Abstract

This paper presents a performance investigation of bldc motor employing KY converter. Conventional The landsman converter is  used to minimize the ripples but  the inverter produces high output power ripples, which in turn affect the output of the inverter in The proposed KY converter  reduces ripples and smooth dc supply gives to the inverter  then it will used to operate brushless dc motor, which inturn improves the motor performance. the electronically commutated brushless DC with voltage source inverter can be operated at fundamental frequency is to reduce switching losses which output in higher efficiency.

Abstract

Malaysia is blessed with high irradiance, making it suitable for solar photovoltaic installation for electricity generation. However, due to the broad wavelength of the solar irradiance, not all wavelength can be converted to electricity due to the limitation of the materials used for the photovoltaic. The infrared radiation absorbed produces heat, and coupled with high surrounding temperature, increases the temperature of the photovoltaic panel thus decreasing it efficiency. This paper presents the study of the effect of attaching pulsating heat pipe at the back of solar panel as a means of passive cooling. Pulsating heat pipe is a recent discovery in the heat pipe industry, introduced in 1996 by Akachi but has not been used for the purpose of cooling solar panels. This study shows the maximum difference between 5 Celsius between the pulsating heat pipe cooled panel and the reference panel without any cooling, resulting in 0.77% increase in electrical output efficiencyMalaysia is blessed with high irradiance, making it suitable for solar photovoltaic installation for electricity generation. Abstract

The classical algorithm for mining association rules is low efficiency. Generally there is high redundancy between gained rules. To solve these problems, a new algorithm of finding non-redundant association rules based on frequent concept sets was proposed.The Hasse graph of these concepts was generated on the basis of the FP-tree. Because of the restriction of the support most Hasse graphs have losed lattice structure. During building process of the Hasse graph, all nodes were formatted according to the index of items which were found in the fequent-item head table. At the same time these nodes were selected by comparing supports. In the Hasse graph, the intention of node is frequent itemset and the extension of node is support count of this itemset. And the non-redundant association rules were gained by scanning the leaf nodes of the graph.The simulation shows the feasibility of the algorithm proposed. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2803

Abstract

Visible light communication (VLC) also known as "Li-Fi", uses standard LEDs to transmit data such as information, images, music, and videos. The first LED was developed in 1927 by Oleg Vladimírovich Lósev (1903-1942), however it was not used in the industry until the 1960s.In this paper, will describe the implementation of Modified Phase Equalization (MPH) on visible white LED lamps signal because it's has slow transition time that severely limits in the communication system data speeds with phase equalization that increases the bandwidth of the LED modulation. Employ two filters with Modified Phase Equalization: first, Complementary (C) filter to combine between all kinds moving signals and second, finite impulse response (FIR) filter to obtain all coefficients that respective. Implementation in two phases: first, frequency 150KHz with number of signals 15000 signals and second, doubling frequency 300KHz with number of signals 30000 signals of LEDs without losing their main functionality as illumination sources.

Abstract

In order to study the influence of motionparameters of shearer drum on shearer cutting properties,an embedded system for cutting load test that can identify thecutting resistance indirectly were developed and put into test experimentunderground. The analysis results indicated that in the case of pullingspeed being constant, when pulling speed is small, the cuttingresistance nonlinearly declined and cutting specific energy consumption (CSEC)increases nonlinearly with the increase of the drum rotating speed; whenpulling speed is large, cutting resistance approximately linearly decreases andCSEC linearly increases with the increase of the drum rotating speed; in thecase of drum rotating speed being constant, the cutting resistance presentslinearly reducing form with pulling speed increasing its value in the range ofhigher speed and increases nonlinearly with pulling speed increasing its valuein the range of lower speed, and CSEC decreases nonlinearly with the increaseof the pulling speed. The consistency of the theoretical analysis and the testresults confirmed the reliability of the proposed embedded system whichprovides an effective way for the detection and analysis of mine shaft cuttingload and also provides the instruction for shearer speed-changing cutting coal. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i1.3191

Abstract

In this paper, we first analyze the features and shortcomings of existing stochastic programming methods. For the bottleneck of higher computational complexity, we give the concept of reliability coefficient and a quasi-linear processing pattern for chance-constrain based on mathematic expectation and variance, analyze the relationship between reliability coefficient and reliability (probability), and give the selecting strategy of reliability coefficient. Then, we establish the quasi-linear stochastic programming model, and discuss the performance of this model by an example.

Abstract

Sequential pattern mining, it  is not just important in data mining field , but  it is the basis of many applications .However, running applications cost time and memory, especially when dealing with dense of the dataset. Setting the proper minimum support threshold is one of the factors that consume more memory and time. However ,  it is difficult for users to get the appropriate patterns, it may present too many sequential patterns  and makes it difficult for users to comprehend the results. The problem becomes worse and worse when dealing with long click stream sequences or huge dataset. As a solution, we developed an efficient algorithm, called TopK (Top-K click stream sequence pattern mining), which employs the output as top-k patterns , K is the most important and relevant frequencies (with a high support) . However ,our algorithm based on pseudo-projection to avoid consuming more time and memory, and uses several efficient search space pruning methods together with BI-Directional Extension. Our extensive study and experiments on real click stream datasets show TopK significantly outperforms the previous algorithms.

Abstract

In recent years data mining has acquired huge popularity in the field of knowledge discovery. Thus, this approach has inspired several researches for anomaly detection, fraud detection and intrusion detection with higher accuracy, all round generalization of the problem and its sub cases; all giving higher performance in conditions subjected to continuous alteration. Though there remain quite a few challenging problems in design and implementation of a data mining based cloud intrusion detection system, as deception tactics and modeling of behavior remains a daunting problem to compute for anomaly owing to massive size of data to process in reasonable time. In this study we present a cascaded neural network based data mining strategy for cloud intrusion detection systems (IDSs) and presents the comparison and performance results tested on DARPA Intrusion Detection (ID) Data Sets, Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining Cup, NSL-KDD dataset. The study exhibits numerous advantages offered by the presented method and give reliable results of anomaly detection in real time scenario.

Abstract

Electric power generation and consumption are indicating an unprecedented change in recent decades. Electrical power industry and transportation sector lie at the core of this development and hence this change. This change is one of the major causes of polluting environmental and global warming. So, to decrease the dependency on conventional fuels and greenhouse gas emissions, countries around the globe are actively finding alternative energy resources. It will help to develop clean and green energies to build a sustainable society. Simultaneously, energy utilization in the field of transportation is witnessing a change from fossil fuel to electricity-based fuel. Electrified transportation system is a solution to endorse sustainable energy development and addressing environmental pollution, global warming issues. In this paper, an EV battery charger is designed with a two-stage charging model to achieve good efficiency. The design is simulated by using MATLAB simulation and compared with the existing model. The simulation results show that the proposed model is superior to the traditional model.

Abstract

It is widely accepted that electrochemical batteries ensure superior energy storage and reliability of power supply. This paper proposes to discuss the dynamic performance of the Lead Acid Storage battery and to develop an Electrical Equivalent circuit and study its response to sudden changes in the output. A detailed explanation of the discharging process for lead-acid storage batteries and the factors affecting the rate of chemical reactions is provided. The objective of the study is to find the reduction in terminal voltage due to the change in reaction rate and to evolve a simple dynamic model for discharge of the battery.
