Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to know the effectivity of snakehead (Channa micropeltes) gel extract on the burns healing ofrat (Mus musculus). It was carried out for 4 months, September 2018 to January 2019. The study employed anexperimental method of Complete Randomized Design with 4 treatmnets and 3 replications. Treatment A was control,B used 1.5% gel extract of C. micropeltes, C used 3 %, and D used 4.5%, respectively. Results revealed that in day4, 8 and 12 the administration of gel extract of C. micropeltes gave significant effect on the burns healing of rat (Musmusculus) (Fcalc.> Ftab., 0.05).Keywords : gel extract, Channa micropeltes, rat Mus musculus, burns healing.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of various types of drinking water on growingperformance of quail. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5replications. Each replication consisted of 3 quails. The treatments were P1 (groundwater), P2 (Water produceby the regional drinking water company), P3 (Local commercial drinking water), and P4 (Branded commercialdrinking water). The observed variables were water intake, feed intake, body weight gain, final body weight andfeed convertion ratio of quails. Data were analyzed with analysis of variance. The study showed various type ofdrinking water did not significantly affect on growing performance of quails on 21-56 age in all variables(P>0.05). It was concluded that the different types of drinking water did not have potential to affect on growingperformance of quails.Key words :growing performance, various types of drinking water, quail

Abstract

One of the ways to support zero waste policies in the timber industry was used the industry wastemaximally. Sawdust is probable materials to produce wood pellet. This research aims to identify the quality ofwood pellet of Bangkirai, Sungkai, and red Meranti. Tapioca flour will be used as an adhesive material. Secondly,to identify the feasibility of those three types of timber as wood pellet, that can be used either as domesticconsumption or export. Research used complete-random design with timber as the factor. The result shows thatwood pellet yielded from Sungkai has better quality than wood pellet produced from the other two timber types.The difference in type of wood is only the density value shows very significant effect. Overall, the research resulthas qualified for SNI standard (8201-2014) and France standard (ITEBE). However, only several parts ofparameters from three types of timber that conform with Sweden standard (SS187120). Those three types oftimber are feasibly usable and prospective to be developed as wood pellet material. But, intensive handling of thepellet's water content and testing of mechanical properties and durability were needed.Keywords: wood pellet, sawdust, standard quality, prospective.

Abstract

Kota Palangka Raya dengan luas 2,687 Km2, dengan Angkatan Kerja Tahun 2015 didominasi olehtamatan SMA sebesar 27,7% dan tamatan Universitas sebesar 27,2%. Status pengangguran paling banyakdisandang oleh lulusan SMA sebesar 2%, diikuti tamatan SMK sebesar 1,4% kemudian lulusan Perguruan Tinggisebesar 1% dari seluruh angkatan kerja tahun 2015, sejalan dengan Visi Misi yang tertuang dalam RPJMD yakni :“Terwujudnya Kota Palangka Raya yang Maju, Rukun, dan Sejahtera Untuk Semua dan mewujudkankesejahteraan masyarakat kota Palangka Raya smart economy (ekonomi cerdas) meliputi pengembanganindustri, usaha kecil dan menengah, pariwisata, dan perbankan”. Produk andalan kota Palangka Raya adalahkerajinan rotan, kayu, batik dan getah nyatu yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan, terutama untukmenunjang industri pariwisata daerah yang saling bersinergis terutama untuk mengembangkan usaha kecildengan melibatkan kelompok-kelompok UMKM yang sudah ada. Suku dayak sebagai penduduk asli kaltengbanyak bermukim di sepanjang daerah aliran sungai dan menggantungkan hidupnya dari kekayaan alamsekitarnya, hasil ineraksi dengan alam melahirkan aneka kebudayaan yang mencerminkan kearifan local. MitraPKW ini adalah kelompok UKT – Bahalap yang merupakan bagian dari UKM Universtas Palangka Raya, yangbelum mengenal dan mengetahui tentang pengolahan getah nyatu menjadi souvenir yang mempunyai nilai jual.Mitra yang kedua adalah Kelompokj perajin getah nyatu Pandji sebagai penyedia bahan baku dan sebagainarasumber. Hasil kegiatan PKW tentang pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan souvenis khas dayak bahanbaku getah nyatu yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 14 – 15 September 2019 di UKT –Bahalap UniversitasPalangka Raya seperti gantungan kunci, Mandau, patung dayak, burung enggang, talawang, tempat pulpen,perahu, batang garing dan sapundu (produk luaran)Kata Kunci : Getah Nyatu, Pelatihan, Souvenir Khas Dayak.

