Cryptography guarantees security in communication through encryption. This paper proposed a modified Blowfish encryption that uses 128-bit block size and 128-bit key to comply with minimum requirements as an encryption standard. The modification retained the original structure for easy migration but utilized two S-boxes to save memory. A derivation was added to prevent symmetry. The algorithm’s performance was evaluated using time, and avalanche. Upon testing, the modified blowfish is slower with key, encryption, and decryption average of 26.99ms, 1651.83ms, and 2765.04ms compared to blowfish with 21.65ms, 1297.76ms and 2176.59ms due to block size difference. Applying 128-bit block size increases security by decreasing the chances of having duplicate blocks that may leak information. The modified Blowfish is faster compared to Twofish with an encryption and decryption average time of 2418.08ms and 4002.70ms. The added derivation improved the avalanche of the modified blowfish. Blowfish achieved 47.14% while modified Blowfish attained 52.86%.

Vehicle density and high vehicle mobility are variables that measured the performance of Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) in unpredictable traffic data transmission environment. This paper is focused on non-safety messages transmission mainly for delay in time in test-bed simulation environment. Network optimization is an approach to evaluate the existing congestion control protocols and other network parameters for outlining a newly enhanced congestion control protocols. This paper presents a city and highway traffic data transmission scenarios for optimizing delay sensitivity utilizing the Taguchi method. The avareage data transmission on delay is performance indicator applying OMNeT++ simulation tools. The optimization process could be achieved once the best fit performance parameters are being identified. The best fit performance values could conclude the optimal and efficient congestion control networks. The packet sizes are the main control factors for this test-bed experiment focusing on non-safety messages which are delay sensitive.

This paper investigates the suitability of vegetable oils to replace mineral oil based on its AC breakdown voltage, partial discharge and viscosity. The purpose of the study is to analyze the effect of the nanofluids containing SiO2 nanoparticle in vegetables oils; namely, Coconut oil and Palm oil. A nanofluid is a fluid containing nanoparticles. However, the precise effects on the electrical properties is still uncertain. For decades, transformers use petroleum-based mineral oil because of its good dielectric properties and cooling capability. Coconut oil (CO) and Palm oil (PO) are thought to be suitable alternatives to replace mineral oil as transformer oil as they are sustainable and available in plenty as natural resources. It was obtained in this study that the breakdown voltages of these raw oils have fulfilled the standard specifications of good insulating liquid. However, the addition of SiO2 did not improve the AC breakdown voltage and viscosity of coconut oil and palm oil at different temperatures. However, the addition of SiO2 gave positive results in the values of partial discharges in which the presence of the nanoparticles has greatly reduced the mean volume of partial discharges for both coconut oil and palm oil.

User satisfaction is one of the system use variables which is affected by the system creation variables in the information system (IS) success measurements, especially in the mandatory use of IS. This paper reports the relational variable assessments between three variables of the system creation dimension towards the user satisfaction variable in the library information system (LIS) implementation of a sampled university in Indonesia. Practically, the measurement has never been done since the early system implementation in the institution. The study focused on the status of the user satisfaction construct and what are the factors which influenced the construct. The used measurement model was adopted and adapted from the DeLone and McLean’s IS success model. A total of 185 respondents were selected in this study using multi-stage purposeful random sampling. The researchers used the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with the SmartPLS version 2.0 for analyzing the collected data. Findings of the study showed that users of the LIS were sufficiently satisfied and the proposed hypotheses were accepted. In terms of the adopted model, besides the findings theoretically proved that the user satisfaction construct has affected by the system creation constructs; the findings may also have proposed the practical recommendations to the sampled institution for the next LIS improvements in particular.

Intentional islanding is the last defense mechanism executed to avoid cascading failures and total blackout in power system network during severe or critical contingency. It is performed when other mitigation techniques are unable to save the network from collapse. Intentional islanding is preferred compared to unintentional islanding, which produces unstable islands. The objective of intentional islanding is to split the network by disconnecting appropriate transmission lines to produce electrically stable and balanced islands. There are many methods suggested by previous researchers on intentional islanding. This paper presents a comprehensive review on various intentional islanding methods proposed based on the common objective function used which are minimal power imbalance and minimal power flow disruption. The paper focuses on five intentional islanding methods which are analytical, numerical, heuristic, meta-heuristic and hybrid approaches. This review paper will serve as guideline and reference for researchers to explore further in this topic of interest.

Oils acts as insulation and cooling agent in the transformer. Petroleum-based oils are widely used in transformers due to their qualified properties as good insulation materials. Unfortunately, the used of petroleum-based oils has adverse effects on environment in the event of any failure to transformers such as tank leakage or explosions. Therefore, researchers have been studied and have found environmentally friendly oil that is suitable as substitutes in transformer. Thus, breakdown voltage tests using direct current and alternating current with the addition of different water content were performed to identify the potential of palm oil and coconut oil in the transformer isolation system. Refined, Bleached and Deodorized oil (RBDPO) and coconut oil samples were selected to be test in this study. The oil samples were test by varies the gap distance of test cell electrode and the level of water content. As a conclusion, RBDPO oil has greater breakdown voltage test under DC breakdown voltage test in term of increment of the gap distance.

This paper presents development of a simulation to demonstrate a relatively new hybrid approach in improving energy resources that is applicable in automotive industry. The existing hybrid approach in automotive industry is considerably efficient in terms of energy saving by switching between fuel and electricity for energy resources. However, both energy resources confront various challenges. While the electricity resources require recharging, the fuel resources are scarce and expensive. Therefore, in this paper we aim to propose a relatively new hybrid approach, referred to as energy recycling concept equipped with coordination algorithm. To simulate the proposed energy recycling concept, a prototype of Electrical Control Unit (ECU) car is built. Then, an algorithm that coordinates battery charging is developed and integrated with the ECU. Finally, the simulation of the proposed energy recycling concept equipped with the coordination algorithm is evaluated on the prototype of the ECU car. The results show that the proposed energy recycling concept that allows switching between two sources of energy is applicable to operate the ECU car prototype.
