Abstract

Libraries can make a voluntary program involving their users. The Friends of the Library Program conducted by the Library and Knowledge Center of Binus University is one example. The program allows members to get involved in the daily operations of the Library and Knowledge Center of Binus University. The program has also attracted the attention of academician and the university leaders of Binus University International. Based on this background, this study is conducted to understand the role of this program in marketing the services of the Library and Knowledge Center of Binus University International. This study is a preliminary research using a qualitative approach with exploratory method. The results reveal that this program plays a pertinent role in marketing the services of the Library and Knowledge Center of Binus University International through the members and alumni of the Friends of the Library program.

Abstract

This article will try to analyze and to evaluate the Online Public Access Catalog that is available in Perpustakaan Umum Daerah Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Cikini. This research uses qualitative approach with the method of descriptive case study. The data collection is accumulated through participative observations, in-depth interview with selected informants, and analysis on supporting documents. The result of this research shows that the Online Public Access Catalog that is owned by Perpustakaan Umum Daerah Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Cikini has several problems. It can be seen from the limited choices of searching mode, the usage of INDOMARC indicator codes in describing information bibliography of collection that often cannot be comprehended by public, the search results from the local library?s collections that are mixed with other library?s collections, to collection?s status and filter system that is not available

Abstract

Kemas ulang informasi merupakan salah satu strategi yang dapat dilakukan perpustakaan untuk mendiseminasikan informasi yang dimiliki. Namun, dalam mendiseminasikan informasi perpustakaan harus memperhatikan Hak atas Kekayaan Intelektual terhadap literatur yang dimiliki. Tulisan ini membahas perlindungan Hak atas Kekayaan Intelektual dalam pembuatan kemasan informasi Paket Diseminasi Informasi Terseleksi (PDIT) PDII-LIPI yang merupakan pengemasan informasi berupa kumpulan artikel terpilih. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengkaji ialah deskriptif-kualitatif. Hasil dalam pengkajian ini ialah PDII-LIPI senantiasa menjunjung tinggi hak cipta dan menghargai karya penulis.?Kata Kunci : diseminasi informasi, kemas ulang informasi, HKI, PDII-LIPI?

Abstract

Personal file record is very important for the students to support the activities. If the personal records can be organized properly, they can fill Sipresma (Sistem Informasi Prestasi Mahasiswa) or student achievement information system easily. The rules also require that students can manage a personal record in the form of a charter, certificate or other reference letter to get diploma supplement or Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah (SKPI). In this study objectives are to determine the management of personal records related to student achievement information system (Sipresma) UI. This research method uses quantitative methods involving 358 respondents of the Vocational Education Program University of Indonesia students. The results obtained showed that the majority of students agreed that the personal file management still not maximal. The conclusion from this study also shows that the students are very aware of the certificate or reference of activity should be stored in a special storage area that's personal record can be well ordered

Abstract

Indonesian Center for Agricultural Library and Technology Dissemination (ICALTD) as a special library of the government institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture has a vision, mission, duty, and special functions to support the activities of its mother-institutions. However, ICALTD has developed its organization by presenting library services for children and young-adult since 2013. The purposes of this research is to describe the conditions, activities, and programs on library services for children and young-adult. This research used qualitative approaches with descriptive methods. The results showed, although ICALTD has already taken a good inovation with its addition of services for children, the services has not been optimal. Some adjustments and policy should be make for the better services in the future.
