Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of seaweed cultivation in Nuruwe Village, West Seram Regency. Primary data were collected through 4 respondents in the cultivation group with direct interviews and direct field observations of the object under study. Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis methods, namely productivity analysis, growth analysis, income analysis and financial ratios (BEP, ROI, R/C) and development strategy through SWOT and AHP analysis. The results showed that seaweed production was classified as productive, the absolute growth of seaweed had increased, seaweed cultivation was feasible to be developed and the development strategy resulted in 6 priority strategies, namely a). First Priority: Establishment of Seaweed Cultivation Institution b). Second Priority: Improving Cultivation Facilities and Infrastructure c). Third Priority: Water Conservation and Law Enforcement d). Fourth Priority: Seaweed Cultivation Technical Training e). Fifth Priority: Enlarging Cultivation Business f). Sixth Priority: Increased Seaweed Production.

Abstract

In early 2019, an asar fish processing business appeared on Tanjung Marthafons Beach, Poka Village. The advantage of this business is that it utilizes fresh cultivated fish, fish at the bottom and directly served for consumption. This business requires basic data for business development and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the added value of asar fish processing business on the Coast of Marthafons Cape in Poka Village. The survey was conducted in four business units, with the key respondents being business owners. The data obtained through observation and interviews were then analyzed using the value-added method of processing business. The results showed that the smoked fish processing business on the Coast of Marthafons Cape in Poka Village which consisted of the Marthafons, G & J Café, Lolias, and Mega Fish business units had an added value of Rp 27,620 to Rp 45,864 per kg. The value-added ratio shows that the G & J Café and Lalosi business units have low value-added, while the Marthafons and Mega Fish business units have moderate value-added. This value-added provides business certainty due to the high profit ratio of 78.52% to 96.90% per production period.

Abstract

Boat mooring in Dusun Pelita Jaya is used as a loading and unloading place for pole and line fishing vessels even with limited facilities. This research aims to identify infrastructure facilities that support the loading and unloading activities of fishery products and analyze the economic benefits of each economic activity caused. Sampling through interviews and obesity and data is analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the infrastructure facilities available are not adequate to support the loading and unloading activities of fishery products, namely cakalang and tuna in the form of logs. The economic benefits caused are direct and indirect benefits that are able to absorb 279 workers. The average value of economic benefits from all activities caused amounted to Rp. 56,771,603,687 or the average of each month amounted to Rp. 4,730,966,974. The largest contribution is made by fish collectors amounting to Rp. 23,622,300,000 or Rp1,968,525,000/month.

Abstract

The waters of the bay are known among domestic and foreign tourists as a tourist destination. Various tourist objects and attractions that offer beautiful beaches, underwater diving, waterfalls and natural cave holes are in this region. With the increasing activity of tourism and local community activities, it is certain that in the next few years almost all of the land will be used for various development activities, so the need for efficient utilization of coastal and marine resources, especially the utilization of fisheries and tourism potentials by developing the concept of minawisata in the area. The research purpose was formulating the development strategy of minatourism in Sawai Bay. The study was conducted for 3 months from September to November 2020. The data collection used primary and secondary data as well as purposive sampling. The data analysis method SWOT and AHP. The results showed that The priority strategies for developing minatourism in Sawai Bay, Central Maluku Regency; Development of quality human resources in the community; Increasing public awareness around the Sawai Bay area of ​​the importance of protecting fisheries and marine environmental resources; Developing local community expertise to support minatourism activities; Increasing tourism facilities and infrastructure; Increase the promotion of online/offline minawisata; Increase cooperation between managers and investors; and Improve MCS (monitoring, controling, survellance) (0.0058).

Abstract

Seaweed farming at Indonesian outer island generally done with traditional technique. Limitedless about information and market access is the main problem of the seaweed farming. Luang Barat, Mdona Hyera Distric is one of village that located at Indonesian outer island. This research aims to figured about seaweed farming and profile about the farmers. Method are used is survey method with sampling technique is observation and questionare to 44 respondent. Seaweed farming done personal by all farmers and it help by family members. Generally the age of all farmers is 30-39 years old with latest education at primary school and average of family member is 5 person. Besides seaweed farming, almost all farmers had a another job like as a government staff at the village, made a traditional boat and as a trader.

Abstract

The potential resources on the coast and oceans must be managed wisely and wisely. Fishery households (RTP) are one of the fishery units that can manage fishery resources. The purpose of this study is to find out the internal and external factors of the RTP and formulate a strategy to increase the business of the RTP hand line in Hukurila Village. The method used in this study was descriptive with a sample of 10 RTP. The analysis uses descriptive analysis and SWOT. Identification of internal factors, namely the availability of fishery resources and increased catches but low human resources, no cold storage available and limited capital. External factors are access to resources, government assistance, market availability, availability of fishing grounds. The threats are the arrest season, lack of capital information, high fuel oil prices and the presence of social conflicts. The SWOT analysis formulates an increase in fishermen's capacity in the development of an increased fleet, optimization of marketing of capture production, and increasing fishermen's access to reach fishing grounds.

Abstract

The excess unsold fish catches are used by fishermen's wives to increase income by processing them into salted fish. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of socioeconomic factors on the income of salted fish businesses. The research was carried out from April to May 2022 located in Penjajap Village, Pemangkat District, Sambas Regency. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using multiple linear analysis methods using SPSS 26 software. The results showed that 1). Socioeconomic factors such as the level of education, the number of dependents, the length of business, and the number of workers partially (partially) affect the income of salted fish entrepreneurs while the socioeconomic factors of age do not affect the income of salted fish entrepreneurs in Pemangkat District, Sambas Regency; 2). Socioeconomic factors such as age, level of education, number of dependents, length of business, and the number of workers together (simultaneously) affect the income of salted fish entrepreneurs in Pemangkat District, Sambas Regency.
