Abstract

Galvanic coupling method is one of the methods introduced in intra-body communication (IBC). IBC uses human body to as the communication medium for data transmission. In this paper, the investigation focuses on signal attenuation performance across knee joint using the galvanic coupling analysis. The signal attenuation was determined by implementing the galvanic coupling analysis at specific knee flexion angle. The galvanic analysis initiated by deciding the operating frequency in between 40 to 60 MHz in order to analyze the signal attenuation between the knee flexion angles. This paper found that the lowest signal attenuation at the operating frequency was 47.25dB, while the highest one was 52.63dB where the knee flexion angle is 0o and 155o respectively. It was concluded that the signal attenuation decrease with the increasing of knee joint existence at the specific flexion angle. However, a wider experiment must be conducted for various data that will correspond to signal attenuation for various influenced human data characteristics.

Abstract

RFM stands for Recency, Frequency, and Monetary. RFM is a simple but effective method that can be applied to market segmentation. RFM analysis is used to analyze customer’s behavior which consists of how recently the customers have purchased (recency), how often customer’s purchases (frequency), and how much money customers spend (monetary). In this study, RFM analysis has been used for product segmentation is to be arrayed in terms of recent sales (R), frequent sales (F), and the total money spent (M) using the data mining method. This study has proposed a new procedure for RFM analysis (in product segmentation) using the k-Means method and eight indexes of validity to determine the optimal number of clusters namely Elbow Method, Silhouette Index, Calinski-Harabasz Index, Davies-Bouldin Index, Ratkowski Index, Hubert Index, Ball-Hall Index, and Krzanowski-Lai Index, which can improve the objectivity and similarity of data in product segmentation so that it can improve the accuracy of the stock management process. The evaluation results showed that the optimal number of clusters for the k-Means method applied in the RFM analysis consists of three clusters (segmentation) with a variance value of 0.19113.

Abstract

After embedding the watermark based on the algorithm of PE file resources section, the data of resource section was still easy to be rearranged, so this paper put forward a new watermark algorithm with the function of anti-tamper. The new algorithm still used watermark information to control the order of software resource structure’s nodes, and hid the watermark information in the rearranged resource structure. At the same time it recorded the exchanged node information of each layer, and encoded these exchanged nodes’ information. Then it constructed corresponding MPPCT and DPPCT according to the encoding results to achieve the purpose of anti-tamper. Experiment shows that it realizes a blind detection, resists multiple common attacks effectively, and has strong robustness.  DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.4215

Abstract

It needs to calculate the distance between the vague sets based on the approximate reasoning on the clustering rules of vague set. In this study, two new distance formulae for vague sets are presented, which are proved to satisfy the known axioms. With a suitable distance formula, a more reasonable clustering of Vague set rule can be obtained. Therefore, the searching scope of vague reasoning is decreased, and the reasoning complexity is reduced in the approximate reasoning of Vague set rules.

Abstract

Using distributed generation power plants is common due to advantages such as system capacity release, voltage support and reduced energy losses in power networks. Prior to the creation of distributed generation plants (DG), economic calculation is needed in order to find the optimum location. In this study, IEEE 57 bus test system is evaluated using two index of LMP and CP. Then, the optimal location of distributed generation plants is studied in experimental network. Finally, the effects of DG correct location on buses LMP after DG installation is studied.

Abstract

Traditional DFT channel estimation algorithm is relatively balanced in terms of complexity and estimation performance, but compared with the four typical channels of UWB, especially in terms of CM1 and CM2 channel with a small number of the diameter, the cyclic prefix length is relatively much larger than the length of their delay, so the back part is still noise. Aimed at this problem, an improved DFT channel estimation algorithm is brought up in this paper, and this algorithm adds the appropriate threshold threshold in the CP to further eliminate noise, and simulation results show that the improved algorithm is better than the original algorithm. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2871

Abstract

Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) Malaysia has reported that the incidence of work related to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) has been growing planetary in the manufacturing industry. MSDs are the result of repetitive, forceful or awkward movements on our body and or body parts of bones, joints, ligaments and other soft tissues. Workplace pains and strains can be serious and disabling for workers, causing pain and suffering ranging from discomfort to severe disability. To overcome this problem, Electromyography is proper to use in Health Screening Program (HSP) it to monitor darn diagnose the muscle’s performance for their patient and know the exact localization of muscle pain. The previous researchers has been explore of several in EMG analysis techniques and features proposed in time, frequency and time-frequency domain analysis. This review of common EMG signal processing techniques is proposed by assembling from simple to complex analysis techniques to give the overview information for the other researcher. This is because; the suitable selection of a method and its features settings will ensure readability of the time-frequency representations and reliability of results. The strongest correspond with time-frequency characteristic and resolution also reducing cross term for bilinear will consider it as the optimal method.

Abstract

This article presents a planar array of rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna operating for 28 GHz applications. The proposed antenna is formed through two stages of designs which are a single element and planar array. It is made up from a ceramic material with a dielectric constant of 10 and mounted on RT/Duroid 5880 with a relative permittivity of 2.2 and a thickness of 0.254 mm. A prospective study using three different configurations of three by three planar array is done in order to obtain the best performance in terms of bandwidth, gain, and cost reduction. Besides that, this study is also conducted for a beam steering capability of each configuration. Finally, the best configuration is proposed for 5G application.

Abstract

This paper presents the design of Wideband Frequency Reconfigurable Metamaterial Antenna by Employing Split Ring Resonator (SRR) and Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR) for Wireles Area Network (WLAN) Apllication. The design is based on reconfiguring wideband metamaterial antenna by applying frequency reconfiguration technique. This was achieved by employing SRR and CSRR for bandwidth enhacement and two PIN Diode switches at different position for reconfiguration. The antenna has electrical dimention of    at 2.4 GHz. Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Software was used to determine the effectiveness of the technique. This design has several advantages like wider bandwidth which cover 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz WLAN bands, with three different single bands. From the simulation results, it was found that, the antenna has a bandwidth which covered 2.4 to 5.6 GHz, single bands at 2.5 GHz, 3.0 GHz and 3.5 GHz, with realized peak gain of 2.24 dBi and 3.9 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz respectively and average efficiency of 96%. The antenna can be used for wireless application and cognitive radio application.