Abstract

The Core-Plasma partnership model is one of the patterns of community plantation development thathas been developed by the government since the 1990s by utilizing the Credit scheme for PrimaryCooperatives for Members (KKPA). This research was conducted at the Krida Sejahtera Village UnitCooperative in Lampung Province as a representation of plasma farmers in the implementation of a coreplasma partnership with PT. Sumber Indah Perkasa (SIP) as a core company. The objectives of this study are:(1) Knowing the description of the Krida Sejahtera Village Unit Cooperative in relation to the implementation ofthe nucleus-plasma partnership model of smallholder oil palm plantations in its working area, (2) Analyzing thefinancial condition of plasma plantation management by the nucleus company as a manager, (3 ) Analyzingthe socio-economic impacts of developing smallholder oil palm plantations through this partnership model.Research methods through data collection in the field through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), in-depthinterviews, and secondary data collection. The results showed: (1) Krida Sejahtera Village Unit Cooperative,which was established since 1994, has developed well, as seen from the value of assets owned in 2015amounting to Rp 117,149,211,636.00 with the number of Village Unit Cooperatives members totaling 17,255people spread over 8 districts; (2) With the application of good agricultural practices and good managementpractices the productivity of plasma plantations with plant ages ranging from 16-21 years to reach 24.85 tonsof FFB / ha / year, exceeds the theoretical potential of 22 tons. The average farmer's income reaches Rp.19,792,455 / ha / year; (3) The development of community oil palm plantations through the nucleus-plasmapartnership pattern at the research location has been shown to have a positive impact on the householdwelfare of plasma farmers.Keywords: Partnership Model, Village Unit Cooperative

Abstract

Raya City about making good quality and inexpensive baglog (planting media) for oyster mushroomcultivation, the team sought help by bringing in one of the Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Producers that can beused Optimal named Mr. Budi who has a scale of oyster mushroom cultivation business located at Jl. MurjaniGang Suka Damai, Palangka Raya City. He and the research team will provide training on oyster mushroomcultivation to residents of RT.001 / RW.011 Langkai Village, Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City. Thesolution offered is assistance for residents of RT.001 / RW 011 is to provide insight and knowledge on theimportance of making the correct mushroom growing media (baglog) in order to produce oyster mushroomswith optimal results so that it does not experience failure, namely providing training on oyster mushroomcultivation with resource persons an oyster mushroom cultivator who works in the city of Palangka Rayanamed Mr. Budi. Abstract

Chili is one of the leading commodities of vegetables which has strategic value at national and regional levels.An unexpected increase in chili prices often results a surge of inflation and economic turmoil. Study and modeling ofchili production are needed as a planning and evaluation material for policy makers. One of the most frequently usedmethods in modeling and forecasting time series data is Autoregressive Integrated Moving Avarage (ARIMA). Theresults of ARIMA modeling on chili production data found that the data were unstationer conditions of the mean sothat must differenced while the data on the production of small chilli carried out the stages of data transformation anddifferencing due to the unstationer of data on variants and the mean. The best ARIMA model that can be appliedbased on the smallest AIC and MSE criteria for data on the amount of chili and small chilli production in CentralKalimantan Province is ARIMA (3,1,0).Keywords: modeling of chilli, forecasting of chilli, Autoregresive Integrated Moving Avarage, ARIMA, Box-Jenkins.

