Al Mishbah Jurnal Ilmu Dakwah dan Komunikasi is an academic peer-reviewed journal that publishes the latest issues in the field of dawah and communication, including areas of dawah discourse, such as Islamic counseling and the development of Islamic societies. Since 2012, the journal has been published regularly twice in one year June and December. The primary audience of Al Mishbah Jurnal Ilmu Dakwah dan Komunikasi is academics, students, practitioners, and those who have an interest in the field of dawah and communication.

<![CDATA[The aims of the study were to reveal the cause of personality development on children’s characters and to elaborate the exertion in eradicating poverty reflects from the novel Lord of the Flies. This study employed descriptive qualitative study with psychoanalytical approach initiated by Sigmund Freud focused on literature as the reflection of real life. The primary data in this study were collected from the novel “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding (1954). The secondary data were taken from the library, internet, and journals, theses, and articles. The research result indicates that the personalities of the children are developed based on the anxiety and defense mechanism as part of psychoanalysis. Other finding is about the reflection of poverty eradication shows in the story. The children’s efforts in getting rescued and hunting could be the reflection of escape from poverty.]]>

<![CDATA[Globalization flow getting stronger forces each individual to adjust to social life, especially in urban areas. In general, urban communities have begun to classify themselves into communities, both cultural and structural, both small and large communities. One of the communities that was born was a marginal community. This community has a very unique character and orientation and is rarely touched by preaching. Starting from here, this research aims to formulate Islamic preaching method that is suitable for the marginalized communities in Indonesian society. The research method used is qualitative research. In fact, qualitative research does not have a standard measure, the framework that is built can still be reconstructed and adapted to the objective conditions in the field. The approach used is phenomenology. This approach allows researchers to describe experiences as best as possible, understand and apply fairly to phenomena as they appear and are felt by experiences. The conclusion of this research is that the Islamic preaching method that is considered suitable for marginalized communities is da'wah bil hal, study centers, open houses, mentoring and advocacy, economic empowerment, educational scholarships, distribution of Zakat Infaq Sodaqoh (ZIS), library parks, health packages, compensation social and educational skills work.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to provide an educational tool by presenting the problem of handling Covid-19 in Indonesia as well as efforts to unite the community through the reconstruction of social communication to minimize conflicts during the pandemic. The subject of this research includes the realization of the prevention of Covid-19 in Indonesia, social problems in the pandemic era, and reconstruction of social communication as an effort to prevent viruses in society. The research method used is a comparative study learning experience as a medium for data analysis with literature review. The results of this study concluded that efforts to deal with covid-19 in Indonesia were a strategic step but not yet massive so that the number of covid-19 transmissions has increased significantly. Among the causes; weak regulatory discipline, covid-19 information is ambiguous and there is a prejudice oriented towards economic and political interests. These problems can be prevented by reconstructing social communication with structural, cultural, and dialogue approaches.]]>

<![CDATA[This article discusses the essence of the meaning of jihad and its actualization in modern life. Basically, jihad has two meanings; First, jihad with the meaning of Islamic da'wah in a manner that is polite, tolerant, peaceful, and far from coercion and violence. Second, jihad with the meaning of war. Jihad in the first sense must be applied anytime and anywhere, while jihad in the second sense can only be applied under conditions of extreme compulsion due to a certain threat from the enemy. The main purpose of jihad is al-amr bi al-ma ' ruf wa al-nahy an al-munkar. For that, when put in the context of today's modern life, then jihad could be interpreted in the sense of a more macro and holistic, so that all forms of al-amr bi al-ma ' ruf wa al-nahy an al-munkar as an effort to increase the level of education community Islam, an effort to improve the welfare of Muslims, both economically, politically and culturally. All of them fall into the category of jihad in Islam, and are more important than physical jihad with war, because for the current context that is what Muslims need.]]>

