Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out and to describe (1) is the romantic ideology dominant in the works of the non- tradition of Balai Pustaka, (2) works of 1970-period, and (3) works of 2000 period. These questions arisen based on the real fact that the romantic ideology influenced the series of the history of Indonesian Literature, further more before modern Indonesian literature arisen, since 9-14 century in the old Javanese. This ideology is also find out in 19 century and in the works of Balai Pustaka tradition in 1920-1945.The data were taken by using random sampling. The structural-semiotics method and dialected method used to analize the data. The results of this research: (1) the works non Bapalai Pustaka tradition mainly in 1920 is dominated of realism ideology. (2) in popular literature (1970) is found out that romantics ideology is pseudo romanticism. The works in 1970, mainly the popular literature is as if as romanticism although pseudo-romanticism. Recently, the romantic ideology is played, distorted, re-bulit by using a ?pseudo-romaticism? word.

Abstract

In the Palace of Yogyakarta there are several manuscripts that became heritage, one of them is Serat Bratayuda. The text in the manuscript is known as derivative of Serat Bratayuda by Yasadipura I. Thus, the text is derived from Kakawin Bh?ratayuddha by Mpu Sedah and Mpu Panuluh. Through comparative methods that compare images with text, it can be seen that there are images that different from the text. The difference is caused by several factors, such as, the story of puppetry, the facts of life the community, and the creativity of the illustrator.

Abstract

This research aims in analyzing Mantra Pejinak Ular, a novel by Kuntowijoyo using sociology of literature approach. The Methods and technique applied in conducting this reseach are reading and understanding the novel completely, collecting and noting the data related to identify the cultural background of the novel Mantra Penjinak Ular by Kuntowijoyo. Furthermore, as sociological analysis of literature was done by investigating the social culture described in the novel Mantra Penjinak Ular. Abstract

Traditional expressions is one of folklore verbal that need to be preserved. Some expressions of traditional contain many teachings, social values, cultural, economic, religiosity, outlook on life, leadership, and even political values, so that the relationship of folklore Bangka language with expressions of folklore is very relevant because some of the culture of a collective that is inherited and passed down through generations. This study aims to describe the value and function of a traditional expression in Bangka community. This study is conducted by ?qualitative descriptive method and techniques of literature and interviews. Bangka traditional expression has a function as a medium to deliver advice, criticism, jokes, prohibition and religion.Keywords: traditional expressions, functions, qualitative descriptive

Abstract

The gentry is a special group in Javanese society who have their own ways of life in order to maintenance their status. This article described the ethos shown by the gentry in Para Priyayi, a novel by Umar Kayam. This is a qualitative research and the result described descriptively. The data collected by recording events or dialogues in this novel. The data were analyzed using sociology of literature. The result shows that the gentries have some ethos that distinguish them from ordinary people. Key word: gentry, ethos

Abstract

The three purposes that would be reached based on the problems in this research: 1) describing the characteristic of miinolitra studying model, 2) identifying the increasing of result studying, 3) describing the change of student?s behavior in class 8E SMP Negeri 33 Semarang. The approach used is class action research. This research was conducted in two ways. The result of this study is the class average 66.58 in pre-cycle step (done by 16 students), 76,56 in first step (done by 24 students). This thing shows that there is increasing of student?s goal 11.30. Wanted-to-know-everything behavior, cooperative, independent, and wishing of getting better score are also increasing. According to research result and journal analysis could be known that students behavior score in first step is, 4.25 (good category) and second step is 4,30 (good category). Abstract

This study reveals the life giving meaning process in Afifah Afra?s novel Akik dan Penghimpun Senja. The human giving meaning of life process was relatives depended on individual?s comprehension and competence read the signs on the universe. The aim of this study was describing the giving meaning of life of the characters in the novel, so the readers could get the guidances to face the phenomena occurs in the society by using Viktor Emil Frankl view of logotherapy. Afifah Afra?s novel Akik dan Penghimpun Senja delivers four points of giving meaning of life process such as (1) contemplation of creating humans and universe, (2) natural conservations and maintenance, (3) klenik and the cooperation between human and ghost phenomenon, and (4) human?s religion aspects. Abstract

A literary work used by author in offering some ideologies to the readers. Through this literary work, especially the conflict between characters, an author can influence reader?s view and ideology. This article tends to explore ideology contention of the novel Gadis Pantai by Pramoedya Ananta Toer used Gramsci hegemony analysis. The result of this analysis is novel Gadis Pantai offers three ideologies: feudalism, coast cultural primitive, and socialist realism. In this novel, the two contrast cultures viewed as a quiet enough culture so that the ideal culture is socialist realism. Keywords: ideology, coast, gentry, hegemony, socialist realism.

Abstract

The focus of the problem in this study is the values of local wisdom within two oral traditions of Warag-Warah and Ringgok-Ringgok of Komering Tribe, South Sumatra. This study aimed to identify and to describe elements of local wisdom within those oral traditions. In addition, this study was established as a real effort to explore, to inventorize, and to document the oral traditions of Komering society. A descriptive method was applied in this study. The data were analyzed by applying qualitative approach on ethnographic elements to demonstrate and explain the value of local wisdom within those oral traditions. The theory applied in this study were oral literature and local wisdom. The conclusion from the analysis proved that there was a concept of social relations among individuals, among individuals and society, among social groups, and among individuals and their God. The value of local wisdom that had been identified were: 1) belief in God, 2) deliberation, 3) responsibility and 4) helping each other. The actualization of the value of local wisdom within the oral traditions of Warag-Warah and Ringgok-Ringgok was in form of behaving in ways that help each other, solving problems by means of deliberation and responsibility.