Abstract

Rewetting program especially canal blocking (tabat) carried out by the Peat Restoration Agency (BRG) in 2017 aspart of efforts to control forest and land fires that often hit peatlands including in Kalawa Village in 2014 and 2015. Theresults of this study indicate that 7 indicators from 3 research variables for the level of land owners participation in thegroup receiving the rewetting program shows 14.28% has very strong/very high correlation (design making/constructionmodel), 42.86% has strong/high correlation (frequency of socialization, numbers of attendance, socialization method),42.86% has strong enough/high enough correlation (distance of land, placement of position/location, numbers of canalblocking). Whereas for 9 indicators from 4 research variables, the level of land owners participation in the group rejectingthe rewetting program shows 22.22% has strong/high correlation (age, land area), and 77.78% has quite strong/highenough correlation (level of education, distance of land, frequency of socialization, number of attendance, method ofsocialization, construction design/modeling, placement of position/location of canal blocking). The level of land ownersparticipation in the BRG rewetting program through canal blocking (tabat) was dominated by the medium category(36.0%) for the group receiving the program and the low category (48.0%) for the group rejecting the program. Therelatively similar characteristics of the two community groups and have a major influence on the level of land ownersparticipation are socialization efforts (frequency of socialization, numbers of attendance, socialization method), andproject implementation (design making/construction model, placement of positions/location of canal blocking).Keywords: participation; land owners; canal blocking (tabat); handel; peatland.

Abstract

Energy demand increase follow to population growth factors, high exploration costs, rising world oil prices andthe difficulty of finding sources of oil reserves. These factors cause the governments of several countries toimmediately produce alternative energy that is renewable and environmentally friendly. Wood pellets are analternative energy source. The availability of raw materials is very easy to obtain. Raw materials for wood pelletsfrom the exploitation waste such as logging residues, branches and twigs, wood industry waste such as scraps,sawdust and bark, agricultural waste such as straw and husks. Waste that is developed into a product will produce ahigher economic value. Making pellets from wood waste is an alternative energy material for meeting people's energyneeds. The opportunity to develop wood pellets as fuel is wide open because of the vast potential of forests inIndonesia and the large amount of waste from forest products, both from timber industry waste and exploitationwaste. Equipment, raw materials and the process of making pellets in a simple manner need to be socialized to thepublic so that they can be applied especially for the utilization of potential waste that can be used as raw material formaking pellets.Keywords : wood pellets, waste, simple technology, renewable energy

Abstract

Nipa (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) is a non wood lignosellulosic materials that potential as raw material ofcomposite board. One of disadvantage of the nipa fronds was contains are very high extractives and inorganicsubstances. The presence of high content of extractives in raw material of particle board potentially be an obstacle inthe process of gluing the composite board. The existing of extractive substances on the surface of the compositeboard raw materials contribute to make the bonding process is not going well. On the other side, the utilization ofnatural binder for non wood composite is still limited. This research focused to investigated the effects of extractivesubtances for bonding performance of natural binder such as citric acid for nipa fronds particleboard. The particlesscreened passed through aperture sizes of 10 mesh and treated with three condition (non extraction, hot waterextraction and n-hexana extraction) were used as materials in this research. Addition of natural binder of 10% basedon air dried particles was done and pressing temperature was set at 180ºC under a pressure of 3,6 MPa during 10minutes. The physics and mechanics properties of particleboard was tested by standard JIS A 5908:2003. Theresults showed that the extractiction treatments for raw material affects on the properties of the particleboards. Hotwater extraction treatment was able to give the best results. The properties of particleboard was density 0.84 g.cm-3;moisture content 7.44%; thickness swelling 1,12%; water absorption 21,83%; surface roughness 7.57 ?m; internalbonding 0.49 MPa; modulus of rupture 10.42 MPa and modulus of elasticity 3.65 GPa. All of the properties of nipafronds particleboard meet most of the standards JIS A 5908:2003.Keywords: Hot water extraction, n-hexane extraction, nipa frond particleboard, natural binder, citric acid.
