Abstract

This scientific paper discusses one of the development of library collection policy is the procurement of library materials at the Academy of Health Library Asih Husada Semarang. The purpose of this paper is to understand the procurement policy process of library materials at the Academy of Health Library Asih Husada Semarang. The method of procuring library materials at the Academy of Health Library Asih Husada Semarang done through purchases and donations. This paper uses interviews with thelibrary director and field visits directly. The results of the paper indicate that the policy of procurement of library materials has been replicated by the Academy of Health Library of Asih Husada Semarang has been written, but not yet officially formulated, therefore after the procurement process of library materials is completed, evaluated once every year at the end of December through the Foundation Annual Work Meeting.Keywords : collection development, library material procurement policy, procurement method of library materials

Abstract

Libraries as nonprofit institutions are required to continue to develop their serviceseven though sometimes they have to face very limited budget conditions. The existingfacilities and opportunities must be optimized so that the library program continues andreaches as many users as possible. Information technology and telecommunicationsare both opportunities and challenges for librarians in order to enforce the existenceof libraries amid the shifting patterns and lifestyles of librarians in addition to thelimitations possessed by libraries. This paper describes how library efforts utilize thetrend of virtual communication to communicate creatively library policies throughsocial media.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the preservation of literature in the St. Ignatius College Library. The method of data collection is through interviews and observation. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that in applying the collection preservation process, there were a number of things that were done by the St. Ignatius College Library, namely; 1) Preservation: Use of catalog cards and control cards; closed service; and allocation of funds of 10 to 20 percent; 2) Conservation: setting room temperature (26 degrees Celsius); room humidity up to 62 Hg; carry out fumigation and administration of borax regularly; and clean the book with a special small broom; 3) Restoration: Repair of damaged books is carried out by circulation officers so that repairs to one book can take a long time.

Abstract

The learning needs of library management personnel at UPT Library of Jember University is a description of the level of concern and responsibility that become indicators of professionalism in work. Readers need a fast and accurate information service with respect to course materials, research, publications, journals, and more. Library as well as a container of various disciplines that also support science or as a means of educating the life of the nation especially in the field of education. It takes a study that can describe the level of learning needs of library managers. This study aims to identify the learning needs of library management personnel at UPT Library of Jember University.The research method uses descriptive design because it wants to describe the level of learning needs of the library management personnel. The population in this research is the entire library management staff at UPT Jember University Library obtained by total sampling or census technique. Using a closed questionnaire research instrument of 20 questions that describe the needs of the information of the reader.The result of the research has been done, it is known that the learning needs of library management staff in UPT Library of Jember University are in the category of Specialties, Very Good and Good as many as 30 personnels (69,76%). Learning Needs Good Enough, Enough, Less and Very Less as many as 13 personnels (30.24%). The maximal, minimum, median, mode, mean and standard deviation values are as follows: 95, 45, 50, 80, 74.77 and 13.68Motivation and guidance to improve the learning needs of library management personnel need to be done with various learning strategies, especially on the learning needs group Good Enough, Enough, Less and Very Less.

Abstract

Studi penelitian ini adalah untuk penelitian dan analisis konsep diri relawan perpustakaan desa dari Balecatur. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu perpustakaan desa di Yogyakarta menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini adalah konsep-diri sukarela yang dikembangkan dan dikembangkan melalui dorongan dalam diri mereka sendiri dan lingkungan eksternal mereka. Relawan membuat konsep disi sebagai (1) relawan sebagai agen perubahan, (2) relawan sebagai individu yang ingin berbagi, (3) relawan sebagai penyembah pendidikan tingkat. Hal ini disebabkan oleh faktor pribadi yang menjadi alasan mengapa para ibu (sukarelawan) ini ingin menjadi sukarelawan Sementara mereka tahu apa yang mereka menjadi korban, baik dari segi waktu,

Abstract

Information Technology makes things easier, the existence of a library in an institution of higher education is very important needed by all academicians, to realize a digital library and library services that are ideal for users is not an easy job. The Brawijaya University library has implemented a book lending independent service and book extensions for its visitors, so that users can feel comfortable and satisfied when utilizing the services available in the library. The independent service system in UB's Library as a form of transformation of the university library in improving the ideal service for visitors.The purpose of this study was to determine the usability analysis of independent service information systems in the Brawijaya University Library. This research is a quantitative descriptive study, using the theory of usability to determine the evaluation of self-service systems, the method used is a survey with a sample of 100 students. Hypothesis testing and data processing in this study using Partial LeastSquares(PLS).The results of this study indicate that there are 4 hypotheses that have been empirically proven to affect the usability of independent services in the Brawijaya University Library, namely the variables of Learnability, Efficiency, Memorability, Satisfaction (user satisfaction). 1 hypothesis is empirically proven to have no effect, namely the Few error variable (some errors), so that the UB library should innovate to improve services to users by submitting a mobile android based book loan application design. The intended application is intended so that the library user can borrow books independently only with the smartphone the user has.

