Abstract

The increasing demand for high-speed, stable, and reliable internet services at IKPIA Perbanas—driven by educational, research, and administrative needs—has posed challenges in selecting the most suitable Internet Service Provider (ISP). With numerous vendors offering diverse bandwidth packages and pricing, a structured and objective decision-making method is essential. This study proposes the development of a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to assist in the selection of the most appropriate ISP. The research adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing both primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to five experts comprising the tender selection team. Secondary data were obtained through observation and interviews. Seven key criteria were identified: bandwidth, benefit, experience, service level agreement (SLA), support, hardware, and security. Each criterion was weighted and evaluated using the SAW method. The resulting system calculated normalized performance ratings and preference values for each vendor. The analysis showed that PT. B achieved the highest preference value (0.97), followed by PT. E (0.93), indicating PT. B as the most suitable vendor. The developed system successfully supports transparent, criteria-based ISP selection, enhancing the efficiency and objectivity of the procurement process at IKPIA Perbanas.

Abstract

Price fluctuations of animal-based food are a significant issue in Indonesia, especially for low-income communities. In 2023, chicken prices increased by 4.55% and beef prices rose by 11%, contributing to inflation in East Java. Fluctuations in the prices of tuna and milkfish also affected purchasing power and the consumption of animal protein, which remains relatively low compared to other Asian countries. This study aims to predict the prices of animal-based food commodities in Surabaya City and Malang Regency using the Vector Moving Average (VMA) method, which is capable of capturing strong correlations among variables in multivariate time series data. The study covers daily prices per kilogram of beef, chicken, tuna, and milkfish throughout 2023. The 14-day price prediction at the beginning of 2024 shows that the best model for Surabaya is VMA(2), while for Malang Regency, it is VMA(3), selected based on ACF and PACF plots, low AIC values, MAPE values, and consistency of prediction results. The evaluation results using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) indicate that in Surabaya, beef (0.63%), chicken (2.51%), and tuna (4.76%) achieved high prediction accuracy, while milkfish (13.38%) falls into the “good” category. In Malang Regency, the VMA(3) model yielded more consistent prediction results, with all commodities showing MAPE values below 10%: beef (5.62%), chicken (2.43%), tuna (5.61%), and milkfish (2.18%). These results show that the VMA model performs well in capturing the price dynamics of food commodities, as evidenced by the low MAPE values.

Abstract

School libraries support the learning process by providing information sources that enrich students' insights. Bangselok 1 State Elementary School (SDN) library faces problems in its management system, which is still conventional, making it less efficient in data collection, borrowing, and returning books. This research aims to improve the efficiency of the school library book lending process by using Process Reengineering (BPR) and Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN). The current process of borrowing books was inefficient, taking 16-22 minutes for borrowing and 12-18 minutes for returning books, with throughput efficiency ranging from 40% to 100%. The conventional method was identified as time-consuming and error-prone, leading to wastage of resources. A redesigned process was proposed, eliminating unnecessary steps and automating tasks, which reduced the total time, achieving a throughput efficiency of 100% in both scenarios. In addition, integrating an Android-based library management system is recommended to facilitate new processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance service quality. Implementing this system is expected to optimize library operations and support the school's educational goals by providing timely access to resources. This study shows that implementing BPR and BPMN can significantly improve library processes, benefitting educators and students at SDN Bangselok 1 and emphasizing the need to modernize library management practices.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of diseases in pet cats highlights the need for a diagnostic support system that is both fast and accurate. The Certainty Factor (CF) method is widely used in expert systems to represent uncertainty in decision-making. However, its reliance on subjective expert judgment can reduce diagnostic accuracy and system confidence. This study aims to optimize CF values using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, enabling the system to adapt better to actual medical data. CF values were initially collected from two veterinary experts and combined using the median method to minimize bias. These values were then optimized using PSO, with parameter tuning performed individually for each disease to maximize fitness. The dataset used for validation consisted of 100 medical records of cats diagnosed with one of nine common feline diseases, including Ringworm, Scabies, Helminthiasis, and others. The results show an increase in diagnostic accuracy from 85% (using original CF) to 88% (after PSO optimization). Moreover, 70.73% of the cases with consistent diagnoses before and after optimization showed an increase in final CF values, indicating greater confidence in the system’s diagnostic decisions. These findings suggest that the integration of CF with PSO not only improves diagnostic accuracy but also strengthens the reliability of expert systems in the veterinary field, particularly for early and efficient identification of cat diseases.