<![CDATA[This study focuses on the audience analysis of the panai money tradition 'in the Uang Panai' film. This film is a local film from Makassar in 2016. This study uses a reception analysis method for the audience and uses a qualitative approach. The data source in this study is a data source consisting of two types of data sources, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from in-depth interviews and FGD (Focus Group discussion), while secondary data were obtained from various literature related to this research. This study makes the film the object of analysis and the audience as the subject of analysis. The findings of this study found the diversity of meanings of the audience about the tradition of panai money "after watching the film Uang Panai which was motivated by the socio-cultural experience, economic status, and gender of the film Uang Panai audience ".]]>

<![CDATA[Burdah is a poetry that has been phenomenal, especially in Indonesia. These poems by Imam al-Bushiri have been composed into various songs accompanied by musical accompaniment. The beautiful chanting of Burdah syair is used as a form of preaching in various assemblies, especially in the Majelis Sholawat Wat Ta’lim Sholawat Burdah Ponorogo City. This study aims to describe and observe the da'wah methods implemented in the Majelis Sholawat Wat Ta'lim Sholawat Burdah. This research approach uses qualitative descriptive. The results showed that from various series of activities the implications of the da'wah method included the bil-hikmah and mauidzatil hasanah methods. Apart from that, the Burdah sholawatan syair was chosen to support its attractiveness and adjust the trends or fashions in the current era, especially the majority of young people so that the enthusiasm of the congregation will increase.]]>

<![CDATA[The traditional house of Folajiko Sarabi is closely related to the Tidore Sultanate, which is the Islamic Kingdom, which is one proof of Islamic civilization in the past, and its existence still exists today. The results of this study indicate that the architectural construction of thetraditional house is folajiko sarabi divided into three parts, namely (1) the construction of the top, likened to the human head which is the highest and most important part of its role in the structure of the human body. the shape of the roof of the traditional house of Folajiku Sarabi is triangular in shape like the hat of Sultan Tidore which is known as besu. (2) The construction of the middle is likened to the human body. In this part of the body there is a Jaro, which is a whole bamboo pole that is attached by means of the base of the bamboo at the bottom and the tip is above, which means a living creature created by Allah that grows alive on the ground. (3) The construction of the lower part is likened to a human leg that must be able to support it in any condition. In this section, there is a hang, which means a large bamboo base or foundation on which thesupported jaro is. In this part of the foot, there is a hale or land as a floor, land also means prosperity, because most living things depend on crops or land as a source of livelihood.]]>

<![CDATA[Students of Islamic institutions are required to be able to meet community expectations in the form of mastering the competence of reading and writing the koran, leading religious events and delivering da'wah to Muslims. IAIN Ternate with the Ma'had Al-Jami'ah unit in it, is demanded to be able to make efforts to guide it. This study is expected to reveal whether Ma'had IAIN Ternate conducts da'wah guidance, and what kind of guidance is carried out. This study is a field research, with a qualitative type. Sources of data obtained through observation and stakeholder interviews. Data analysis was carried out by the stages of data reduction, data presentation and data verification. In fact, Ma'had Al-Jami'ah IAIN Ternate has carried out comprehensive dakwah guidance, starting from weighting material and improving ethics through ta'lim ma'hadi activities, then equipping mahasantri with material mastery and making dakwah media, as well as doing direct practice and testing the ability of da'wah through performances at the Muhadharoh Usbu'iyah activity which was then closed with the climax event of competing the preaching skills of Mahasantri in Muhadharoh Kubra activities.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper discusses students’ perception on hoax postings on son social media sites. The focus of the study is to find out how students' of IAIN Palu perceive hoax dissemination on social media. This research is a qualitative study. In collecting data researchers used in-depth interview methods, observations, and documents. The subjects of this study are students majoring in Islamic Communication and Broadcasting starting from second semester two to the eight semester. The results of this study indicate that students have different perceptions on hoax dissemination, where some students realize that it is important to read, and examine carefully information or news received from social media sites, so that they can find out about the authenticity of the news or information, and it is not wise to share news that is not yet known to be true, and there are also some students who are actually involved in spreading hoaks due to trial and error.]]>