Abstract

Basically, library can provide fully information, and rather quickly in accordance with the needs of users. This research the optimization of the library information system through using the existed features, and hopefully, it can increase the service for the users. This research is using the qualitative approach method, and this is also field research. Based on the analysis of the results using the SDLC method, SIPRUS (Library Information System) is the library database collection of the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga. This system uses MYSQL which means Open Resource-Based. SIPRUS has the same task to collect, process, conserve, refind the information, borrow and restore the book to the circulation section, and statistical functions to know the user's data, the library uses information technology to collect data as the library collection. In accordance with this analysis of the results, it can be said that OPAC is very helpful for users in searching for efficient and effective information.

Abstract

Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi sebagai salah satu unit yang melaksanakan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi seperti memilih, mengolah, menghimpun, melayangkan sumber informasi ke sivitas akademika. Layanan perpustakaan meliputi layanan sirkulasi, layanan referensi, layanan bimbingan pengguna,dan literasi informasi. Kompetensi yang dimiliki pustakawan akan berdampak pada kualitas layanan perpustakaan. Pustakawan dapat belajar secara terus-menerus untuk meningkatkan kompetensi. Adapun tujuan dari tulisan ini adalah 1).dapat mengetahui kelebihan dan kekurangan layanan perpustakaan yang telah diberikan kepada pemustaka, 2) Kompetensi apa saja yang dibutuhkan pustakawan dalam melaksanakan kegiatan layanan perpustakaan yang unggui dan prima, 3). Permasalahan yang dihadapi pustakawan dalam melaksanakan layanan perpustakaan. Adapun hasil dari tulisan ini adalah 1). Pustakawan harus meningkatkan kompetensinya, 2). Perpustakaan dapat membuat evaluasi diri untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan, 3). Perpustakaan menyediakan kotak kritik dan saran, 4). Pustakawan ditugaskan sesuia dengan kompetensi yang dimiliki.

Abstract

Dalam suatu intitusi pendidikan baik dari sekolah dasar sampai dengan tingkat universitas erat kaitannya dengan fasilitas perpustakaan. Perpustakaan Institut Pemerintah Dalam Negeri di Jatinangor merupakan fasilitas pelayanan informasi ilmu pengetahuan sebagai penunjang proses belajar mengajar di lingkungan kampus. Dengan adanya keluhan yang disampaikan oleh praja selaku pemustaka, dibutuhkan strategi oleh seluruh jajaran pengelolaan perpustakaan agar pemanfaatan perpustakaan Institut Pemerintah Dalam Negeri di Jatinangor. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan yang pada akhirnya membuat perencanaan perpustakaan agar dapat meningkatkan jasa layanan informasi hingga ke masyarakat. Faktor yang dapat dilakukan dalam upaya meningkatkan jasa layanan informasi perpustakaan Institut Pemerintah Dalam Negeri di Jatinangor adalah ketersediaan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas, keanekaragaman penyediaan fasilitas yang menjadi ketertarikan tersendiri, metode pelayanan yang optimal baik secara langsung dan tidak langsung dan waktu penyelenggaraan yang menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pemustaka.In an educational institution both from elementary school to university level is closely related to library facilities. The Domestic Government Institute Library in Jatinangor is a science information service facility to support teaching and learning in the campus environment. With the complaints filed by the praja as users, a strategy is needed by all levels of library management in order to utilize the library of the Domestic Government Institute in Jatinangor. The method used in this research is an action research method that ultimately makes library planning in order to improve information services to the public. The factors that can be done in an effort to improve library information services at the Domestic Government Institute in Jatinangor are the availability of quality human resources, diversity in the provision of facilities of particular interest, optimal service methods both directly and indirectly and the time of implementation that adjusts to the needs user.

Abstract

Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA), memicu persaingan ketat terhadap tenaga kerja. Untuk itu diperlukan kualitas SDM, termasuk pustakawan yang kompeten yang dapat memberikan kualitas layanan yang memuaskan.. Kondisi lapangan menunjukkan ketidakpuasan pengunjung pada layanan Perpustakaan UNEJ. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh kompetensi pustakawan terhadap kualitas layanan. Penelitian menggunakan metode sampling  kuota, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif pada 11.528 populasi pengunjung perpustakaan bulan Januari-Pebruari 2019 dan  sampel berjumlah 100 responden. Dengan analisis menggunakan software SmartPLS 2 (Partial Least Square)  diketahui bahwa Kompetensi Pustakawan berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap Kualitas Layanan dengan peresentase 83,1%. Nilai terbesar ditunjukkan pada indikator pengetahuan, yaitu Pustakawan memahami tentang pelayanan (X1.1 ) dengan persentase 76%. Sedangkan, variabel Kompetensi Pustakawan (X)  yang berpengaruh secara tidak langsung terhadap kualitas layanan adalah pada indikator Pustakawan Menyenangkan dalam Melayani (X2.1)  sejumlah 92,12%.Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA), memicu persaingan ketat terhadap tenaga kerja.
