Abstract

This paper discusses the role of religious communities in Indonesia in optimizing social media,specifically the use of digital public spaces to campaign for universal good. It is hoped that, as weapproach the Golden Indonesia 2045, religious communities in Indonesia can become thebuilding blocks of a noble foundation for reason. Today's society is already so familiar withinternet-based social media and its various platforms. All religions in Indonesia—Islam;Christianity; Catholicism; Buddhism; Hinduism; Confucianism; and other faiths—share acommon human spirit. The massive dissemination of moral, legal, and religious messages, carriedout in a unified manner across each social media channel, can act as a barrier to negativecontent, hoaxes, and hate speech, whether acknowledged or not, that has recently floodedIndonesia's digital world. The theoretical analysis is conducted using several theories andconcepts, namely, Gary R. Bunt's cyber-Islamic environments; Michel Foucault's discourse andideology; Jürgen Habermas's public sphere; and Manuel Castells's network society. This studydemonstrates the urgency of utilizing social media within religious communities to contribute topreparing the best generation and a society that is optimistic about responding to the challengesof the times. The crucial role of religious communities needs to be optimally utilized through theimplementation of concrete programs to welcome Indonesia Emas 2045.

Abstract

Generasi Z, yang lahir dan tumbuh dalam lingkungan digital yang serba terhubung, menghadirkan tantangan dan peluang unik bagi dunia dakwah. Kelompok demografi ini memiliki karakteristik kognitif, sosial, dan spiritual yang berbeda dari generasi sebelumnya, sehingga pendekatan dakwah konvensional seringkali kurang efektif. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan merumuskan strategi dakwah yang relevan bagi Generasi Z dengan memanfaatkan kerangka era IAI—Inovasi, Kecerdasan Buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI), dan Internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka (library research) untuk mensintesis temuan dari berbagai literatur terkait media digital, psikologi generasi Z, dan komunikasi dakwah. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi IAI ke dalam strategi dakwah dapat dilakukan melalui beberapa pendekatan utama: (1) Inovasi dalam konten dan platform, seperti penggunaan media sosial interaktif (TikTok, Instagram Reels, Podcast) dan gamifikasi nilai-nilai Islam; (2) Artificial Intelligence untuk personalisasi pengalaman keberagamaan, seperti chatbot penasihat agama, sistem rekomendasi konten Islami, dan analisis data untuk pemetaan kebutuhan spiritual; serta (3) Internet sebagai ruang dakwah yang inklusif dan kolaboratif, memfasilitasi komunitas virtual dan pembelajaran online. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan dakwah di era IAI harus bersifat dialogis, visual, on-demand, dan terpersonalisasi, dengan tetap berpegang pada prinsip-prinsip akidah yang sahih. Sebuah model strategi integratif diajukan untuk membantu para dai dan lembaga dakwah dalam menjangkau dan menginspirasi Generasi Z.

Abstract

This study examines how Muhammadiyah, one of Indonesia’s largest Islamic organizations, utilizes its official website as a medium of digital da’wah and educational communication, with a particular focus on the portrayal of teachers as moral and intellectual agents. Using a qualitative content analysis of selected articles published on muhammadiyah.or.id, the research explores how religious narratives are integrated into discourses of pedagogy, professionalism, and moral ethics. Drawing upon Gary R. Bunt’s theory of the Cyber Islamic Environment (CIE) and Everett Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovation, the study situates Muhammadiyah’s online activities within the broader framework of technological mediation and religious reform (tajdid). Findings reveal that the website functions not only as an informational platform but also as a transformative arena of moral communication, where teachers are depicted as digital missionaries embodying Islamic values through educational praxis. The research underscores that Muhammadiyah’s digital da’wah represents a shift from one-way religious dissemination to participatory moral education, fostering the emergence of ethical digital citizenship in contemporary Islamic education.
