Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation between viability and vigor test results of laboratory and field conditions of high salinity in two varieties of soybean plants. The research was conducted in January to May 2015. This study consisted of two experiments. The first experiment was conducted at the Laboratory of Science and Technology Seed and second trials in experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Syiah Kuala. Materials used Anjasmoroand Kipas Merah soybean seed varieties, sea water Alue Naga, distilled water, top soil, and rice paper. The design is completely randomized design in the laboratory and in the field randomized block design. Variables measured in the laboratory is the potential for growth, germination, speed of growth and seedling dry weight of normal, while in the field is a potential to grow, the ability to grow, plant height 15, 30, 45 days after planting (DAP), weight mass wet and  weight mass dry 45 DAP. The results showed the relationship between testing in the laboratory and in the field with a correlation coefficient of 0.98. Increased salinity concentration is bad for seed germination and plant growth. Anjasmoro varieties more tolerant to salinity than Kipas Merah at variable of plant height by 15, 30, 45 DAP. Keywords: salinity, variety, viability, vigor

Abstract

Peat soil has a high acidity levels, causing low fertility rate, but can be lowered by amelioration. Ameliorant materials that are widely used today are dolomite and limestone which contains calcium carbonate (CaCO3). All material containing Ca compounds can be used as ameliorant material to neutralize the soil acidity that basically adding Ca and lower Al. Waste shells also have the main ingredients in Ca compounds in the form of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) at higher levels when compared limestone, egg shells and other materials, seen from the level of violence kerang.The aim of this research to assess the utilization of waste shells as an alternative ameliorant material on peatland. Research conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Teuku Umar, Meulaboh in June 2014 to December 2014. Analysis of the chemical constituents shells held in Baristand Industry Banda Aceh, parameters observed were peat soil pH before and after being given ameliorant waste shells, Ca compound, Na, P, and Mg and micro nutrients (Fe, Cu, Ni, B, Zn and Si) in 100 grams of waste shells. This study was followed by the application of waste shells on spinach crops as an indicator of plant growth and production parameters were observed. The result of this research shows that the content of Ca as a constituent CaCO3 in mussel shells higher than dolomite. Giving flour shells can raise the pH soils. The giving of 1.9 ton ha-1 shell clams flour showed the growth and yield of spinach were not significantly different from shell clams flour showed or dolomite flour at a dose of 3.8 ton ha-1. Abstract

The aims research were to know the effect of NaCl concentration and variety towards viability, vigor and vegetative growth of seeds of mung bean (VignaradiataL.), as well as it is not real interaction of these two factors. Experimental design used in this research is a complete Random Design (RAL) factorial pattern. Factors examined include the concentration of NaCl and varieties. The concentration of NaCl which consists of three levels: 1000, 2000 and 4000 ppm,and varieties consist of three levels, namely,walet, perkutut, and betet. The observed variables include the potential for power is growing, germinated, seed germination uniformity, growing speed, and high vigor and seedling plants and number of leaves at the age of 10, 20 and 30 HST. The results show is the concentration of NaCl real effect against a potential of growing and seedling vigor. Mung bean germination and vegetative growth is best found in the treatments with NaCl concentration of 1000 ppm/L water. While the real effect against to seed germination uniformity.The best germination and vegetative growth of mung bean plants found in perkututvarieties. There is no real interaction between the concentration of NaCl and varieties against a potential of growing power, germinate, grow, seed germination uniformity, vigor of seed sprouts green beans as well as the high number of plants and leaves of plant mung bean. Keywords: mung bean, NaCl concentration, viability, vigor

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of mulch and NPK dose towards growth and production of red ginger and the interaction of both factors. This research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications, the first factor is kinds of mulch that consist of three levels: without mulch, straw mulch, and spadix palm mulch. The second factor is dose of NPK fertilizer that consist of three levels: 75, 100 and 125kg/Ha. This research was conducted at experimental farm, Faculty of Agriculture Teuku Umar University, Meulaboh West Aceh, from 4 February until June 2013. The research showed that kind of mulch influenced significantly on plant height, aged 90 and 120 after planting. The number of tillers/plant aged of 30 after planting, significant effect on plant height, aged 60 after planting, heavy of  rhizomes and production per hectare, but the effect was not significant on high plant, aged 30 after planting and the number of tillers aged 60, 90 and 120 after planting. The best Growth and production of red ginger found in spadix palm mulching and straw mulching. Dose of NPK fertilizer significantly affected the rhizome weight per clump and production per hectare, but was not significant on high plant, number of tillers/plant aged 30, 60, 90 and 120 after planting. The best production of ginger found in NPK dose of 125 kg/Ha. There was no significant interaction between mulch and NPK treatment against any observed variables. Keywords: dose of NPK, growth, mulch, red ginger

Abstract

For study of moisture content and BET equation to the shelf life of cocoa has been conducted. Increasing the quality of cocoa beans is with proper post-harvest handling, including how the harvest, the level of ripeness, curing, fermenting, drying up storage. The purpose of this study was to determine the water content and the appropriate levels of critical in determining the shelf life of cocoa. The benefits of this research are asinformation for farmers in determining the shelf life of cocoa in order to design a storage area corresponding to the respiratory system owned by cocoa. The results showed that the effect of fermentation facilitator (Staphilococcus cerevisiae) and drying temperature on water content showed that the fermentation facilitator (Staphilococcus cerevisiae) highly significant effect on water content. The drying temperature is also highly significant effect on water content. BET equation obtained was Y = 2,912x + 1.238 (R 2= 0.965), Y = 2,897x + 1.353 (R2 = 0.968) and Y = 2,806x + 1.89 (R = 0.954). Keywords: BET quation, cocoa, shelf life, water content

