Abstract

In recent days, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing is the technique to transmit and receive the signal without any overlapping of the signal. OFDM is also a multiplexing technique as well as modulation technique. It is a multi-carrier transmission technique in which single high data stream is divided into a number of lower rate streams that are transmitted simultaneous over some narrow sub channel. In general, OFDM avoids Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI), Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) and fault transmissions between source and destination node. To measure the performance of the system by using the parameters like Bit Error rate (BER), Spectrum analysis and signal strength detection. Based on the parameters the best system can be identified.

Abstract

This paper presents Rainfall–Landslide Early Warning System (RLEWS) using Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) precipitation estimates to notify the warning level for the possibility of landslide occurrences in Ulu Kelang, Selangor. In this study, RLEWS is developed to monitor the possibility of rainfall-induced landslide occurrences by comparing real time TRMM rainfall data with a landslide rainfall threshold. The landslide rainfall threshold is constructed by using the accumulated rainfall-accumulated rainfall (E-E) diagram method. The warning levels of rainfall threshold are classified into three levels; high, moderate and low. The analysis and notification are updating every 24 hours to provide the initial potential landslide information signal. The rainfall threshold analysis was able to detect the early signal of initial potential landslide occurrences. The aims of this study are to develop a low-cost, sustainable early warning system and web base application to send notification and awareness for residential areas in Ulu Kelang, Selangor.

Abstract

Numbers of researchers have developed interaction techniques in Augmented Reality (AR) application. Some of them proposed new technique for user interaction with different types of interfaces which could bring great promise for intuitive user interaction with 3D data naturally. This paper will explore the 3D object manipulation performs in single-point interaction (S-PI) technique in AR environment. The new interaction algorithm, S-PI technique, is point-based intersection designed to detect the interaction’s behaviors such as translate, rotate, clone and for intuitive 3D object handling. The S-PI technique is proposed with marker-based tracking in order to improve the trade-off between the accuracy and speed in manipulating 3D object in real-time. The method is robust required to ensure both elements of real and virtual can be combined relative to the user’s viewpoints and reduce system lag. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2797

Abstract

This paper describes the integration of mobile IP in mobile ad hoc network (MIPMANET) in large area network (LAN) between 8 nodes, where latency, delay, throughput is considered for the quality of service (QoS) consideration. For the best result of MIPMANET, the Dynamic Source Routing Protocol (DSR) and Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR) are considered. Although MANET has other routing protocols, the DSR performs better in MIPMANET integration in NS2. Mobile IP is applied for doing the dynamic topology to static topology as the nodes are flexible in an ad-hoc network. Simulation result suggests that the MANET performs better in DSR with MIP as the amount of packet drop is low and throughput is high

Abstract

Nonlinear robust control of the spacecraft attitude with the existence of external disturbances is considered. A robust attitude controller is designed based on the passivity approach the quaternion representation, which introduces the suppression vector of external disturbance into the control law and does not need angular velocity measurement. Stability conditions of the robust attitude controller are given. And the numerical simulation results show the effectiveness of the attitude controller.DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i1.3477

Abstract

Single-path routing protocols cannot satisfy the need of Wireless multimedia Sensor networks, and Multi-path routing protocols have many advantages in wireless multimedia sensor networks. Recent years, some researchers have proposed many multi-path routing protocols. The paper introduces and outlines the different multi-path routing protocols in WMSNs and classifies them according to their characteristics. The future direction is pointed.

Abstract

Precise and correct estimation of streamflow is important for the operative progression in water resources systems. The artificial intelligence approaches; such as artificial neural networks (ANN) have been applied for efficiently tackling the hydrological matters like streamflow forecasting in this study at upper Yangtze River. The objective is to investigate the certainty of monthly streamflow by applying artificial neural networks including Generalized Regression Network (GRNN). To overcome the non-linearity problem of streamflow, artificial neural networks integrated with discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Data has been analyzed by comparing the simulation outputs of the models with the correlation coefficient (R) root mean square errors (RMSE). It is found that the decomposition technique DWT has ability to improve the forecasting results as compare to single applied artificial neural networks. Moreover, all applied models are separately applies on the peak values as well which also have showed that intergrated model has more ability to catch the peak values

Abstract

FFT is used in Modern high speed signal processing application. In aforementioned technologies that tends to operate in various operational modes. To implement FFT obviously it not only needs to meet high throughput demand and also it needed to scalable cater selectable N point FFT. Our contribution to this paper is two-fold of our existing method, as proposes for the split radix using Multipath Delay Commutator (MDC) algorithm has the least complex design and less multiplications comparing to radix-2 algorithm. So that it can able to reduce power consumption and area than our existing work. The implementation of power efficient hardware of split radix FFT (SRFFT) is built up by pruning excessive computation. Leveraging this potential, a new architecture of a configurable SRFFT processor is first developed so that unnecessary computations, which yield zeros at the output, are pruned. Simulations show that maximum power saving of around 20% is achieved. The proposed algorithm consists of mixed radix butterflies, whose structure is more regular. It has the conjugate-pair version, which requires less memory.

Abstract

Paper electronics is an emerging technology to implement flexible and wearable electronics devices via ink printing process. This paper evaluates the feasibility of using conventional printing paper for coating process with graphene/cellulose ink. 4 different types of regularly used conventional printing papers were used as substrates in this work. The conductive graphene ink was prepared through exfoliation of graphite in cellulose solution. The paper substrates surface morphology and sheet resistance of the drop-casted conductive ink on each paper were analyzed and discussed. Glossy paper was found to be suitable paper substrate for the printing of the formulated ink due to its low surface roughness of 16 nm. The value of sheet resistance of the graphene/cellulose thin film can be lowered to 4.11 kΩ/sq by applying multiple drops. This work suggests that conventional printing paper may offer solution for highly scalable and low-cost paper electronics.

Abstract

With the development of computer technology and artificial intelligence, the research into examination paper composition receives more and more concern, and the artificial composition of examination paper based on the genetic algorithm gradually demonstrates its superiority. However, due to the complexity of the restraints of paper composition, it has many shortcomings. This paper focuses on the application of the genetic algorithm in paper composition, and proposes an improved tactic of arithmetic crossing, which enlarges the searching space of algorithm to a considerable extent, avoiding the defects of the slow convergence of the simple genetic algorithm and regional convergence so that the efficiency and quality of paper composition are raised. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4888
