on the results above-showed, then the students’ worksheet can be examined.Keyword: Development, Students’ Worksheet, Thematic

Abstract

This classroom action research conducted in order to improve the writing skills of elementary school students. Reality on the ground that applying conventional learning suspected cause saturation on students that negatively impact students' ability to write essays. The use of concept maps can enhance the ability of elementary school students write essays primarily in essay writing descriptions. Based on the results of research conducted in the fourth grade SDN 07 Ngalau Tower IV Nagari District of North Bayang, use of concept maps shown to increase students' ability to write the essay descriptions are concerned. Increased ability to write essays of this description can be seen from the quality of the resulting composition of students, both in terms of capitalization, punctuation, idea / ideas presented, and keruntutan phrases used.Keywords: Writing Narrative Description, Map Concept

Abstract

As English becomes the global lingua Franca, the correlation between the English language and particular culture is problematic. Consequently, English Foreign Language (EFL) learners should have intercultural competence while improving their linguistic competence. Moreover, intercultural communication is more complex than communication between persons of the same culture. Thus, the practitioners of English language teaching need to know how to integrate the knowledge of intercultural communication in English language classes. This paper emphasizes the strategy of integrating the language learners’ intercultural communication competence in English literature teaching, especially in reading novel. Through reading novel, students are exposed to more cultural varieties and understand the culture concepts. The strategy mostly encompasses activating learners’ cultural awareness, considering context, and understanding obstacles in English reading comprehension from the perspective of cross-culture, and designing classroom tasks for the intercultural competence. By employing these, it is hoped that learners can improve their intercultural communicative competence during reading English literature

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze and describe the effect of fast reading on the level of comprehension of reading content as a study of literature review and application for students of PGSD Study Program STKIP Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo. This research has achieved some of its output targets. It was used as material in the local scientific meeting that has been held in STKIP-MB. The results of this study will be published in the National Journal of ISSN. This research used quantitative approach with quasi experiment and descriptive research. This research was conducted on students of STKIP MB Academic Year 2016/2017. The conclusions of this research were: (1) the study of literature review indicated that fast reading could give positive effect to reading comprehension level. The application of fast reading should consider the types of reading, reading objectives, and discourse readability levels, (2) the reading comprehension level after applying fast reading was better than the reading comprehension level before applying the fast reading when the researcher was done on same research subjects, (3) the reading comprehension level by applying fast reading was better than the reading comprehension level by applying conventional reading when the researcher was done on different research subjects. Thus, fast reading affects the level of reading comprehension, both in analyzing the study of literature review and on application for students of STKIP Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo.Keywords: fast reading, reading comprehension level

Abstract

Equal Education Package C equivalent SMA is one of the government-designed programs to reduce the number of school dropouts in Indonesia. If viewed from the duration of education pursued by the Indonesian people based on the gross enrollment rate and the net enrollment rate, obtained on average only until high school education. One of the program implementers of Package C is PKBM Kasih Bundo, but this education unit has not designed the learning with reference credit unit of competence (SKK), so there is no integration between the content standard with the standard process in its implementation. The purpose of this research is to improve the competence of tutors in designing curriculum devoted to annual program and semester program by reviewing standard of content and standard of non formal education process through workshop activity. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative where the results of the research will be described without changing the information obtained during the study took place. The data obtained is the data during KKG-TK activities took place using triangulation. The results obtained that this activity can improve the ability of tutors in the preparation of annual programs and semester program by mapping SKK in the form of face-to-face, tutorial, and independent.Keywords: Non Formal Education Package Equality C, Content Standards, Process Standards
