Abstract

The research was aimed to get a product LKS of Biology based on problem solving was valid and practical. The kind of this research was researh of development. This research used 4-D model developing, they were define, design, develop, disseminate. Procedure of research have been done in three phase, they are, face behind, prototype and assessment. Based on the research have done that LKS Biology based on problem solving was valid through validity test in some validator. Result of practicality test through ingquiry very practical, meanwild practicality test have been done through observation and inetrview, modul was said practical after process in descriptive technique. So, quality of develpoment result product was valid and practical based on result of validity test and practicality test have done.Key words : development, LKS, Problem Solving,  biological learning

Abstract

The purpose of this research is find out the applying class management by biology teacher in Junior High School Students 2 Sungayang in creating and keeping learning conditional optimally. The kind of this research was field research. Technique of processing the data was descriptive qualitative, meanwhile technique of  decking of data was truthworthiness data triangulation by using several sourcer such as interview, observation and dokumentation. Based on the research that have done, it is known that biology teacher in SMPN 2 Sungayang have been able in applying class management in creating and keeping condition learning optimally. It can be seen, because the biology teacher have been able to solve plomblems when learning prosess.Key words: class management, biology teacher

Abstract

The learning focus on the teacher that giving effectog low learning out comes is background of research. The putpose of this research to know lerning out comes of physic that applied problem based learning and friends tutor better than use conventional  learning. Kind of this research of the research with desain than randomid control group post test only design. The procedure of the research has three step: preparation, application and evalution. Using instrument of this research is learning aut comes. The data analysis using MINITAB program to complete. Measure normality, homogeneity and hypothesis. The result of sudy that we can get the average rank of experiment class 75.13 eveathough class control 66.19 and varianceexperiment class 35.57 and variance class control 67.16. from this research we get the conclusion using the application problem based lerning and friends tutor better to this differenciate of learning out comes.Key words: problem based learning, friends tutor better and learning out comes

Abstract

This research investigated the quantity of copper (Cu) and Zinc (Zn) in five mini- factories for processing water at Lima Kaum District, Tanah Datar Regency. The method used was atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS). The research findings revealed that the quantity of copper (Cu) fulfilled the criteria regulated by the Regulation of Ministry of Health Affairs No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010. It is not exceed 2 mg/L. Meanwhile, the quantity of  Zinc (Zn) did not fulfill, except one, the Regulation of Ministry of Health Affairs No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010. It is because not exceed than 3 mg/L.        Key words : secondry water, copper (Cu) and Zinc (Zn) atomic absorption spectrophotometry

Abstract

This article aims at understanding free radical and how antioxidant can neutralize it. This reactive and unstable chemistry molecules could destruct cell. Free radical coul be formed automatically by respiration result or generate from external factor like air pollution, cigarette smoke, emition of vehicle or access of UV light. To stop free radical, it must be concerned seriously that the supply of antioxidant in our body is sufficient. Endogenus antioxidant must be added by exogenus antioxidant to make it react with free radical to produce stable molecules.Key words: free radical, antioxidant

Abstract

Formalin is a toxic chemical that is commonly used as a preservative for biological samples and in various industries. But in practice many abused formaldehyde as a preservative foods such as tofu, meatballs, anchovies, etc. wet fish. When food is consumed can cause interference with the metabolism of the body's organs and systems. A research on the investigation of formaldehyde, especially in out circulating in the market Batusanggkar. Examination carried out by using potassium permanganate (KMnO4) and dragon fruit skin by observing the color changes. Examination of formalin in 5 samples showed similar results to know that the 5 samples contain formaldehyde are all positive.Key word: formalin, tahu, KMNO4, Dragon Fruit skin

Abstract

This research aims at studying the effect of temperature and calcination duration on characteristic of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC). Limestone was converted in to PCC by using recarbonation method through calcinations, hydration and carbonation processes. Spesifically, calcination temperature had something to do with duration of lime stone to drive off CO2. Based on the analysis of physical properties, the size of particle PCC resulted on temperature 1100 0C with the surface area 30,96 ?m2/g was smaller than one on 800 0C, 900 0C, 1000 0C And the percentage of its optical properties namely brithness was 94,9% and whiteness was 91,1 %. The XRF analysis showed that PCC had high purity level with CaO content 56 %. Then the XRD analysis showed that the PCC crystal was in the form of calcite.Key words: temperature, calcination precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC)

Abstract

The purpose of  research is determine of molecule of Fe2+ from well and PDAM. This research used two sample, they are from well and PDAM. This research used spectrophotomery using 1.10 phenantroline solution. Phenantroline would change all ferrous ion to Fe2+ dissoluable. Three molecules of phenantroline joint with one molecule of Fe2+  form orange-red complex ion. Reffering to Standarization from Healthy Minister of Republic Indonesia No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010, the allowable maximum ferrum concentration in the drinking water is 0,3 ppm. The experiment showed that the ferrum concentration of well were 0,08 and 0,054 g/mL and the ferrum concentration of PDAM were 0,636 mg/L, 2,004 mg/L, 1,939 mg/L, 0,226 mg/L, 0,627 mg/L and 1,003 mg/L.Key words: drinking water,  molecule of Fe2+, spectrophotomery

Abstract

Research has been conducted to analyze the conten of the heavy metal content of lead (Pb) in red pepper (Capsicum Annuum L) circulating in Batusangkar market. Samples of five red peppers  were  taken from different places in Batusangkar market. The sample was dissolved by using a mixture of sulfuric acid and nitric acid. Furthermore, lead was measured by using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SSA) at a wavelength of 283.3 nm. The results of the analysis showed that  the lowest lead level of 0.2386 mg / kg and the highest lead level of 0.73642 mg / kg. From  the five samples, it was found that there was one sample whose lead level exceeded the maximum limit set by National Standardization Council of 2009 about maximum limit of heavy metal contamination in food that is 0,5 mg / kg for lead, whereas for 4 other sample the value of lead level is less from 0.5 mg / kg. In addition, from the five samples, one sample did not meet the safe criteria and the other four samples meet the criteria.

Abstract

This research is based on the lack of availibity of student worksheets that use learning models, so that impact on the lack of activeness and understanding of student’s concepts. The purpose of this research is to produce a student worksheet based on POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) on the reaction rate material that is valid and practical. This study uses research and development research metods with development model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). This research was only carried out until development stage. The define stage is carried out to get an overview of the conditions in the field. After getting the conditions in the field, the next step is to design a student worksheet based on POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) on the rate material. After the process of designing the POE based student worksheet has been completed, it this continued white the validity and practicality test that exist at the develop stage. The result of this study indicate that: 1) student worksheet based on POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) have met the valid with 93,14% validation results,2) student worksheets based on POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) has met the very practical   criteria with 91,05% response questionnaire result. The results of this study indicate that the chemical worksheets developed can be used as learning resource for student.
