Abstract

The service sector, especially hospitality, faces sustainability challenges from regulations and consumer demands. GHRM is a key strategy to promote green behavior and sustainable performance. This study examines Harmonious Environmental Passion (HEP) as a mediator between GHRM and Green Self-Efficacy (GSE), with Green Values (GV) as a moderator. A quantitative survey of 280 employees from four and five-star hotels in Batam was analyzed using PLS-SEM via Smart PLS 4, including validity, reliability, path coefficients, and indirect effects tests. Results show GHRM significantly affects GSE and HEP. HEP mediates the GHRM-GSE relationship, and GV strengthens it. The study highlights the emotional role of HEP in GHRM effectiveness in hospitality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality on student satisfaction and its impact on the brand image of private universities in North Sumatra, with word of mouth (WOM) as a mediating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of active students from several private universities. The results of the analysis show that service quality has a significant effect on student satisfaction; satisfaction affects brand image; and WOM affects brand image. In addition, WOM has been shown to mediate the effect of satisfaction on brand image. This finding confirms that student satisfaction directly impacts brand image and WOM, an influential informal communication channel. This research provides theoretical contributions to the development of consumer behaviour models in the higher education sector and practical implications for higher education management to improve services and strengthen the institution's image.

Abstract

The construction services sector plays a crucial role in boosting Indonesia's economic growth. The object of this study is a construction services company operating in Java, which currently has approximately 200 employees spread across various projects and locations. This study examines the factors influencing employee performance, including organizational citizenship behavior, competitive intensity, and organizational slack, each mediated by innovation, particularly those related to employee performance in construction services companies. The results of this study indicate that all hypotheses have a positive and significant influence, except for the fifth hypothesis, which is rejected because there is no significant influence between the level of competitive intensity and employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of workload on burnout, with job stress and work-life balance as mediating variables. The data consisted of 235 employees, whose information was obtained through an online questionnaire that distributed to civil servants at BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik) throughout Bengkulu province. The collected data was then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS software. This study show that workload does not directly lead to burnout but exerts its influence indirectly by significantly increasing job stress and reducing work–life balance. Job stress fully mediates the relationship between workload and burnout, whereas work–life balance neither predicts burnout nor functions as a mediating mechanism. Overall, burnout among civil servants is driven more by psychological strain than by workload intensity alone, reinforcing the explanatory power of the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) Model framework in the public sector context.

Abstract

Southeast Asia’s booming e-commerce industry underscores consumer loyalty as a strategic asset. Leading Indonesian platforms employ algorithmic personalization to tailor recommendations and interfaces, yet the role of trust in converting personalization into loyalty remains underexplored. Drawing on Social Exchange Theory and the Stimulus-Organism-Response framework, this study examines how personalization influences trust, engagement, satisfaction, and loyalty among Indonesian online shoppers. Data from an online survey of experienced users reveals that personalization enhances engagement and satisfaction, while engagement and trust drive loyalty. Satisfaction alone does not ensure loyalty, but trust fully mediates the personalization–loyalty relationship. The findings highlight trust as the crucial mechanism transforming personalized interventions into sustained loyalty. E-commerce firms should refine personalization algorithms and adopt transparent data practices to foster trust and lasting customer commitment.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of belief and boundary control systems, two dimensions of Simons’ levers of control, on employee and banking performance in a regional development bank. Data were collected from 60 employees of Bank Pembangunan Daerah (BPD) Jambi and analyzed using SEM–PLS. The findings indicate that belief controls enhance employee performance but have no direct effect on banking performance. Conversely, boundary controls improve banking performance without significantly influencing employee performance. Employee performance positively affects banking performance, suggesting a mediating mechanism. This study extends the management control literature by demonstrating the complementary roles of belief and boundary controls beyond the dominant focus on diagnostic and interactive systems. The results highlight the importance of balancing motivational and compliance-based controls to strengthen both individual and organizational performance in emerging economy banking institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of business performance in the culinary SME sector by developing an integrated capability chain model. The research addresses the challenge of enhancing performance through the interplay of entrepreneurship, human resource quality, networking capability, and management accounting systems, while evaluating sustainability reporting as a potential moderator. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were gathered from 94 culinary SMEs in the Greater Jakarta area via convenience sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS). Findings reveal a significant sequential pathway where entrepreneurship bolsters HR quality, subsequently driving networking capability and the adoption of management accounting systems to enhance performance. Conversely, sustainability reporting directly impacts performance but not able to moderates the accounting-performance link, suggesting that internal capability development, rather than formal reporting, remains the primary driver of SME success.
