Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the nutrient content based on the phenotype of red rice in West Sumatra West Pasaman. The study was conducted in the West Pasaman by doing a survey to determine and collect the red rice in the area. Limited access to isolated areas growing regions in the rice collection was also done by buying rice from the traditional market vendors West Pasaman. Analysis of the nutrient content in the form of protein and amylose conducted in the Laboratory of Chemistry Department of Chemistry, State University of Padang. The results showed that in the West Pasaman found 5 red paddy rice genotypes. Amylose content ranged from 27.16% to 40.13% Island Manggis until at Nabara. Protein content ranged from 5.93% to 8.72 on the genotype Nabara Cimarisik genotype. Based on these results it can be concluded that the Dolok Nabara (8.25%) and Cimarisik (8.72%) developed considering the potential for relatively higher protein content than rice genotypes grown in West Sumatra. In conclusion, the amylose content of the five genotypes were high.Key words:  explorasi, genotip, quality rice, red rice, west pasaman

Abstract

Large earthquakes that occurred in the city of Padang had been expected to lead to changes in the structure of rocks beneath the surface composition including bedrock. Information about the composition of these rocks can be obtained by conducting geological surveys by using geoelectric methods (resistivity). This method is very good to know the condition or subsurface geological structures based on variations in resistivity. Research is inversion modeling. Equation used is forward modeling of resistivity 1-D using Jacobi matrix element finite difference approach. The data used are secondary data obtained from a previous study by the Department of Physics geoelectric exploration team of UNP. Resistivity is determined from an apparent resistivity measurements. Types are resistivity investigation using Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) or depth investigation, with distinction anisotropic cross section in the vertical direction. The data inversion modeling results resistivity 1-D using IPI2WIN software obtained bedrock on the track of FE to FIS at the point of sounding 2/7 at depths >  18.3 m  the resistivity is 1002 Wm, on track of UNP gate to FT at the point of sounding 2/7 at depths >  25.6 m the resistivity is 744   Wm and at the point of sounding 5/7 on the surface to a depth of 3.75 m the resistivity is  778  Wm and on track of Balai Bahasa to Al Azhar mosque at the point of sounding 7/7 at a depth of >  11.4 m the resistivity is 923 Wm. While on the track of FIK to Lab. Biology is not found bedrock. Bedrock types found are suspected Andesite which form the basis for the layer above it as Alluvium and Sands, Sandstones and Clays. Modeling results are not so good, as evidenced by the error (RMS error) more than 5%, which means the calculation data does not approach the observations data. This is due to the amount of noise during measurement that sourced from the equipment used and the environmental conditions such as there are many trees, electrical wires and the route is paved.Key words: resistivity method, modeling, inversion, VES

Abstract

The research objective was to determine arsenic by anodic stripping technique of differential pulse voltammetry to see the effect of the arsenic bismuth films with the potential scan direction opposite to the research that has been done by Nagaosa, et al though there are no reports on the mechanism chemical reaction between arsenic clear with movies bismuth until now. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of bismuth films in the determination of arsenic. In this study, the addition of bismuth ions with a concentration of 200 ppb. Voltammograms can be seen from quite a significant difference between the peak current generated by As (III) films coated with a non-bismuth bismuth films. Visible peak current of As (III) is higher if the addition of bismuth films. This proves the statement Nagaosa, et al who stated that there are mixed effects of bismuth in the determination of As (III) although the mechanism remains unclear.Keyword: film bismuth, arcenic, differential pulse, anodic, stripping voltammetry