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of amelioran ash of spadix palm to accessions the local rice as well as real whether the interaction of these two factors on the cultivation occurring in the peat. This research was compiled in a separate Swath Design Split plot with 2 and 4 treatment groups, consisting of 4 local rice accessions, namely: Pandrah, Boh Sirutoh, Pinlago and IR-36. Factors amelioran the ash of spedix palm consists of: A0, A1 = control = 15 ton ha-1 (3.38 kg plot-1). The results showed that the real effect of accession towards high plant age 30, age 45 HST and very real effect at age 60 HST, influential real accession number of saplings against age 60 HST, but has no effect on real at the age of 30and 45 HST. Accessions take effect against the number of saplings of real productive and very influential real against the weight of grain per plot. Pandrah accessions (V1) has the ability level of the rate of growth at a high level of crop, the amount of the child, the number of saplings of productive and heavy grain keringper plot. Treatment of the amelioran ash of spedix of palm on peat, was able to increase the growth of plants at high levels, the number of chicks, the number of saplings of productive but the effect is not real against the weight of dried grain per plot.Keywords: ameliorant, ash spadix palm, local rice, peat

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of type of cuttings and concentration of growth regulators on the growth of plants Growtone patchouli and real absence of the interaction of both factors.This research was conducted at the Experimental Farm at the University of Teuku Umar Meurebo District of West Aceh district. Research began on August 3 until September 3, 2015. The material to be used in this study is a cuttings patchouli with age and the same diameter, the upper soil (top soil), in the form of cow dung manure is ripe, grow roots aphrodisiac brands Grow Tone and fungicide Dithane 46. The tools used in this study is polybag, 30 cm wooden ruler, paranet 50% of light, gembor. Signboard and treatment license plate and stationary for supporting the research.The experimental design used in this study was a randomized block design (RAK) 3 x 4 factorial design with three replications. Factor Type Cuttings consists of three levels ie: S1 = cuttings shoots; S2 = cuttings limb; S3 = stem cuttings. PGR concentration factor (Z) used consists of three levels, namely: Z0 = 0 g ml-1 water; Z1 = 3 g ml-1 water; Z2 = 6 g ml-1 water; Z3 = 9 g ml-1 of water.The results showed that the type of cuttings significant effect on the number of leaves of patchouli at the age of 14, 28, 42 and 56 days after planting (DAP), shoot length at the age of 42 and 56 (HST), the number of roots and root length at the age of 56 HST, Real impact on the long shoots at the age of 14 and 28 days after planting. No real effect on percentage of cuttings life at the age of 56 HST. Of the various types of cuttings were tested patchouli, patchouli plant growth best in the encounter on the type of patchouli shoot cuttings (S1).The results of the research that has been conducted shows that the dose concentration Growtone very significant effect on the number of leaves of patchouli at theage of 14, 28, 42 and 56 days after planting (DAP), shoot length at the age of 42 and 56 (HST), the number of roots and root length at the age of 56 HST. Real impact on the long shoots at the age of 14 and 28 days after planting. No real effect on percentage of cuttings life at the age of 56 HST. Of various concentrations of plant growth is tested growtone the best value found in the treatment with a concentration of 6 g cuttings growtone-1 (Z2). Abstract

Some high yielding varieties of corn that has been released has wide adaptability, but the specific agro-ecological conditions are still required testing to see the response of plants to the specific agroecological conditions. Assessment conducted Farming Group Sawah Datar, Talaga Kulon Village, Sub District Talaga, District Majalengka the Month fromJune to September, 2014.Implementation of activities involving farmers as implementing activities. Treatment with implementing the technology components Integrated Crop Management (ICM) and non ICM. Objective assessment to determine the adaptation of several new varieties of hybrid maize in the local area conditions (location specific) by applying the Integrated Crop Management technology components that can improve theproductivity of maize.Observed data are agronomic data (plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter at the age of 30, 60 and 90 days after planting, flowering time of 50%, the number of cobs per plant, ear length (cm), diameter of cob, grain weight per ear (g) , 100 grain weight (g), cob weight (g), dry seed weight (t ha-1), weight stover (t ha), corn cob weight (t ha-1)), farming and supporting data (characteristics region and precipitation during the assessment).The performance of agronomic data were analyzed using t-test using SPSS for Windows 20.0 and the data were analyzed using a corn farm financial analysis and feasibility analysis of farming (R/C). The study showed that the productivity of hybrid corn varieties Bima-18 by applying the technology component Integrated CropManagement highest maize (9.24 t ha-1) than the Bima-19 (6.17 t ha-1) and the Bima-20 (7.05 t ha-1) that is suitable to be developed in the region Majalengka. The results of the analysis of the implementation of the components of PTT corn farming in hybrid corn varieties Bima-18 gives the value of R/C of 3.01. Keywords: adaptation, corn, hybrid corn varieties, Integrated Crop Management