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of stock management inaccuracies and sales record discrepancies at Toko Dadi Barokah, primarily caused by manual recording systems. These manual processes often result in mismatches between recorded sales and actual revenue, delayed stock updates, and poor customer service. The objective of this research is to design and implement a web-based point-of-sale (POS) information system to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The urgency of this study lies in the operational inefficiencies and financial risks associated with manual systems, including delayed inventory updates, misaligned stock levels, and revenue loss due to poor oversight. To overcome these challenges, an integrated system was developed that encompasses inventory management, sales recording, and integration with financial and logistics subsystems. This system was designed using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with iterative prototyping and user-centered development. The implemented web-based POS system showed significant improvements in the accuracy of stock and sales data, reduced operational errors, and streamlined business processes. Performance evaluation and a comparative case study of similar retail enterprises provided additional insights into system scalability and adaptability. This research contributes to enhancing the operational efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by offering a scalable technological solution tailored for limited-resource environments. The findings offer practical implications for similar businesses seeking to leverage digital transformation to improve service quality and competitiveness in increasingly digital retail landscapes.

Abstract

This study develops a web-based Service Management Information System tailored for small-scale tool maintenance businesses that traditionally lack integrated management solutions. These micro enterprises commonly encounter operational inefficiencies such as poor workflow management, inaccurate cost estimation, and manual transaction recording, which hinder service quality and diminish customer trust. The proposed system addresses these challenges by automating critical service functions, including customer queue management, technician diagnostics, spare parts tracking, and invoice generation, thereby improving operational efficiency and transparency. The development process followed the Waterfall model within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), providing a structured framework covering requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance phases. A key feature of the system is the integration of the Time and Material Pricing (T&M) method, enabling dynamic cost calculation based on actual labor hours and material usage. This method ensures fair and transparent pricing, which is vital for sustaining customer confidence in environments with variable service demands. Functional validation through Black Box Testing confirmed that the system’s core modules met all specified requirements without significant errors. Furthermore, a user satisfaction survey involving 30 respondents indicated substantial improvements in cost transparency, service speed, and ease of status tracking. Overall, the system markedly enhances both operational performance and customer experience in small tool maintenance workshops. The findings suggest that this web-based solution supports digital transformation in a traditionally manual sector, promoting competitiveness and sustainability for micro enterprises. Future enhancements include mobile application development and integration of digital payment systems to further optimize service delivery.

Abstract

The JKN mobile app is a digital platform developed by BPJS Kesehatan to help users access information and manage their membership independently. This research assesses the effectiveness of the application by employing the framework developed by DeLone and McLean, which includes aspects such as the quality of the system, the quality of information, the quality of service, and the intention to use, User Contentment, and Overall Gains. A quantitative approach was used, applying PLS-SEM for data analysis. Based on the Lemeshow formula, the minimum sample size was 384, and 400 active users of the latest app version participated. The analysis was conducted utilizing SmartPLS 4. Results show that the quality of the system and the quality of the information significantly influence user contentment and their inclination to participate. Thus, user contentment is essential in determining the perceived overall advantages. The study indicates that the app's success is more influenced by technical performance and user experience rather than service quality. This highlights the need to improve system reliability, interface usability, and information accuracy. Users tend to value fast access and functionality over support services. Continuous improvement in these areas can help increase satisfaction and long-term usage. The findings suggest that focusing on user-centered design and regular updates will strengthen digital health engagement. These insights can also serve as guidance for similar e-health initiatives in developing countries.

Abstract

Color blindness is a visual impairment that limits an individual's ability to accurately perceive certain colors, particularly red, green, or blue. This condition can hinder daily tasks, especially when color identification is crucial. This study proposes a color correction system designed to enhance color perception for individuals with color vision deficiency (CVD), focusing on important visual areas within an image. The method involves converting RGB images into LMS color space, simulating types of color blindness (protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia), detecting visually important regions using a saliency mask, applying color correction through a ResNet-based deep learning model, and performing a reverse transformation back to RGB using a CycleGAN. A total of 5,020 images were used for evaluation, and the proposed system achieved an average Root Mean Square (RMS) error of 0.0212. The Mean Absolute Error (MAE) ranged from 0.1541 to 0.5582 depending on the CVD type. In addition to quantitative evaluation, qualitative validation was conducted through a GUI-based user test involving 10 color blind participants. The system showed the highest effectiveness for deuteranopia with a color recognition accuracy of 71.666%, followed by tritanopia at 59.666% and protanopia at 46.500%. These results indicate that the proposed system offers significant potential in aiding individuals with CVD to better interpret color-based information, especially in visually important regions of an image. Future work may explore broader datasets and alternative deep learning architectures to further improve accuracy and adaptability.
