Abstract

Toddler weight is a measure of toddler growth KMS is a media used to assess toddlers’ growth and development. A mother’s knowledge regarding the interpretation of KMS is an important thing to pay attention to because the mother is the first spearhead in understanding her toddler nutritional status. The purpose of this research was to analyze correlation between the level of mothers’ knowledge about the interpretation KMS and toddlers’ weight (12-59 months) at Posyandu Jokarto village. The research method used is an analytic observational research method with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling using simple random sampling, the number of samples is 75 respondents. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The results showed that most of the respondents had good category knowledge about the interpretation of KMS, namely experiencing toddler weight gain (96.9%). The statistical test results using Spearman Rho obtained a value of 0.590 with a significance of 0.000 (<0.05). From these results, Ho was declared rejected, which means that there is a fairly strong and significant correlation between the level of knowledge of the mother about the interpretation of KMS and the weight of the toddler (12-59 months). Respondents are expected to regularly participate in posyandu activities and be more active in asking midwives regarding the interpretation of KMS and toddler nutrition. Can be a useful reference for further research related to mother's knowledge about the interpretation of KMS with toddler weight.

Abstract

Asthma is the most common chronic respiratory disease found in children or adults, characterized by shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing, and impaired expiratory flow. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of Bronchial Asthma in children in the Ambunten Health Center Work Area. The type of research used in this study is quantitative, the research design used in this study is correlation with case control design. The type of sampling used is Non Probability Sampling which was carried out in the Ambunten Health Center Work Area on May 17-31, 2024. The results of the study showed that P. Value: 0.00 = ≤ 0.05 = there is a relationship between cigarette smoke and Asthma. Oddratio: 21.5 = people exposed to cigarette smoke are 21.5 times more likely to get Asthma than people who do not have Asthma, P. Value: 0.02 = ≤ 0.05 = there is a relationship between weather changes and Asthma. Odratio: 7.8 = people exposed to weather changes are 7.8 times more likely to get Asthma than people who do not have Asthma, P. Value: 0.015 = ≤ 0.05 = there is a relationship between stress and Asthma. Odratio: 0.214 = people exposed to stress are 0.214 times more likely to get Asthma than people who do not have Asthma. The conclusion obtained is that most children suffering from Bronchial Asthma in the Ambunten Health Center Work Area are exposed to cigarette smoke, weather changes, and experience high levels of stress.

Abstract

The increasing number of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus poses various challenges for the elderly, including the need for self-care. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-care and quality of life among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Saringgi Health Center work area. This study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach and a simple purposive sampling technique. The population consisted of 123 individuals, with a sample size of 67. The instruments used were (SDSCA) to measure self-care and WHOQOL-BREF to assess quality of life. Data were analyzed using the Spearman's Rho test. The results showed that almost all respondents had a moderate level of self-care (83.6%) and good quality of life (86.6%). The Spearman's Rho test showed a result of p = 0.001 (<0.05), which indicated a significant relationship between self-care and quality of life among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Saringgi Health Center area.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyze the management of Health Human Resources (SDMK) at the Bangkalan Community Health Center by identifying POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling). The research method is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. The research was conducted at the Bangkalan Health Center in January-February 2024. The key informants are the head of the community health center and the Head of Administration, the main informants are the Personnel Coordinator and the Management Coordinator and the triangulation informants are the Head of the Human Resources Division and the Head of the HR Section of the Bangkalan District Health Service. Based on the research results, it is known that the inequality of HRK is seen in terms of numbers. Where currently there are more health workers at the Bangkalan Community Health Center than midwives. Meanwhile, the health workers who are lacking are nutritionists. From the results of data analysis, it was found that the HRK qualifications at the Bangkalan Community Health Center did not meet the standard specifications in accordance with Minister of Health Regulation number 43 of 2019 concerning Community Health Centers, namely the lack of one health worker needed to support health services. The implementation of HRK management at the Bangkalan Community Health Center has been going well but is still ongoing. not yet optimal, especially in the areas of equality and qualifications that are not yet appropriate. So it is necessary to re-assess according to the qualifications.

Abstract

Sunscreen was a cosmetic preparation that can physically or chemically reflect or actively absorb sunlight, especially in areas with UV wave emissions so that it can prevent skin disorders due to UV rays. One of the compounds that has the potential to be a sunscreen is astaxanthin because it can protect skin damage due to UV rays exposure by reducing the enzyme thyrosinase so that it has the ability to exert its photoprotective effect by absorbing UV energy. The purpose of study is to determine the physical evaluation of sunscreen gel and SPF value of astaxanthin compounds with different concentrations. The method used in this study was the true experimental method. The sample used was astaxanthin with concentration variations, namely F1 (0.5%), F2 (1%), F3 (2%). The tests was carried out included organoleptics, homogeneity, pH, adhesion, dispersion and SPF value tests using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with a wavelength of 290-320nm. The results of this study showed that the gel preparation had met the physical standard, but the dispersion value at F0 was not in accordance with the standard of a good gel preparation. The highest SPF value of astaxanthin gel preparations, which was at F3 10.8, is in the maximal category. The results of statistical test analysis with one-way anova on the pH test were obtained p=0.000 (p<0.05) and adhesion was obtained p=0.041 (p<0.05), meaning that there was a significant difference in the concentration of astaxanthin sunscreen gel.

Abstract

Prophylactic antibiotics are antimicrobials used to prevent infection. Antibiotics are given 30 to 60 minutes before the skin incision. Incidence of surgical wound infection can be prevented by administering prophylactic antibiotics appropriately. However, in practice there is often a delay in the time of administration. This study aims to determine the relationship of timely administration of preoperative prophylactic antibiotics with the incidence of general surgical wound infections in Pasirian General Hospital. The research design used in this study was analytic observational with a retrospective approach. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data were taken from pre- and post-surgery patients at the Pasirian General Hospital with the instrument used being an observation sheet. The sample studied were 34 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the timeliness of giving prophylactic antibiotics was mostly in the right category for 21 respondents (61.7%) while the occurrence of infection was mostly in the category of no infection for 19 respondents (55.9%). Based on the Chis Quare test, a p value of 0.002 ˂ α (0.05), that there is a relationship between the timeliness of giving preoperative prophylactic antibiotics and the incidence of general surgical wound infections at Pasirian General Hospital. By giving prophylactic antibiotics on time, it is hoped that during the operation, the antibiotics in the target tissue will reach optimal levels to inhibit bacterial growth so that surgical wound infections do not occur.
